Another great video Tim! The human drama really took it to another level for us viewers, thought I can't imaging just how tough it was for you all. As with all your vids, beer featured prominently!
Such a great video Tim! Thanks again for organising. This was much easier than climbing Barrington again, so thanks for that. 51:27 a bit triggered over here! @@BikesnLikes haha, I felt bad putting that in the video for Josh, but it was too good not too’ Me and Nat had also just been swimming and chilling by the water. We probably did look fresher. I think next time we have to ride up Nine Mile 😂
Wow Tim! Can’t believe how many people were with you😂. Maybe you should do it regularly and invite subscribers to come along for your rides. Looks like you had a great time - great video as usual.
@@nicdhunter7652 cheers mate, yeah I had a great time and was a heap of fun riding with new friends. It’s pretty hard work organising though, I was going to have an open info type page so anyone who wanted to come could. But then I panicked it could get too big, so I just left it to the people who messaged me. It was a lot of conversation going at once which was hard to manage. I ended up having 30 people coming at one point but a heap pulled out last minute. It was very close to Christmas. Anyway, I think it was worth it and keen to try again. Next time I might try a route that’s not as tough 😂
@ fair enough. Last thing you want to do is overwhelm yourself and stress about organising something like this. The Whole point of going ,is to get away from that!
@@nicdhunter7652 it would be nice to just name a place and time online and see what happens, but if a campground only holds 20 people and 200 turn up. Fantastic video. Thanks again Tim. Good on you for organising the ride! It looked like the downhills on the Ingegoodbee Track were steep, but not as steep as Nine Mile Track (going by Gerard's video). I reckon you chose a good route because it started with a mostly uphill day, so anyone who has underestimated the ride has a mainly downhill ride back. And Happy Birthday! 🙂
Happy Birthday Tim! I felt what you felt most of the video :) Did Jindabyne to Crackenback in Feb 2024. Quick question for everyone. I noticed most bikepackers ride cross. Anyone managed successfully to build a setup for bikepacking on dual suspension MTB? Really want to jump into bikepacking now. So far doing 20-60 km trips in 1 day. Big thanks!
Happy birthday Tim. I think the Thredbo Valley Trail is "made for" downhill riding. In holiday season, there are even pick-up truck services to take riders back to the uphill hotels. I rode a bit there and met a few downhill guys flying down that singletrack, they scared me to cancel the plan.
@@terryoutdoornofancy Thanks Therry. You’re right about guys flying down it, but it’s also filled with young kids and families going super slow, it’s not the place to be riding like a lunatic, the mountain is for that. We had no issues with riders coming down it. I’ve flown down sections of it on my downhill bike in years gone by, so I know there is the risk of a collision. Plenty of people do pedal up it though.

@@qin02 Cheers mate! And which one? The original green Raleigh which I started my bikepacking on is in the roof space at home. The frame and fork anyway. That frame was always too big for me and when I put the bigger wheels on I couldn’t even stand flat footed over the top tube. I ended up buying another Raleigh which is more my size and has been in a heap of videos. I did make 80% of a video telling that story and showing the new bike about 2 years ago, but I ended up getting covid and never finished it. I’m assuming you want to know how the rear end dropout replacement went? Well it hasn’t happened yet, i was too scared to ruin my 2nd Raleigh frame because I really like it.
