That would've been much more interesting that the flat love triangle portrayed in the film. Penelope was one of the only great things about this movie besides the Italian backdrop and the car racing.
It’s a Hollywood movie...not a documentary...the Mustang was introduced at the 1964 NY Worlds Fair not Riverside...The spanned toss by Miles never happened...etc....etc.... still a good movie if factually inconsistent
When I went to see the movie in Cinema's my eyebrows were raised slightly when they mentioned the possibility of selling to Ford or Fiat even in the 1950's. It was a nice link to Ford v Ferrari but I wasn't aware until seeing this that it wasn't true and just for theatrics. Seriously though you could watch Ferrari, then Ford v Ferrari and then Rush and it would be a nice little trilogy right there covering the 50's, 60's and 70's.
5:52 Enzo Ferrari earned the nickname "Satrun" due to the number of racing drivers who died while in his employ. Not even the horrific events of monza 1968 in which Wolfgang Von Tripps and 15 spectators were killed changed his attitude. It wouldn't be until the death of his star driver and best friend Gilles Villeneuve in 1981 that he changed h8s attitude towards his drivers.
Thank you for the update, WatchMojo..!! I heard Mr. Lamborghini was originally a tractor manufacturer, but he got upset by what Mr. Ferrari said.. so he create another super car brand..(?)
Just saying now, the story could have continued to what also happened next year in 1958 when his 3 main drivers, Luigi Musso, Peter Collins and Mike Hawthorn were all killed, and even more so when you look at how fierce the rivalry between the two Brits and Musso was, not for on track issues, but off track. Perhaps it could make a good story for another movie...
The financial insecurity was probably invented to give some kind of dramatic tension, but it ends up downplaying Enzo's obsession and single mindedness by giving him a reasonable motive. It also unfairly paints Laura as a threat to the company's success and to Enzo's relationship with Piero. Just conflict for the sake of conflict.
What the hell was with the crashes of this movie, every time a car would crash, it would fly high in the air as if it were moving at 350mph, was the one in charge of the crash vfx a south Indian?
Ferrari was a good movie. I saw the movie with my little brother, who is a fan of cars, on Christmas 2023. Funny that the Fiat calling Ferrari would later be shown in Ford V Ferrari (even though both movies are non-canon).
Enzos wife was a typical passed middle aged Italian wife. Not the attractive young star in the movie. It was also her who went to the Italian G.P. in his stead, to the mechanics and drivers couldn't stand her medaling. At the Mille Miglia cars run against the clock and seldom even see each other on the road. In '57 there was only one 450 S entered for Moss which broke a few miles from the start.
Imma car nerd and for movies like this, Ford v Ferrari, Rush etc I want both historical accuracy (mostly because I already know the story) and racing accuracy. I couldn't care less that's it's not more engaging to the unwashed masses.
You should put “Grand Prix” (1966) and “Le Mans” (1971) on you list. Enzo Ferrari did not want anything to do with the movie Grand Prix until he was shown parts of the movie, then he gave access to filming scenes at the factory and using the Ferrari name! Le Mans uses real footage and cars from the actual race. Ford vs Ferrari was “ok”, a lot of the racing scenes were bad, very “Days of Thunder” like. Richard Petty said when asked about the realism in Days of Thunder: “Well, the cars had numbers on them”. I feel the same was about Ford vs Ferrari.
@@ericmiller5113 GP and LeMans are pretty danged accurate already. Why would I put them on a list of movies that need much more accuracy and much less hollywood??
Accuracy is important the clothes, types of slang don't like modern words being used in period settings, the cars the hairstyles, shoes and technology people grew up in the era will see mistakes.
Great to hear you enjoyed the movie! 🏎 What aspects did you find particularly impressive or memorable? Share your favorite moments or characters with us!
Yes, I care a lot about historical accuracy in biopics. I remember seeing 'JFK' (1991) and believed in the conspiracy. Decades later, when I saw a documentary about the Warren Report, Oliver Stone's movie seems like a fantasy to me now.
Answering your question: Yeah, totally. If it didn’t had fictional facts it would be a documentary. Take some liberties but not to the point where you are disappointed because just the names are real and not the whole story. Dope movie, go watch btw
ANother nonsense comparison. It's a BIo Pic. Yoi can short 84 years in 2 hours It's an US movie with US actors. Obviously it is in English.... Pathetic.

Love your content guys❤❤❤
me too
Love It WatchMojo.
Historical accuracy should be the only thing that is important when making a movie about an actual event.
I've met Enzo.
He used to stay at my dads place on Palm Beach...taught me how to roll gnocchi off of the fork when I was a kid in the early 70's.
Woah... Such an honor
I do wish they had included more about Ferrari’s legal troubles following the Portago crash, as that seems like a significant part of the story.
movie would be too long and would turn into a Judiciary movie
That would've been much more interesting that the flat love triangle portrayed in the film. Penelope was one of the only great things about this movie besides the Italian backdrop and the car racing.
I like historical accuracy. I hate when I find out later about something in a supposed true historical documentary that is not true.
Its 50% right and 30% wrong
“True historical” documentaries are more often than not the wrongest.
Agreed look at American Gangster Franks parents were involved as well.
this is not documentary

Yes, get the worst one out of the way first.
I did this recently. It works really well even though Enzo himself appears less in each movie.

The MilleMiglia had FEW open roads. It was mostly short quick roads, then twisty roads through small villages or towns.

Absolutely correct.
Historical accuracy in entertainment movies is not critical, but abject bullshit detracts from it.
Just what I wanted to know after watching the movie. Thank you.

Yes. Accuracy in a historical docu drama is necessary as much as it’s relevance
Historical accuracy is nice. But a clean well flowing movie is better in my opinion

still, I like the direct communication between them in the movie.
No sweet talk, straight and ruthless. 😆

Thanks for useful and valuable video as always ❤❤❤
Ferrari is my favourite car brand in the world because I think the cars are very beautiful to look at

Honestly I wished this movie ended with him gearing up for le man
The video is awesome

Great movie
Thank For the Video 🙊🤯🥰😍😁💗💐🌟🥇🏆
Enzo in Palm Ferrari in Beach ? He never left Italy. Hollywood loves action cartoons. Like cars flying thru the air.
I saw it was good

The idea to sell Ferrari came few years later. Why did they put this in the movie when it's already depicted in another one???

I’m okay with some movie being historical but leaving stuff out because it’s a movie not an autobiography.
Hello good afternoon
Overall, I enjoyed the Film.
Its 50% right and 30% wrong
I liked it.
It was a good film, but the crash scenes? That was not good at all
Why?
Cool video, but waaaay too many freaking ads.. Pass on subscribe
Still better than Napoleon
Movie would have been better in Italian
Fr same with Lamborghini
Assolutamente!!
Hai ragione. Or if it has to be in English, why the accents?
Ferrari's wife is portrayed as quite the shrew.
Yes. It’s very important to keep films historically accurate, otherwise Americans get their historical facts all wrong.
Carn’t believe it’s the same womens voice after all these years
'Aren't believe' ??
