Don't let go. It is worth it, you are worth it. My DOS is 11/14/04. Get to a meeting or go to zoom meetings online. Make contact with other people that are trying to stay clean as well. One day at a time.
It gets easier. You are worth it

Is it 8 days now?
I've got 3 days after going 6 years sober amd relapsed with binge drinking.
I wish people in my life could understand me the way 2 addicts can understand each other.
Yea I get that. The 24 seven access to social media, porn dating website, and the ability to just swipe left is ruining people when it comes to social connection.

Doesn’t matter, they will relapse extremely soon. You have to want to stay sober
@@BroDude0 no one truly wants to be sober. If any addict could trade addiction to be able to recreationally use drugs they would.
I'm a veteran, was actually addicted to alcohol and cigarettes. Alcohol and cigarettes addiction destroyed my life, i suffered severe depression and mental disorder. Got diagnosed with cptsd. Not until my wife recommended me to psilocybin mushrooms treatment. Psilocybin treatment saved my life honestly. 8 years totally clean. Much respect to mother nature the great magic shrooms.
I love hearing great life changing stories like this. I want to become a mycologist because honestly mushrooms are the best form of medicine (most especially the psychedelic ones) There are so many people today used magic mushrooms to ween off of SSRI medication- its amazing! Years back i wrote an entire essay about psychedelics. they saved you from death buddy, lets be honest here.
Hey mates! Can you help with the source? I suffer severe anxiety, panic and depression and I usually take prescription medicine, but they don't always help. Where can I find those psilocybin mushrooms? I'm really interested in treating my mental health without Rxs. I live in Australia don't know much about these. I'm so glad they helped you. I can't wait to get them too. Really need a reliable source 🙏
YES very sure of mycologist Predroavaro. This treatment worked for me. Helped me got rid of my anxiety and BPD.
Thanks for sharing your story. That's rough I sympathize. Save your health save your mind. Life is better without heroin, cocaine, alcohol and cigarettes. And you have more money in your pocket. God bless everyone who has rejected the devils intentions to be addicted to alcohol and cigarettes etc which can cause so much damage to health. I will pray for you all.
How do I reach out to him? Is he on insta
I love Theo, he's so honest with his addictions and downfalls. He's so genuine. It really helps people relate and know that they're not alone with their addiction to porn and the way it affects your life.
true, besides being really funny Theo is great for that

is porn an addiction per say. i mean is masterbating before bed an addiction no most would say its healthy . yet if your single do you all think its healthier to think about past ex periences? cos guys dont imagine things like women
@@aarondavid5866porn can be an addiction. If you’re spending all day thinking about when you’re gonna watch porn and what porn you’re going to watch, you’re addicted. It also can ruin sex in a relationship because sex becomes more of a performance and you want to recreate what you see in porn. I quit 3 years ago and it’s the best thing I’ve ever done

Stay strong, Theo. I admire you for your authenticity and versatility.
I love it when men have open dialogs like this, it validates me as a women, when I hear men admit their weaknesses and it is so amazing when they reach a point of maturity and seak out other men to grow with. ❤❤ and men are so funny about it too. 😂

@@getstuk87I'll chime in my 2 cents (+25 yrs) everybody is struggling in one or more areas of their life. Sometimes it can't be seen from the outside. One of the advantages of going to 12 step meetings is you can hear about others, some with significant clean time, and the challenges and solutions they have found, in many different areas of life, spiritual, physical etc..
8 months on the 10th of April went to the hospital in western Canada to get into rehab early. Asking begging to help turned away security broke my back. My days r over never fuken use again! Lol
You go Shaggy!!!! You're a bad mofo dude 👍👍👍
@@getstuk87The brain uses drugs for a reason, and it's terrified to be off of them for that same reason. I'm sure you've experienced the crazy leaps of logic it will come up with to justify "what about just this once" a hundred times. Your question sounds like a brain terrified to face sobriety, which is super common and nothing to be ashamed of, but it's scrambling to come up with a justification on why you shouldn't try. And it decided on "maybe it's impossible, and it could never work for me, so it would be a waste of time" as its reason. But that's just fear; it's a way of delegating authority and saying "Ah, okay. It's because I'm Type F, or whatever, so it's not my fault. It's out of my control, and not my responsibility to improve". Let's say you're never 22 years sober. Let's say every three months you fall off the wagon. That's still 3 months of not using! Over a year that's still three quarters of a year you're clean! Spread out further, that's three quarters of the rest of your life that's yours. That's way better than zero!
You should try, because even moderate success is worth it. Find a group to support you, try a different one if the first doesn't work for you. Trying and failing at three systems and succeeding at the fourth is still success, and you never would have found the fourth without the first three attempts. It's all part of the solution, even the failures along the way.

When Dan explained the "same feeling" he got when doing the "house tour" as waiting on his dealer to "give him a bump" I completely resonated with that. A scenario I was familiar with was waiting to be served at a bar. That impatience. That frustration like hurry up. In my opinion he was practicing some form of mindfulness practice like meditation at that time of his life when he had the "house tour" to have conciously realised that same feeling / connecting the trigger dots. Inspiring and informative. Thanks for uploading this.

dax is such a big inspiration for my sobriety, hes one of the few who are dead honest about relapses and falling off the wagon here and there, because so many people and groups and treatment centers make you feel BAD for making a mistake as opposed to asking why and just accepting it was a mistake, i know from experience and as time goes by Dax looks healthier, sounds healthier and seems to be in a great place again. Its awesome to see
Being on nicotine is not sober

I put nicotine on the same level as caffeine. Maybe not for everyone, but for me it was. What made nicotine so harmful was the fact that the tobacco industry mixed it with carcinogens. In vape form its much less harmful.
This honesty is refreshing.

Dax’s shooting that test and working out like a maniac. A new addiction, but much better than opioids.

Sugar withdrawal is no joke! I’ve been there. Keep on trying it gets better.
Same. Sugar addiction and caffeine. I myself couldn’t go a day without sweet tea or cola. I only remember just feeling irritated or feeling like I’m missing something when I didn’t make a gallon of sweet tea. I was tricking myself by thinking in my head, I’m not putting tons of sugar, so I’m doing good👍🏼. Except I’m drinking sugar in high amounts regardless daily. I started sweet tea to stop my cola addiction. But ya basically just substituting one sugar addiction for another.
Don’t try opioids or benzos😂
Try putting sugar in a baggie and medical tape to your body, I’ve heard that works…also if you up your fats in your diet, may help.

Hearing Theo say "Binaca" makes my day, because NOBODY where I'm from remembers that shit and they always look at me like I'm crazy if I reference it.

When that swell of craving hits me it's torture. It usually stays with me for 2 days or so and I can't stop thinking about the drug even though I don't want it at all. Sober for 2 years and it still hits me hard.

“Like a collective sigh” and “I know what it’s like to fuck up in that exact way” almost made me cry. Real connection is what helps us. Sometimes I’ll wake up from a flash back type nightmare to the worst days of my life, and sitting in bed alone for the next 10 or 20 minutes is so hard to decide alone, I’m gonna get up and ignore the fact that I’ve fucked up before. Even if everyone does it being in your own head and feeling alone is so hard.
Let's hear it for trading one addiction for another!! It's the small steps.
These two are so self aware. I wish everyone was like this.
I'm seven days in. I've been on and off through this whole year. I turned 31 this year but all my 20's were shit faced most of it. I didnt struggle with my dad being a shit faced drunk or occasional and truly gave an example to not do it. I've come to realize that him having 3 male kids, down the line they would become fathers and role models so he laid a truly foundation for us to stay down that line. I became a dad on my 28th birthday with a beautiful daughter exactly on my birthday, we share the same exact date, Im not going to lie that ever since she's being on this earth Ive dranked and I realize I cant no longer go down that route anymore. I now have a calendar in front of this computer labeled each days and every day it says do not drink. I checked every day and just remind myself that only for today I will not drink. Im now committed and I don't want to throw away all that effort. I listen to theo, rich roll, Jordan Peterson. I don't have any drug addictions. I just need to break free from this chain. stay strong fellas. do something else.
Clean since 2018

I have always liked Dax Shepard. I respect him for being so open about his issues.
“Make coke great again” Theo is one of one😂

The way theo describes the group dynamic in recovery is perfect. Its such a weird feeling. Especially if youve never experienced it before, which loads of us havent.
Theo's podcast is like Alcoholics Anonymous for people who don't wish to remain anonymous.
When Theo first asked Dax to do the pod, Dax said, "Go away. I'm baitin'!
I love the connection I feel to these men in this conversation. I've been addicted to alcohol weed nicotine and porn for 30 something years now and I'm finally realizing the pain involved. It's a multi faceted pain. Mental emotional, physical, spiritual. I asked myself how much pain can I withstand so I can feel awesome for a little while. It's just not worth it. Besides, sober joy is so much better and there's no hangover. ❤

Really love this openness and down to earth vibe. I've been struggling feeling like I just take subtle and not so subtle punches from people all day, simply because I'm a straight (half) white male in 2024. I just want to meet people where they are and move forward as unified human family, but everyone wants a war. Good to remember that life isn't about people pleasing, it's about going through whatever is going to happen and channeling it into your masterpiece.
I love listening to Dax talk about those self-awareness moments where he realized the exact same sensation in a different behavior. It's so familiar and relatable. The brain is such a tricky clever bag of meat to find creative new ways of getting us to that dissociation through other means. Theo, what you said at the end about the inability to see into the future really clicked to me and reminded me of the time blindness of ADHD that comes with executive dysfunction. Makes me wonder how those things are interacting in our brains. The science of that stuff is really interesting to me.
Whoa. Divine timing. I had no idea about Dax's experience. Both gents get my respect for honest transparency. It makes our own easier.

Alcohol and its grip on my life ruined my relationship at the time and any future with the woman who I thought I was going to have a family with. It left a lot of trust issues and trauma in its path. I've been sober for a little over 4 months, while I can't say being sober is easy; you do learn better coping skills for when your having cravings or when your suffering mentally. I know my sober date but I try not to count the days because its just one more thing that makes me think about using. It's cliché but it really does get better
You're on your way!
I have been clean from vaping and Zyns for 8 months. The hardest part is when I am around friends doing it. That's the only time I think about it. 💯
Great points here, glad they're talking about it because nobody really knows that orgasm is a drug, Marnia robinson teaches karrezza sex perfectly, the simple brain chemistry behind it-

Addiction is addiction, no matter the vice. But also, every thought is not your own. That automatic turn around, that compulsive NEED, is how the demons trick you. Then you give in and because they thirst and cannot drink, hunger and cannot eat, and CRAVE but cannot fulfill...when you succumb to those cravings, THEY get high, or get sex. And continuing that addiction keeps them around. Thus the spiritual battle continues.... repent (turn away from) and rebuke...life gets good again! The term battling your demons is much more real then most people understand...

A lot of people don't understand that addiction is deeper than the substance. There are thoughts, patterns, and habits that need to be broken and reprogrammed. That's why you can be an addict that's never touched a drp of alcohol or illegal drugs.
