Everyone should buy at least one schotts jacket in their lifetime it's the best and will last you for ever you can pass it to the next generation and the next ,the leather and workmanship are outstanding .

Anything handcrafted or made to any degree of high quality is going to be somewhat expensive due to the time/materials needed. Or the skills. That's not true of everything but it's a good guideline.

I purchased a Schott NYC B-3 bomber jacket from the company's LA retail store in mid-November 2017. In mid-December, I noticed that the left pocket had a 2-inch tear. I emailed the company's customer service account, once on December 22 and again on January 3. It is now January 8th. Despite the company website's claims that it will respond to inquiries within 24 hours, Schott NYC apparently doesn't care much about after-sales service, once it gets a customer's $1,270 in its cash register.
Retired Early 53 does the Ricardo B.H. jacket fit like the schott jacket as in not boxy?

I have a shearling With a 100% genuine lambskin shell. But the lable says That the lining is made From 100% Polyester...... is That Even possible and does it make Any sense doing it to cut costs ?
Here's the difference, sheepskins (wool on) and sheep nappa are produced differently. When preserving the wool coat, you have to take a number of precautions to prevent hair slippage, whereas sheep/lamb nappa are processed like most leather. I really find it stupid to use a non-removable polyester lining in a leather jacket or coat. Benefit of hair on sheepskins is that you can correct the grain to any pattern you want. Smooth, pebbled, wrinkled and creased are all possible. In India sheepskin refers to sheep nappa leather. It's wonderful stuff and definitely has its place. It's softer than goatskin but tougher than lamb skin.

How do you figure? My nan was a tailor and you'd be surprised how little material you actually need to make all the patterns fit on.

@@__Ted deadass lol, I wore it during Halloween with just a thin t shirt and I honestly couldn't be warmer. Only problem is I'm 5'6 and the jacket is clearly made for people 5'8 and above so it's pretty long on me

It’s a nice sheepskin jacket but NOT a B-3. Loosely based on B-3s, yes, but calling it a B-3 is giving customers a false impression.

Just for the info.. Don't buy into that bullshit gimic that 'American made schott jackets are top while the ones that are produced in Europe are garbage'.. Bought recently the lc1259 in black.. My bud had the American supposedly 'original' version of it that costs 1k more.. It is literally almost the same exact jacket just much more baggy which isn't necessarily a good thing 😅

No, it’s the quality and the craftsmanship in the United States that contributes to the price. Yes $1k for a jacket is expensive for 99% of people but they last forever. People still have aviator jackets from WW2 because they age well. A $100 shearling jacket will last you a few years but these jackets will outlive you
