For me one of the most practically useful, calming, and game improving tennis videos I've seen in 6 years. Used the advice today in a match and even when things were not working, I was able to keep trying stress free. Enjoyable, regardless of the result. It's how I want to play :) Merci beaucoup !
@@matildasvensson8470 I won 🙂 that day and lost the next two match a few days later playing with the same mind set. On all 3 occasions I felt far more relaxed and free because of his advice, and, progressing ;)
he is the best coach tennis i ever seen. he under stand all aspect of tennis .the other coach zero compare to him and the dont understand it like him they always incomplete teaching. especially top spin on consistency.
woww I am a 4th year clinical psychology student and a tennis player as well, your advices are rational and I am definitely sure that it will improve every player's game, I also really love your communication skills, especially your listening. keep it up!
Yes very true, ✅your intention is very important. Champions say ...focus on each point. Stay in the zone...thats why Iga, Nadal...they have rituals to keep them focused on the game. 🏆 play practice like its a match, great tip 🥳
Think about this: Mindset/mental toughness affects 30-40% of your tennis game? If we practice 100% of the time, but we dont practice mental toughness, how are we going to win if we are just practicing tennis at 60-70%? you need to practice the other 30-40% with mental toughness EVERYDAY, and that is the only way that you can play at your 100%. I see all players practicing 100%, but they forget about mental toughness, how are you going to win if you are at your 60%, without practicing your mental toughness at least 1-2 hrs? This was KEY for me. If you put effort every day in your mental toughness, you might reach the 100% one day. Even though myself i practice 15-20 min everyday, still at my 80%, so i need to do more mental.
As a coach this is the most stressful issue for me. If it is stressful for me to have an incredible practice session and my player hitting their absolute best followed by a match where both of us are wondering why the worst is happening, then I can't imagine the stress on my player. Lol, I am beginning to worry that when they are able to focus on playing their best and not the results/score, that there is a new stress of not playing their best.
I’m glad these videos are made. I feel exactly the same way when I’m play matches, so hopefully this’ll help me to not get the stress level I usually feel
Not only a tennis lesson, this is a life lesson. Merci Patrick!
Tennis Is Life!
These videos are so good. Like free world class lessons.
Right.
2:11 THE RESULT IS NOT THE MAIN FOCUS
3:15 FOCUS ON WHAT DEPENDS ON YOU (attitude/self talk, body language - shoutout Rafa, plan/strategy/intention, etc.)
5:48 INTENTION
9:22 DETAIL WHAT YOU CAN CONTROL (i.e. elaborate on the things that depend on you)
10:57 HAPPINESS CAN’T DEPEND ON RESULTS OR SOMEONE ELSE
This advice is THE BEST I have heard in a while. Playing a tournament tomorrow, and will have this mindset. Thankyou Patrick, this was golden.

As always, a very good video. Would you ever entertain doing the same sort of session with a club player?
merci
Thank you
Nice to hear the little brother of Tsitsipas
During watching it I wanted press 👍 many times
Same mental struggles at all levels
Exactly that is why this video is posted for the world to see! I liked when he mentioned you cannot play for fun in a match, you are fighting to win.
