I have worked on “many” aircraft models, read hundreds of airplane books, looked at tens of thousands of aircraft photos, have flown professionally for almost 32 years and this man is “it”….he is THE standard by which all model aircraft building is compared against. Indeed, anything less than his level of care and perfection is about 10 levels below “mediocre”…..that’s where the rest of us are. I am in complete awe of your skill, Sir. You humble and inspire model builders around the world and simultaneously honor the men who built, worked on and flew the mighty B-24. WELL DONE!
Sir, I really appreciate your words. There are many people in the modeling world who have written to me and even asked me for advice in private, but they don't dare to express themselves publicly. We know why; I have many anecdotes about it. So I thank you for expressing your thoughts.
If I was a billionare, I would commission you to make a Lancaster Bomber. Amazing work and insane attention to detail. I think that you must be the best aircraft modelmaker in the world.
Thank you, Ned. During the 1980s I built several models in smaller scales of 1:24, 1:32, and 1:40, including the Handley Page Halifax. Maybe one day I can build a Lancaster. In any case, I am no longer going to work on large scales of 1:15 or 1:20 because each model takes me two to three years. It is too much for a single model and the prices are very expensive

This build deserves a presidential medal of freedom. I'm completely in awe at the painstaking attention to detail and the number of hours it must have taken to create this.
Thank you for the kind comment, sir. I have been working for two years to build this fuselage, but half of that time was spent on archaeological research.
15 minutes ago, I was proud of the 1/48 B-24J I’m currently building from the old monogram kit. After watching this video, I kinda want to toss mine in the trash and light it on fire. What you’ve put together here is incredible!
Sir, don't throw away your model! Try to enjoy the art of modeling in the most natural way possible, without pressure or comparisons. Being a modeler in these turbulent times, is a blessing. Thanks for watching.
As a boy I used to glue the plastic airplane models together, I have never seen such incredible close up detail out of the scratch built community before, Just Awesome work!!!
Thank you, sir. The scratch built community is not as popular as plastic modeling, but if you have the possibility to go to an exhibition of engineering models, you will be amazed.

The B-24 is by far my most favorite airplane. Seeing the way how you build one in 1/20 from scratch, cannot find the good words for it which represent the appreciation I feel for your work. Absolutely a stunning masterpiece. My deep respect for your craftsmanship. Regards Martin
Martin, thank you very much for your kind words. Regarding my work, perhaps the most "silent" part is not the artisan work itself, but the archaeological research work.
I can not think of any words to due justice. Favorite version of my favorite bomber. As someone who is involved in aircraft restoration the detail at this scale looks equal to the "real thing" we are working on which is a B-25.
John, thank you very much for your comment. You spend a lot of hours among vintage airplanes, so I value your opinion very much. I worked for several years at an aviation museum as a model maker, and also helping to restore real planes. The experience of spending so many hours surrounded by vintage airplanes and understanding their technology, is extremely important for a modeler. Thank you for watching.
Absolutely amazing level of craftsmanship . I have looked at your website many times but when I see a new piece you are creating it still amazes me that a human has this type of ability , either that or you have Keebler Elves being held and forced to build these.
Saludos cordiales.
I thought I could build models. This is so far beyond anything I've ever done, I cannot even approach close. The talent, patience and passion for this kind of craftsmanship is uniquely rare. My respect to you sir. 🍻
Your level of craftsmanship and detail is absolutely amazing. I can't understand how your level of skill is even possible. It goes beyond just having the patience required. I have scratch built some scale model planes, carved violins, frame off restored classic cars, participated in woodworking and various other crafty hobbies so I have an appreciation for craftsmanship and patience. I am completely impressed with your work.
Thank you for the kind and interesting comment, sir. You are a person who knows how to "create" using your own hands, and that makes your opinion very valuable to me. When I was a child my father gave me plastic kits but he was always the one who assembled them. That made me start building my own cardboard models. Then I switched to wood and finally to metal.
Thanks, Ovidiu. My "tutorial kit" (combo DVD+instruction book+hardware), will be ready for the public once I finish my work on the B-24. If you want information on this matter, please write to my private email, which you will find on my website >contact. www.rojasbazan.com

I'd even pay to watch videos of you creating these wonders ; you're what the Japanese call a living treasure ! It's such a shame your creations aren't more widely known, including this video that deserves much more Likes at this moment.
Thank you very much for your comment, David. Before settling in the USA, I had built 104 airplane models in different scales (mainly 1:40) for two museums in Argentina. Then I settled in Spain and spent two years selling models to Executive Display Models in London and Heritage Aviation Art, in Seattle. When I settled in the USA in 1993, my work was already known mainly by collectors. In the fall of 1995 Cigar Aficionado magazine (general interest) published a four page article about my work and my story. "Although Rojas Bazan was not widely known (in the USA), he had a small following of collectors in this country, and was known to people in the esoteric world of expensive, one-off models. One who knew of RB's work is GK, who owns Fine Art Model". I worked exclusively for FAM for 14 years, building prototypes that were later copied in limited editions. Then the internet appeared, and then the algorithms, that only seek to position whoever gives the most profit (if I added a plastic kit brand in the titles of my videos, millions would enter!). My field is model engineering, not the plastic models world; although they have things in common, they are different disciplines. Visit this link to learn more (my website needs to be fixed because there are scattered titles and some broken links, but it works 90%). Thank you for your support, David. www.rojasbazan.com/press/international-press/index.html
@@rojasbazan I hope I didn't seem disrespectful to you ; I especially wanted to underline the fact that, precisely among the plastic model makers, your work seems too little known. When I mentioned your name in a comment on Plasmo's channel, no one seemed to have seen your videos, which I find unfortunate. As you point out, the algorithm gives little value to this type of content. Anyway, thx for the additional info you provided.
@@Onlygloo David, your comment did not offend me, quite the opposite, I really liked it and I thank you because you have realized that something strange is happening. I only try to express (in a language that is not mine) something that many people know what it is about for years.
@@Onlygloo I was watching that channel you mention. It is one of many similar sites around the world, from Argentina to Poland, from Italy to Canada. Always the same; the same kits, the same accessories, the same techniques, the same tutorials and the same obsession with paint and weathering. The only difference is that some gurus use better technology to display their models in the media. If you go to a model engineering exhibit, you'll see another type of modeling, something absolutely different. No kits there; pure craftsmanship. The two are different worlds.
@@rojasbazan Obviously English isn't mine either but I think you and I (and many others) both speak the same language when it comes to the love of things made with passion and a nack for details through research and craftmanship. The main difference being you are clearly way more fluent than I'll ever be 😉
Absolutely wonderful. I can only imagine the thousands of hours you have put into this masterpiece. Every new detail you find leads to 30 other new ones to create, and the work you put into them is brilliant.Scratch building at this level takes unbelievable fortitude and motivation, and a deep understanding of when to decide something is "good enough," something users of photo-etch probably don't understand.
Thank you very much sir. Your message is one of those that are very important to me, so I will keep it in a folder along with other similar ones. It shows me that there are still people who understand what I've been trying to prove for decades, which is that within the field of scale modeling (and other fields, too), having a lot of money to buy an arsenal of high-tech tools to show off in the studio and impress other modellers, it does not mean at all that the person could build better models or achieve some "excellence" over someone who does not have the same means.
@@rojasbazan Absolutely. I did some of my best work, the stuff that made it into a magazine, with an assortment of secondhand tools, repurposed odds and ends, a 230V exhaust fan motor for mixing paint and holding precision drill bits, and imagination. That's all we really need. Oh, and patience :)
As soon as I win the lottery I will commission a Short Sunderland! And insist on video of the entire build, I could watch you work for hours! You sir are the absolute pinnacle of model making, genius doesn't come close
Incredible! Attention to detail, the precision, and the research.... Your work is beyond words. Even knowing this is a "model", I felt I could climb up in to the beast and go to work! I tip my hat Sir! I have a special place for the B-24. My Uncle (my Dad's brother) was a bombardier on one. It was pretty badly shot up and was lost in the Owen Stanley Mountains of New Guinea. The plane was found about 9 years ago and the U.S. recovery team went out to the wreck. There were no remains or parachutes in the aircraft, and All sensitive equipment was smashed/destroyed. They did bail out. However, ..... This area of New Guinea is home to the headhunters. The Allies and the Japanese knew that if the crash or the jungle didn't get you, the Headhunters would and did. The Recovery Team was able to get to many of the wrecks and usually found no remains or incomplete remains. We were grateful for the news, as my Uncle and the entire Crew, went from MIA-Presumed Dead to Lost in Action. We, and many other families, were finally able to close that chapter. To ALL those Men are still on the mission🙏
John, as you say, "All those men are still on the mission." This model was commissioned as a tribute to all the crews that served in the B-24s. Thank you for your kind comment.
Despite knowing a few of your previous models, which are outstanding, this one is absolutely insane. The attention to manufacturing detail, plus the painting and weathering makes one wonder if you have made a 1:20 scale airplane model or some coins and a ruler models in 20:1 scale. Everything is superb, but the tail assembly is unbelievable: very hard to tell apart from the real deal without some scale reference! Thank you for taking the additional time and effort of making this video (great lighting and camera work, btw) and sharing it. All the best and greetings from your country of birth.
Dear friend, thank you a lot for your special words; that was really thoughtful of you. You know this is all the effort of a lifetime. I want to keep this very special message because it is a balm for the soul. Are you living in Argentina? Greetings from Michigan.

Christopher, after finishing the B-24, I will dedicate myself exclusively to working on a Tutorial Kit, which will be a combination of video, brochure and semi-finished aluminum parts. This is an old project and the time has come to do it.
Thanks very much, sir. When I finish the B-24 I'm going to stop a bit and dedicate myself to finishing and editing my first "tutorial kit", a combo of DVD, booklet and aluminum parts. After that, I will go back to my "beginnings", that is, I'll build models in small scales to lower the construction time and the prices.
It is an Honour to be able to see your craftsmanship and stunning work up close..... Senor Guillermo, You have an amazing Talent.... And it is wonderful that you share with us... Bless you :-)))

If I did much social media I would pass your work on to my other coworkers. If I can, maybe they can hire you for a retirement gift for themselves. Beautiful work, well done sir.
Sir, I appreciate you sharing your thoughts and I appreciate you wanting to recommend my work. Anyway, after finishing the B-24- I'm going to dedicate myself to editing and selling a Tutorial Kit (DVD combo, booklet and metal parts). Then I want to go back to building small-scale models like I did in my early years, in 1:24, 1:32, and 1:48 scale. That way I will be able to build some models that I never had the opportunity to build before, in less time and at lower prices (these models, like the B-24, are VERY expensive! The price is equivalent to three years of salary of a professional modeler in the USA). Thank you for your support.

Saludos.

Hello Sir. Thank you very much for the holiday greetings and your subscription. I also want to send you my best wishes for this year 2025. My last three models were the Zero, the Stuka and the Liberator. Each one took me three years of work. My first models, built about 35 years ago, took me between 40 and 50 days to build each. It was a long road to get here. Now I will dedicate myself to writing about my experiences and making tutorials. Thank you for your support.
Greetings from Canada. It is a great day to see more of your superb work. Your research, planning, fabrication and assembly, is quite frankly, astonishing. Thank you for sharing.
What a engineering and machinist feat. Glorious. This is better than 99% of the models displayed at the air and space museum in balboa park. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for the kind comment, sir. Unfortunately the owner of Fine Art Models, a company I worked for 14 years, decided to sell a collection of 15 of my original one-off models (including the big B-17G in 1:15 scale) to a collector residing in Malaysia. In this way, the possibility of having all those models gathered in the Smithsonian Air&Space Museum, the Museum of the US Air Force or another aviation museum in this country, was lost.
Michelangelo is venerated and will be for the rest of human history. But this, this is a greater work of art than anything he slapped on a church ceiling or chipped out of rock. I'm a maker too. I've designed and scratch built things, so I absolutely recognise and appreciate the effort that goes into a build like this. It's the little details that would by-in-large go unnoticed by the majority. The tiny stencilled writing. The tiny brackets holding a hose. The accurate runs of rivets. Those things are noticed and appreciated. Audermars Piguet would be charging 50k for this level of craft. This build is no less valuable. Thank you for making me realise I've got some miles to tread before I can be truly satisfied with my own work.
Sir, I thank you very much! You are putting into words what I always tried to demonstrate in my models. Correctly detailing a model that represents a historical machine does not mean filling it with wires and small pieces of sui generis shape without meaning or proportion. That requires investing a lot of time in research and also understanding what "catches our eye". A good aeronautical mechanics manual from the 30s or 40s costs almost the same as a plastic modeling magazine, and what you learn is hundreds of times more useful. In your case, obviously you realize the same thing, and you also work from scratch, which leads you to analyze, investigate on your own and build without following the current fashion in modeling, which makes thousands of models around the world look almost identical because the modelers apply the same "trending techniques". Thank you for the comment!
Saludos cordiales.

I'm speechless...
Thank you for your support, Tyler!
The scratch built community is not as popular as plastic modeling, but if you have the possibility to go to an exhibition of engineering models, you will be amazed.
thanks for watching the video, sir.
“Cuando Dios cree un cielo nuevo y una tierra nueva, Dios te dará un trabajo….”
¿Recuerdas esta frase de un admirador de tus obras de arte?
Si no te conociera, diría que venís de otro planeta!!!
El mejor modelista del mundo.
El Nº1.
Te admiro Guille!!!
Fer, recuerdo esa frase sobre todo porque me la recordás vos ❤️❤️❤️
Your work is beyond words! This might be the single greatest model I've seen in my almost 40 yrs of modeling.
Thank you for the nice comment, Bryan.
The Keebler Magic? 😂. Thank you for the nice message, Chris.
Your work is truly exceptional. I offer you my utmost respect and admiration.
Thank you for your support, Istvan.
I think it is the better and detail scratches build ever. Fantastic works!
Yank, thank you for the nice comment!
This is the most phenomenally built model I have ever seen, absolutely stunning, the patience needed must be off the scale, thank you for sharing.
Thank you for the nice comment, David.
OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! which is an understatement, but the only word I can think of at the moment. Just WOW!!
Thank you, sir
I thought I could build models. This is so far beyond anything I've ever done, I cannot even approach close. The talent, patience and passion for this kind of craftsmanship is uniquely rare. My respect to you sir. 🍻
Sir, thanks a lot for watching the video and the kind comment.
Astonishing artistry of the very highest order.
Thanks for the nice comment, sir.
Superb craftsman. Incredible concentration and integrity. The very best I’ve ever seen. Truly excellent.👍🏻🇬🇧
Mike, I appreciate the kind words. Thank you.
Holy Cow! Just wonderful. So glad you came out with another one.
Thank you for your support, sir!
Amazing!!! Show us how you build these models, that would be awesome! How you work with the metal sheet.. what techniques you use
Thanks, Ovidiu. My "tutorial kit" (combo DVD+instruction book+hardware), will be ready for the public once I finish my work on the B-24. If you want information on this matter, please write to my private email, which you will find on my website >contact. www.rojasbazan.com
@@rojasbazan Thanks! I will!! :) When do you think that will be?
I don't know what to say except it is a Bazan aircraft. That says it all. Perfection in craftsmanship and always mind-blowing detail like no other
Thank you, Ralph; I really appreciate your kind comment.
Stunning level of craftsmanship.
Thank you, sir.
I wonder how this is even humanly possible ! I'd spend days just watching you performing that witchcraft ; no doubt this is something totally mesmerizing.
The main difference being you are clearly way more fluent than I'll ever be 😉
Ah, the master has finished another work of art. Glad to see you're still around and making the best models in the world!
Nikolai, that was really thoughtful of you! And thank you for your support!
That already crosses the threshold from model making to art. A wonderful, incredible work ... my absolute respect !!
Y really appreciate your comment, sir.
Steven, thank you for the kind words. I don't know if I'll ever be able to build a Sunderland, but I want you to win the lottery.
There are no words to describe how wonderful this build is!!!! Mind blowing model !!!! Modeling and metal craftsmanship of the highest order!!!!!
Thank you very much for the kind comment sir.
Without a doubt that should de in a museum. I don't know what else to say other than WOW!!
The 467th commissioned it for a museum. Thanks for watching, Brent.
This gives me inspiration and anxiety at the same time. Any single piece is so detailed and meticulously made, it just boggles , my mind.
Wow, just wow!
Sir, I appreciate you sharing your thoughts.
Great attention to detail. One wants to crank up those radials and fly her off.
I have flown on a B-24 J and it was a thrill.
Thank you for the comment, sir.
just the photography is amazing . The building is beyond amazing !!!
Thank you, Anthony; I am glad you liked the video.
Please, rojas ,could you put up some more clips of your workmanship .its beautiful.i will never be able to have one of your beautiful models because I can't afford them ,but the process of you making such a work of art would be a gift.thank you
Christopher, after finishing the B-24, I will dedicate myself exclusively to working on a Tutorial Kit, which will be a combination of video, brochure and semi-finished aluminum parts. This is an old project and the time has come to do it.
Molte Grazie, Giovanni.
If I had a tenth of your talent I would feel accomplished, truly a master of your chosen path!
Wow!
Thank you for your kind message, Russell.
No words. Just, wow.
So cool that you are still going strong with these projects. Thank you for documenting the process for us to see!
My father was in the SAAF and was a Bombardier on a B-24 I still have his flight log book , fantastic piece of art well done.
This model is built not only to honor the 467th, but for all the crews that served aboard the B-24s, like your beloved father.

Thank you very much sir. I see that you understand very well what this work is about. I really appreciate your comment.
This is insane, it’s the best model work i’ve ever seen in my life! Something to look up to
