After replacing my old Suunto Core I finally decided to replace the silicon strap with paracord bands. It was the best decision I have made with the watch as it's just as comfortable as the silicon strap but a lot more durable while still looking great. Haven't had to replace the band in years and has been through my hiking, canoeing, and other outdoor adventures.
review is spot on. the silicone strap lasts one year with normal use. it may be because I never take it off including showering ect.. the silicone degrades and begins to tear. upgraded to the Traverse Alpha with the Zulu. I will say that the silicone strap is more comfortable and is a tradeoff when it comes to durability. Edit: be aware that the cheap bands on amazon may not be silicone, but instead made of cheap chinesium rubber.
just got it replace for MYR16.00 only...just took it out after a lot of years in my box storage...now bought another yellow colour strap for my suunto...in the picture look good...hopefully will look nice went it arrive on the 26may2024
Hey, I've had my core for 3.5 years and replaced the strap 4 times. Went the Suunto genuine strap 1st, $60 here in Australia. The next few I went the $ 12 option and to be honest, it looks good and is just as durable as the genuine one. Durable meaning a year lol. I've just bought some fixed lugs and a NATO strap to try as I've had enough replacing these straps. Great watch and the rubber strap looks and feels great but it's design is poor. As soon as it gets the slightest of a tear in it, it's fkd. Shame since the watch is great. Cheers
