This seems like a weird comparison, at least over here in New Zealand. The G923 is almost half the price of the T300 RS here, which is again almost half of the price of the CSL Elite.
@@axelode45 At that price point I would be looking at the T150/TMX pro-versions; comes in about 500kr cheaper than g923, has better drive-chain, comes with T3PA pedals and access to Thrustmaster's ecosystem.
Something to keep in mind is that all three of these wheels come in at very different price points. We're talking hundreds of dollars in difference. I have a G29 (which is the same as 923 but even cheaper right now) and I have been blown away by how good it is for the money. SO if you came from like the cheap toy level racing wheels when you were a kid like I did, it is a perfect entry to see if you even like doing sim racing.
Same here I love my G29. I have around 1000hrs on it with zero wear and zero deterioration in performance. 500 hours of that was 100% force feed back play in Beam NG , Which has to be pretty dam hard on it.
@@jamalking5347 I would really try to save up a little bit more and get a moza r3. They are much much better for the price and you will have a much better time. Feels more connected to the game. If not that a t300 is better aswell. G29s are not very good.
Here in Mexico you can get the G923 for $225 USD, the T300 for $500 USD and the Fanatec is not even sold here. But privately it’s about $1,000 USD. So, there is no comparison on this wheels.
Same problem here in Brasil, there is no comparison possible since the T300 is almost double the price of the Logitech, and Fanatec does not even have official distributor and warranty here. I currently have a G29 and would love to upgrade to a T300 but its not even possible to consider price wise.
So what? I have resources to get all of them but I don't know if I want to spend so much on a wheel. This, together with different videos, showed me that the Logitech is not an option despite being the cheapest and I'll probably go with the TM 300RS.
@@Ricback2 and what about people who dont have the resources and are on a BUDGET 3 WEEKS OF PAY is not a BUDGET if its budget look at 100- 250$ ones not 350-600$
@@bik3r230 Sim racing is kinda ... not a cheap sport. It's like searching for "budget model rocketry", well rocket's aint cheap. Sim racing ain't cheap either if you really want it to fulfill the "Sim" part of Sim racing. 100-200$ wheel for sim racing is kinda not ... sim racing. They're just wheels with potentiometer and buttons, kinda unreliable, and they're not really simulating anything really. Kinda breaks the whole idea of being a "sim" and it's difficult to decide which wheel from the $100 range is better, because they're all kinda really cheapy for this kind of sport and do not compete much on anything. Just to give you an idea, the wheels at $300 budget range have feedback that simulate the real feel of driving a car. It's what makes this a sim racing, and not just playing NFS in your xbox 360 controller. The low budget market in sim racing is $300-600, and on mid budget it can go as high as $2.000-10.000. It's not a cheap sport. If you just want a wheel to turn, go for $100-200 range, nothing wrong with that. But it's not really sim racing. It's more of an arcade gaming.
I went from a g27 to g29. I was very unimpressed with the “upgrade”. It felt like the same wheel with even the same dead zone int the center. I bit the bullet abd got a csl elite with the pedals. Changed my sim world experience overnight. The base force feed back is not even close to these other two. The csl kills it. There’s almost no dead zone in wheel unlike Logitech’s. And the force feed is almost unexplainable, you feel every little detail and I find it much easier to catch slides before u enter a spin. But the biggest improvement came from the break pedal. I hated those drivers who would outbreak you and be under you before you got to a corner but now I understand why. Finding the hardest pressure you can apply while not locking up tires is rather easy with fanatec. I felt like on my Logitech it was a guessing game. Overall your times won’t change much from the wheel over the others but your love it more and spin a lot less, the real time you pick up on track is from the pedals. 3x the price 10x the upgrade value. If you can afford it and are thinking about it. Get it.
@@tylerblake3596 I did not. I got outta gt racing kinda fast and didn’t have need for it on ovals. The foam does a incredible job of giving you progressive pressure so if your casual or an oval racer is still far better than and Logitech pedal. If u heavy break then the load cell would pay its self off pretty easily. I preordered the new csl dd and will be ordering a set of their v3 pedals for that wheel just because I want the load cell in the break. After over a year with the csl pedals I’m really for an upgrade. Same advise. If you can afford it and want it you won’t regret it and im sure you’re notice the difference instantly.
@@MikeHoncho24ever gotcha. I’ve had my g29 for a little while and am considering getting something else. Was looking at the CSL elite but they’re impossible to find now. Also kind of just wanted to upgrade pedals first and load cell is essential for me as I do mostly circuit racing with GT cars. Now I just need to figure out if I should do a mod for my g29 pedals or just upgrade... was considering the CSL elite LC’s
@@tylerblake3596 they are heavy and very well built with almost no plastic. Get the usb connector and you can use them with any wheel. Fanatec have also announced a even cheaper version with load cell option. Might be worth waiting for
I got into sim racing back in the mid 2000's. I had a G25 and the G27 and the original fanatec wheel had only came out when i had to move and therefore didnt have space for my rig so i basically gave up on that stuff. Recently i'm getting the urge to get back into it, and the G29 seems just like the G25 but with some extra buttons. Pretty bloody underwhelming. On the other hand, the new fanatec stuff looks next level compared to what was around in 2010. But god damn, that shit is expensive! Here in aus, for wheel, base, and pedals is over $2k! that's nuts. But i got no choice, i have to start saving up for it
I own a Logitech G29. I know it has its short comings but the thing I love is the top mounted securing system. I can slide this thing along my desk, into and out of position in a matter of seconds. Its not perfect but works great for me. I wish other wheel bases had this option.
@@TheAidil999 u wot m8, thrustmaster clamp is shit for ease of use compared to logitech, own thrustmaster tx (same wheel as 300 just for xbox nd 900°) and had logitech. That thrustmaster clamp is a joke, You absolutely need to grease threads and the bolt itself (wd40 worked fine for me),if you dont grease it u cant even tighten it properly, good luck playing rally games with unsecure clamp... Saying u decided to greace it up a bit, well when you gonna want to losen it up a bit and move it to a corner of a desk, thats cool, next time you will want to clamp it, its gonna spin on you, wiggle side to side till you tighten it up in its place. Both clamps are shit, but I would go back to logitech clamp system.
But you have to watch all the time at those fragile wires to not destroy them. Mounting often is not reliable anyway no matter the product. The solution is mounting it once on a stand and move that stand in and out of your desk.
"These wheels are all within the same price range about 400 USD"....mentioned on UA-cam. The real price: The CSL Elite as shown in the video 699 USD, the Logitech G923 is 367 USD for PS5/4 and 243 USD for Xbox One, the Thrustmaster T300 RS is 399 USD. So this video is about 2/3 correct. However, the UA-camr scalping is real on that CSL Elite. Same thing happens in any collective hobby, UA-camr talks about it, price goes up.
I think it's not only about marketing, CSL Elite generates 6nm compared to 3nm from T300. Also it's 30mm diameter instead of 28mm, more precise, revlights.. etc.
i bought my brand new g29 for about 350$, and my t300RS gt edition for 299$, both from amazon via official seller. this was just under a year ago, which is suprising.
Would love a fanatec wheel but every time i look up they are sold out. Had a preorder hanging for over 6months overdue before i gave up at one point. And even in europe the fanatec price is like 2,5 times the T300, soo yeah hmm.
Yeah, after they stopped boundle csl kit which was like 500$, they did wheel base (400), wheel (250), and pedals (100). Absolute scam. T300rs is 2.5 times cheaper, and not that worse tbh, maybe pedals are a little bit worse.
It’s great I love it. Has strong force feedback so you have to tone it down. It’s sturdy doesn’t feel cheap at all. I don’t have anything bad to say as it’s my first wheel
@@dylansmith7219 i have the Tx , which is the equivalent of the T300 , even the firmware is the same for this two! The difference is one for PC/PS4 , the other is for PC/XBOX . I ended up getting the Sparco P310 Gt wheel add on and first upgraded the pedals to one with clutch then replaced it with TLCM load cell . The later really makes the difference ! Game changer if you ask me! But as a base , the TX or T300 is solid ! I have one for over 7 years and never had a problem with it! On earlier firmware , couple tx burned .The fan only turned on when the motor reached certain temperature. With later update you could force the fan to keep it on all times. I had a Logitech wingman and a Moomo to compare, they are gear driven , they fall Short .
G920 user here, have to say that the gear driven logitech wheels just do not cut it. You will be left wanting more, it's a good wheel to learn on but it is not a satisfactory lifetime use wheel IMO. The steering is not smooth really at all and, again in my opinion feels nothing like a real car (purely in terms of smoothness) The force feedback and response is good, it's just that one thing that leaves me not being able to recommend this to anyone. I can't comment on trueforce though, everything else about the wheel mechanically is the same as the g920. Oh, and the logitech gaming software is probably the biggest tech nightmare I've ever had to deal with. It barely works.
@@mikeyyyy8726 It never worked for me. Could hardly get the wheel to work at all in half the games I have, and setting a custom rotation setting virtually never worked which made doing arcade emulation impossible. Eventually it did iron out though, last time I used the wheel the software worked fine.
@@coffinbunnyzoey Oh that's weird, I've never had this issue. Although I've only just recently bought this wheel (like 5 months ago) so maybe (and hopefully) those issues were fixed recently in an update or something.
@@mikeyyyy8726 That's good, hope you don't have any issues down the line. It is likely they fixed a bunch of stuff cause it had been a while since I had any problems, but I figured it was cause I started just sticking to 1 or 2 sims
@@coffinbunnyzoey Thanks mate, I’m glad that you’re not experiencing any more problems and can hopefully enjoy sim racing even more now. Hopefully Logitech keeps improving the software in the future without anymore problems. 🙌
Owned a t300 and the 923. But I feel I upgraded when I went to the csl and I’m happy. I play on ps5 and the option to adjust the settings on the wheel is legit really can dial in games.
The mounting clamp on the G series are good when you know how to do it and not over tighting it.I have a g27 that not move compare to the t300. You need at least 2,5-3cm thickness to clamp it right. They added rubber pads on this one apparently, maybe that reduce the minimum thickness. When using a wood box to prevent the pedals moving, the thrustmater one flip over on heavy breaking. The logitech don't flip over. The "loose" center by default on the T300 is a bit confusing to do very little movements steering/counter-steering.A dead zone on the g923 will come over time, cause it's still dual motor from my expectation, maybe i'm wrong.
Yes, it is better and more reliable than Thrustmaster version (I had both). This dude is biased or has no clue. I bet for first one since he did not correctly mounted G923.
You’re going to get better performance with the Thrustmaster.. but keep in mind it’s a belt system , so with many hours of use there is a chance that it may run you problems. For example my T300 will give out its force feedback randomly at times, I read online that it could be the motor giving out. Not to mention the shifter is $250 if you’re going with thrust. Logitech G923 you’re going to get a quality wheel that will last , and they fixed the brakes from the G920 so they’re not bad at all now with a proper setup.
@@KMZOFF No. I've had to replace the wheelbase on mine twice in a year. Sold that piece of junk and bought the G923. If it's anything like my old G27 it'll last basically as long as you want to use it, they're bulletproof to the nth. Value is based just as much on durability as to what you pay. You get what you pay for in a good way with Logitech and a bad way with the Thrustmaster.
I have owned G29, T300RS and Fanatec Clubsport 2.5. Thrustmaster wins. I went from G29 to Clubsport but had to have the clubsport wheel replaced within a month then the base repaired a month after that......so poor quality. Then got the T300RS and has been great. Also the constant beta firmware updates with fanatec that are recommended drive me crazy. T300RS I installed once and never look back. G29 was good entry level but noisy and weak. I have kept the CSL pedals with loadcell though which can work with T300RS via USB.
Perfect thanks, I have that combination (t300- and csl pedals with loadcell) and I was thinking of going to fanatec csl wheel... Tha nis for your experience...
@@noestoydebroma No problem. I hope my experience doesn't deprive you from a 'better wheel' this was just my very bad experience with Fanatec. I watch some of the reviews of the new CSL DD and people put sooo much hype into them. It's as if they want Fanatec to love them and send them free stuff. You can't 'feel individual bits of gravel' even in a real car😄. Still got my T300RS and will keep until it blows up.
@@SnD340 i went for the ts-xw, and i really like it. It feels like a t300 on steroids basically. Very similiar feeling, but faster, stronger, more responsive, and more precise. I can definitely recommend this wheel, if you like the feeling of thrustmaster force feedback. As for what to go for in your shoes, i can't say for sure. I would probably go for a bigger upgrade, so ts-xw, or csl dd. T300 is also a great wheel, don't get that wrong. Csl dd will be the most expensive, but also probably will give you the best force feedback. Definitely get the stronger power supply, if you go for csl dd. For me, i'm very happy with the ts-xw, and don't see needing an upgrade anytime soon. Also one thing to consider is pedals. I use the t-lcm load cell pedals, and they were a huge upgrade from the t-3pa pedals. Load cell brake opens alot of lap time, since you can be way more precise, and consistent with your braking.
Plus side to that is you can find ts xw or ts pc servo base's in the 400 dollar range if you already have thrustmaster wheels and pedals. Another plus is sim racing gear seems to hold its value quite well. I see g29's and t150's listed at 70-80% of the brand new price. There's is a lot of good deals out there if you look and wait patiently. I got lucky with mine, found a t300rs with conquer cockpit, It was listed for 300 then lowered to 250 so jumped on it. I see similar set up going for double that. I found a set of tlcm pedals for 179 on amazon open box and then got fanatec shifter which was the most expensive thing I got actually lol. If I happen to find a fanatec elite, fanatec csw 2.5 or even a t gt base come up for sale for a good price IL jump on it but if not I will eventually upgrade to a fanatec csl elite dd pro for ps4. Maybe some other affordable dd bases will come out before then bit for now my t300 is great. Definitely a superior wheel to any logitech.
Here in Portugal, seems like we get cheaper logitech components while thrustmaster is definitely pricier. Heck, when the G29 launched i waited a few months on black friday i got the wheel for 225 euros(265USD), shifter 50 euros(59USD). The logitech T300rs stayed at the same price 399 euros(470USD) pretty much until about 2 years ago where it finally had a price drop. Oh and black friday was a joke, it always remained at the same price despite black friday. And that was the basic T300rs with the pedals without clutch. The one with clutch was 100 euros(118USD) more. And the thrustmaster shifter was 149euros(176USD). Which means, the G29 which comes with clutch and the added shifter i paid 275 euros(207USD) If i wanted the same equipments but from thrustmaster i would have paid 648 euros(765,77USD) That's more than triple the price. And before buying it i heard people complaining about loose force feedback when hot, problems with the wheel while logitech just seemed solid. Had a Logitech Formula Force EX which served me really well and was very pleased about the quality. So, in 2016 in black friday i saw a G29 at a reasonable good price and i just couldn't help it, limited offer too. After a lot of research and talking to people online, which i still have nightmares about fanboysm i settled with the G29 and never had a singke problem whatsoever with the wheel and pedals. I did have problems with the shifter but a warranty of 2 years, logitech were forced to give me a new one to a defect. I was extremely happy with my purchase back then and the expression bang for your buck certainly applies here. Hell, i have a feeling this thing will survive 50 years with everyday use.
Nah the trueforce is the main difference which he fails to mention. It’s not supported by all games but those that do you get a much more immersive feeling from the wheel. You can literally feel the engine vibrate when you rev the car. It’s pretty significant but I assume he didn’t play any game that supports trueforce and then obviously it doesn’t feel different from a g920…
Not sure about other places but here in Aus the Fanatec CSL Elite is $500 but that's just the base and dose not include the wheel or pedals and the T300rs GT is $700 with the G923 the cheapest of all at $540
I would probably just get a g923 and if i like sim experience enough then i'll just upgrade straight to direct drive system, kinda pointless to go for "entry level" belt system when you know you'll want more.
Honestly bro people who just say don’t get a G923 are literally people who probably have never touched one and owned a G29. I’ve tried both and the G29 goes so numb after a while and the G923 can last much longer and now in 2023 it’s available on much more games but if you want a less expensive set go for the G920 it’s really the same thing without true force
I have the g923 and it tightens up perfectly on my desk, if i pulled the wheel it would just pull the entire desk over, I don’t have any of the looseness that you seem to have in this video.
Seriously, I've never had any issues with the clamps coming loose on my G923, G27 or the much older G25. Solid mounts here. My guess is the reviewer hates Logitech and couldn't help trying to make it look bad against much more expensive wheels. I will NOT be subbing here.
@@KMZOFF Ive had my tx for over two years. Nearly daily use the entire time. It comes with a full replacement/repair warranty that lasts a year. Never needed to take advantage of it. Great wheel
@@KMZOFF I'm sure people have had bad luck with one here or there but it's actually the most popular and commonly used servo(300) for esports pros. Or so I've read
The g923 has been the same since the G25 even earlier than the g27! They are bulletproof. I only upgraded because they stopped supporting the G25 in the new g-suite
Your affordable is different from others, I just got off the website before reading this and the cheapest setup is like 700 with the wheel and base no pedals.. vs like 250
so i have used the Logitech G920 wheel for a while, 3 years or so i think, and i recently upgraded to the CSL Elite wheel with the nascar wheel, i use it primarily on iracing, not much else but i run alot of things on iracing, dirt oval, asphalt oval, and some road course stuff, i used the Logitech for a while, and i was frequently uncomfortable on the wheel, in almost everything i raced i could never just jump in and race, i always had to spend huge amounts of time messing with settings and other things, also to add on i could just never ever get used to the break pedal, but ill talk more about that later. The Logitech wheel has a weird design its not round its got the bevels and me being a guy with large palms and very short fingers, i was never comfortable unless my hands were 50/50 and that made any form of oval stuff a tremendous pain in the ass, because i had to mess with steering ratio's and offsets every time i raced. One quick positive though, the wheel was incredible on F1 2018-2019! that was until the right paddle stopped working Eventually i found a resolution to my issues with the wheel itself, i managed to find a 14 inch MPI racing wheel for a cheep price, and i purchased the Steel adapter from the MPI website, and what a difference that made but, it came at a sacrifice, because i had to murder my wheel to use it, essentially had to take the wheel off down to the base, i was able to use a few buttons still on the wheel but i ended up getting a button box to solve my issue and that added about 2 pounds of weight to the wheel which made it much feel much more solid, i was never a fan of the way the FFB worked on the logitch wheel either so when i got the mpi i only used it a small amount, but over about 6 months of use the wheel developed alot of play, just from wear and tear, and the MPI mod i made to it just sped up the process. Now i want to touch on the pedals, the pedals suck, and theres no other way to out it, after alot of trial and error i decided to just individually solid mound the pedals and that helped for a bit, but i still just struggled with applying the breaks, eventually i decided to build myself a hanging pedal bracket and initally it was awesome but i realized that the break pedal itself is just junk, so i migrated to using the clutch pedal for breaks and it was a HUGE improvement, but as the play in the wheel got worse and worse i got an opportunity to buy a CSL Elite with pedals and a racing wheel from my friend for $350 and i have nothing but incredible things to say about this wheel, it has improved my iracing experience tenfold! The pedals are nicer, the wheel is nicer to hold, the feel in general is more responsive, more customizable, and just better in general! i recommend Fanitech to anyone who plans on racing alot
This is a terrible review as it doesn't factor in G923's TrueForce capabilities at all. Once you take the G923 through an appropriate TrueForce enabled game such as Dirt 2.0 or Assetto Corsa Competizione, you can never go back to the other steering wheels.
Seems a little unfair to review a Trueforce wheel without actually playing a Trueforce game (such as Snowrunner or Grid). The G923 simulates the actual engine vibration on Trueforce games by analysing the engine note. Food for thought perhaps? 😎
@@AbizW97 At the time.of typing this, Trueforce has now been added to Dirt 2, Euro Truck Simulator 2 and ACC. This isn't going away, this is gaining traction.
Fanatec does not sell this wheel anymore. All they have now are the podium dd1, dd2, and the new CSL DD wheel base ( xbox / pc only ). That lineup is extremely lame.
There's some wrong information here about the Logitech generations. After the G27, there were two different wheels: G29 for PS and PC... G920 for Xbox and PC The video claimed that the G923 (yes, both also have two versions, for PS/PC and Xbox/PC) has the same buttons as the previous generation. But that's only true for the G29, not for the G920. The G920 had far less buttons and also no rev lights. So upgrading from G920 to G923 is much more of an upgrade than from G29 to G923!
I was thinking the same thing haha. How did this guy get all this stuff to review, it doesn't seem like he is really an expert at sim racing. My sister is faster than him on my sim and she is barely on it, I wish I was joking 😂
For a former (who’s never used a wheel setup) Gran Turismo freak who’s looking to get back into GT would Logitech be worth it over a PS4 controller... or should I stick to a controller
Thrustmaster would be the best options tbh. Their t150 Rs pro, or T300Rs. Logitech FFB system underperforms. Any wheel would be better than a controller though.
I have a g29 it’s pretty amazing the only thing is the brake is pretty stiff but I can’t complain too much it crushes my old thrust master 458 wheel that didn’t even have ffb
I got into sim racing back in March of 2020 when the world went into lockdown over the virus. I wasn't sure if I would really get into, and I started off with a cheap $75 wheel from Thrustmaster and playing Assetto Corsa (got a deal on it in Steam). But I found myself hooked on sim racing. But after 4 months, the cheap TM wheel broke. I got my $75 worth of fun out of it. But did some research and the RS300GT from Thrustmaster. I love the wheel and just took my sim racing to another level. Best $400 (with shipping) I ever spent for my sim racing.
g923 +shifter in Poland new 277 USD with superb Brake pedal . T300 with shifter 552 USD without pedal upgrade to better than g923 Fanatec hard to get in Europe ,Just the base is more expensive than t300. After owning G27 , would like an upgrade .Would try T300 but still way more expensive and does not have the great pedals. Then heard about fanatec ,but boy for the extra money for fanatec without clutch and shifter I could have a nice 5.1 Home Cinema (great upgrade for more realism ) I think if you looking for good most budget wheel as sim wheel etc , also for drifting , shifter and clutch is a must ,seems you cant find cheaper wheel for that price and purpose . Only worth mentioning is what sometimes can be a problem ,when using G series late nights or when share a room with somebody ,they can be really loud . Especially when using strong FF (lot of people dont like high FF) or drifting on 900* . Fanatec is for fanatics that use them all the time ,especially in sims and dont mind spending a lot money for sim rig . If you new to virtual racing ,I would suggest try cheaper wheel and see if you will get into it .But if go from controller ,or mouse racing ,you will end up for relative cheap money totally in new world . You wont regret G series .Thrustmaster also . I would keep away from used wheels .Only from good source or from somebody you know. Anyways If you want better experience from g29 the price to experience is getting really high
If you can afford the CSL Elite, go for the CSL Elite. The wheel rims are so much nicer. But then, you get what you pay for. Hopefully the new TM wheel will be cool. It might make the TM ecosystem a bit more worth it.
@@FormulaProg You mean out of stock? It's still in stock on the US Fanatec site. The CSL Elite is the official F1 Esports racing wheel base. I doubt they would discontinue that item. I'm pretty sure that it's one of their top sellers.
I own a standard edition Thrustmaster T150 and it has decent force feedback and is much cheaper than the T-300+. I've had it for years and I consider it a great starter wheel for casual players. The ones you listed are Far too expensive... not what I would call 'budget'
the logitech competes with the thrustmaster t150, the fanatec competes with the thrustmaster ts-pc racer. not really a fair comparison as they are different levels and price ranges.
MW Tech, what is the name of the material you used for your base to mount the seat and everything off of? it looks very modular and I love the clean look of it!
I have a G27 that I used for GT5 & GT6 back in the PS3. I tried the old T500RS a while back, and since then I've always wanted to get a Thrustmaster wheel. Now that I have a PS5 and I'm waiting for GT7, I don't know if I should go for the T300RS now and risk being a gen behind if Thrustmaster releases a new wheel alongside of GT7, or if should wait and see and in the meantime buy a G923 to play GT Sport (here in Mexico the G923 is about 40% of the price of the T300RS GT kit). What I really want to do is just buy a T300 right now, and be done with it, but the price and the fact that a new gen is here is making me doubt if I should.
Wondering what is the rig used at 3:47… looking for something like this with a seat to mount the gear that can be used with a console and tv. Ideally it can be folded away Thank you for this! Great video
I want to upgrade to a belt drive, probably the t300, its justcway better for drifting, and way quieter and less clunky. The only problem is its more expensive but the belt drift and quick release make it way more worth it than a g29 with a shifter and handbrake. Just the wheel and the pedals themselves are a better deal.
When do you feel you "need" more than an entry level like T3000rs? Like how do I know if I want to invest in T3000 vs Fanatec? If I don't want to compete in some serious events does it still make a difference on the experience if I get T3000 instead of CSL? Is it like with 240hz display for top CSGO gamers vs noobs who even can't hit you in slowmo? :P
10:32 I thought he was racing and got me confused as to wtf was that clutch foot doing, I just realized it's just him pressing on the pedals to show it to us
I get my first wheel setup a month ago. before that I first try friend's thrustmaster and then logitech g923. thrustmaster has more hard ffb. my times of dirt 2.0 with thrustmaster is a little better. but nothing can compare with the real feelings of logitech trueforce.. so i go on with logitech myself.
I was looking for the fanatic csl elite but I can’t figure out if it has been discontinued or if it’s just out of stock. If someone knows I’d appreciate it if you explained thanks
I just got a Logitech G920, pretty disappointed, Its so clunky and loud when transitioning in a drift and has alot of play in the center with the feedback turning left to right, does not feel right no matter how much I tweak and play with the settings, I think belt driven is the way to go, i think i will pick up the Thrustmaster T248 when that comes out soon
Im a g29 user myself (got it like 1-2 months ago), mainly use it for drifting and i agree on every point that you brought out. The wheel feels like shit - i should have made more research about the wheels in that price range. Tho i am now planning on selling the g29 and buying the Thrustmaster t300 rs gt, and hopefully get a better driving experience with it. Hope youll enjoy ur t248!
Nice set up. Been putting off buying any wheel and probably will go with a Logitech wheel if I can get one on sale. Really do like Fanatec but the next one up from the CSL.
Well done sir!… question on the T300 with the P310… does it work in the PS3? Online documentation says T300 is compatible but the Sparco wheel does not…
As I recently bought a steering wheel and pedals for "games" on my PS4, I immediately caught the words "Ultimate BUDGET Sim Racing Wheel" for this video. However, as nothing was said about money/price, watching this video gave me no place to start.
Just bought the Thrustmaster T300RS GT for PC and it won't work on Steam! Tried everything and the Steam controller input won't recognize it, so no Steam games are playable with the wheel. Windows and Oculus both recognize it, but not Steam. Very frustrating because most cool racing games are on Steam! Am returning the wheel for this reason. Would love to get a list of Steam-compatible wheels before I buy another.
So…you spend all the money in your REALISTIC sim rig and bump into other cars all day long as if you were playing an arcade game? What’s the point of using a sim rig then?
This seems like a weird comparison, at least over here in New Zealand. The G923 is almost half the price of the T300 RS here, which is again almost half of the price of the CSL Elite.
UK pricing is closer to New Zealand as well
In Sweden it's the same except the g923 is pretty much the same price as a t300(non gt)
@@ryanvarns2970 where are you looking? Online the t300 is roughly the same as the g923 - 330.00. Maybe prices have dropped if you wanted to look again
@@axelode45 At that price point I would be looking at the T150/TMX pro-versions; comes in about 500kr cheaper than g923, has better drive-chain, comes with T3PA pedals and access to Thrustmaster's ecosystem.
Here in malaysia g923 is quite closely priced to t300rs... But csl is almot double that...

Budget sim racing wheel, compares a 350$ wheel to a 499$ wheel to a 569$ wheel ok bud
Btw in amozon they have the Logitech G920 it's like $215 usd
The pedals are extra on the fanatec too.
So what? I have resources to get all of them but I don't know if I want to spend so much on a wheel. This, together with different videos, showed me that the Logitech is not an option despite being the cheapest and I'll probably go with the TM 300RS.

Get it.
Did you get the load cell pedals for the CSL?
T300rs does almost the same
@@TheAidil999 u wot m8, thrustmaster clamp is shit for ease of use compared to logitech, own thrustmaster tx (same wheel as 300 just for xbox nd 900°) and had logitech.

Just so you know you can use your Logitech wheels with other companies pedals and shifters you just have to calibrate accordingly in games.

Why? The software seems perfectly fine to me.

is the Fanatec really a 'budget sim racing wheel' tho? Compared to their other offerings I'd say yes but not compared to the wheels in this video.
Hi, I heard the thrustmaster t300/TX is not very reliable, does it still work after a long time?
@@KMZOFF No. I've had to replace the wheelbase on mine twice in a year. Sold that piece of junk and bought the G923.

Which means, the G29 which comes with clutch and the added shifter i paid 275 euros(207USD)
If i wanted the same equipments but from thrustmaster i would have paid 648 euros(765,77USD)
That's more than triple the price.
275 x 3 = 825
its very sad that logitech decided to upgrade their G29 to G923 with so little changes, they could do better
Not sure about other places but here in Aus the Fanatec CSL Elite is $500 but that's just the base and dose not include the wheel or pedals and the T300rs GT is $700 with the G923 the cheapest of all at $540
I can tell you didn't pay for any of the wheels logitech is the best for the money for starting out
I would probably just get a g923 and if i like sim experience enough then i'll just upgrade straight to direct drive system, kinda pointless to go for "entry level" belt system when you know you'll want more.
My thoughts exactly. I'm getting consistent training on G923 then going full on DD + load cells + new rig
In my country the Thrustmaster wheels are ALL 4x the price of the logitech ones 😮

2:50 are we not going to talk about how he hit every single car on the road
so i have used the Logitech G920 wheel for a while, 3 years or so i think, and i recently upgraded to the CSL Elite wheel with the nascar wheel, i use it primarily on iracing, not much else but i run alot of things on iracing, dirt oval, asphalt oval, and some road course stuff, i used the Logitech for a while, and i was frequently uncomfortable on the wheel, in almost everything i raced i could never just jump in and race, i always had to spend huge amounts of time messing with settings and other things, also to add on i could just never ever get used to the break pedal, but ill talk more about that later.
One quick positive though, the wheel was incredible on F1 2018-2019! that was until the right paddle stopped working
Eventually i found a resolution to my issues with the wheel itself, i managed to find a 14 inch MPI racing wheel for a cheep price, and i purchased the Steel adapter from the MPI website, and what a difference that made but, it came at a sacrifice, because i had to murder my wheel to use it, essentially had to take the wheel off down to the base, i was able to use a few buttons still on the wheel but i ended up getting a button box to solve my issue and that added about 2 pounds of weight to the wheel which made it much feel much more solid, i was never a fan of the way the FFB worked on the logitch wheel either so when i got the mpi i only used it a small amount, but over about 6 months of use the wheel developed alot of play, just from wear and tear, and the MPI mod i made to it just sped up the process.
In the Netherlands you pay for the CSL Elite around 500 euro's, and that is without pedals. I can't call that a budget racing wheel.
This is a terrible review as it doesn't factor in G923's TrueForce capabilities at all. Once you take the G923 through an appropriate TrueForce enabled game such as Dirt 2.0 or Assetto Corsa Competizione, you can never go back to the other steering wheels.
true, very bad review, he said basicly that fanatec is good and the other ones are not so good
I can already see all those Fanatec DD owners throwing away their wheels and upgrading to G923. Thanks for enlightening us, buddy.
Тупой Алкаш true force really destroys the direct drive market.
Seems a little unfair to review a Trueforce wheel without actually playing a Trueforce game (such as Snowrunner or Grid).
The G923 simulates the actual engine vibration on Trueforce games by analysing the engine note. Food for thought perhaps? 😎
True force is a gimmick and grid isn't really a sim and you'll usually find a controller to be quicker
No one cares about those arcade games anyway

@@AbizW97 At the time.of typing this, Trueforce has now been added to Dirt 2, Euro Truck Simulator 2 and ACC. This isn't going away, this is gaining traction.
@@GrandpaGoesGaming Who cares about some nice true-something technology when you are driving 1nm wheel with 0 power?
These wheels are all at completely different levels
Am I the only one that noted you wrote T3000 instead of T300 everywhere on the video title/descriptions? xD Great video!
Fanatec does not sell this wheel anymore. All they have now are the podium dd1, dd2, and the new CSL DD wheel base ( xbox / pc only ). That lineup is extremely lame.
i own the G29 its pretty good for the price but if i had to buy a new one i would go for the Thrustmaster T300rs
There's some wrong information here about the Logitech generations.
After the G27, there were two different wheels:
G29 for PS and PC... G920 for Xbox and PC
The video claimed that the G923 (yes, both also have two versions, for PS/PC and Xbox/PC) has the same buttons as the previous generation.
But that's only true for the G29, not for the G920. The G920 had far less buttons and also no rev lights.
So upgrading from G920 to G923 is much more of an upgrade than from G29 to G923!
Idk if I trust him with how he drives lmfao
I was thinking the same thing haha. How did this guy get all this stuff to review, it doesn't seem like he is really an expert at sim racing. My sister is faster than him on my sim and she is barely on it, I wish I was joking 😂
For a former (who’s never used a wheel setup) Gran Turismo freak who’s looking to get back into GT would Logitech be worth it over a PS4 controller... or should I stick to a controller
Logitech is a step up from controller for sure. Buy a used one, they are pretty reliable
If you’re in the uk you can get a g29 for around 200-220
@@reezy4411 on sale this week on their website 250 brand new!!
Thrustmaster would be the best options tbh. Their t150 Rs pro, or T300Rs. Logitech FFB system underperforms.
Any wheel would be better than a controller though.
I bought the g923 with a shifter and I'm never going back to using a controller for racing games
Is the fanatech notchy like the T300?
I bought a T300 and hate that I can feel every tooth gear during its FFB. Is the CSL any better?
Its entirely belt driven. You aren't feely any gears because that doesn't exist.
talking straight out your ass yes
@@Wylie288 actually if you research you’ll find out the belts actually have teeth, as well as the cog gears which drive the belts do as well….
Best $400 (with shipping) I ever spent for my sim racing.
i really wish they didnt keep theflat bottom on the g923
g923 +shifter in Poland new 277 USD with superb Brake pedal .
T300 with shifter 552 USD without pedal upgrade to better than g923
Fanatec hard to get in Europe ,Just the base is more expensive than t300.
After owning G27 , would like an upgrade .Would try T300 but still way more expensive and does not have the great pedals. Then heard about fanatec ,but boy for the extra money for fanatec without clutch and shifter I could have a nice 5.1 Home Cinema (great upgrade for more realism )
I think if you looking for good most budget wheel as sim wheel etc , also for drifting , shifter and clutch is a must ,seems you cant find cheaper wheel for that price and purpose .
Hi, I heard the thrustmaster t300/TX is not very reliable, does it still work after a long time?
Which do u think is better t300 or the csl elite
Most of the links are to not available products. Not your fault, but, I would put alternative links to other stores, or other sellers.
Thanks for sharing this comparison!
If you can afford the CSL Elite, go for the CSL Elite. The wheel rims are so much nicer. But then, you get what you pay for. Hopefully the new TM wheel will be cool. It might make the TM ecosystem a bit more worth it.
It’s been discontinued
@@FormulaProg You mean out of stock? It's still in stock on the US Fanatec site. The CSL Elite is the official F1 Esports racing wheel base. I doubt they would discontinue that item. I'm pretty sure that it's one of their top sellers.
@@ccramit no it’s been discontinued now, the Facebook fanatec team confirmed it last week they’re not making it anymore.
@@FormulaProg nice lies... i just checked and theres no mention of it being discontinued.
@@Otakahunt you checked what exactly? I’m not lying lmao, who you talking to?
It looked like you didnt even use the wheels. The r300 rim is rubber btw
I think if you have a racing rig, you're probably a bit beyond the casual driver and will want the Fanatec.
Too bad the csl elite is nowhere to be found. Fanatec needs to release a new one soon
Why are the wheels so much?? I already spent £650 building my PC!
If you're on a tight budget, the t150rs pro is decent. Or you could get a used DFGT.
Hi, I heard the thrustmaster t300/TX is not very reliable, does it still work after a long time? Thanks ( sorry for my english im french 😅)
T300 is very much worth it and very reliable
Using it since 2021 March
You only live once
This comparison video is like comparing a vauxhall corsa to a Lamborghini aventador
You need a new wheel rim for xbox compatiblity something to bear in mind..
Logitech = Cheapest, Thrustmaster = Midrange, Fanatec = Best. Not a great comparison when they are all in different price ranges.
Idk why he's even comparing gear driven and belt driven the difference isn't even a question
Csl elite priced at $1500 in my country because there is no official distributor
Wondering what is the rig used at 3:47… looking for something like this with a seat to mount the gear that can be used with a console and tv. Ideally it can be folded away
Thank you for this! Great video
Say what you want about the g29 the pedals are very good and with a 20 quid update as good as the fanatac
It's fanatic but spelled fanatec! We're did you get fan attack from? You new?
I am still deciding between the T248 or the G923 for the Xbox Series X... which one is better and lasts longer??
gear noise on g series is reason that i avoid logitech
Wise words
turn your game sound up lol
I’ve narrowed down to Thrustmaster. So help me out, T300 RS or T248? There is only a $50 price difference right now so I want the best of the two.
Hi, I heard the thrustmaster t300/TX is not very reliable, does it still work after a long time?
Great review. But as the T300 goes, a drive hub from Collective minds will make it compatible with both xbox and playstation.
10:32 I thought he was racing and got me confused as to wtf was that clutch foot doing, I just realized it's just him pressing on the pedals to show it to us
I think you should do a review of two devices at a time. Makes it confusing and hard to keep up with which one your talking about for three
I get my first wheel setup a month ago. before that I first try friend's thrustmaster and then logitech g923. thrustmaster has more hard ffb. my times of dirt 2.0 with thrustmaster is a little better. but nothing can compare with the real feelings of logitech trueforce.. so i go on with logitech myself.
I was looking for the fanatic csl elite but I can’t figure out if it has been discontinued or if it’s just out of stock. If someone knows I’d appreciate it if you explained thanks
Discontinued
@@janhalliste2628 I think ill get the 300GT RS after looking into it more aswell
This seems very biased. G923 you can change wheel with ease, you can also change pedals, handbrake and shifter...
The logitech wheel is only $300 whilst the other two are over $400
Nice set up. Been putting off buying any wheel and probably will go with a Logitech wheel if I can get one on sale. Really do like Fanatec but the next one up from the CSL.
So 300$ vs 400$ vs 1000$ ? Guess which one's the best.
It's kinda sad cause trying to get a Fanatec CSL elite pro is so hard in New Zealand
You should remake this video since the csl elite isn't sold anymore
What is the T300 substitute that can be played on XBOX? I m looking for the same mechanizm. Thrustmaster TX has the same mechanizm or inferior?
It's funny the t300 has less torque yet when using them side by side it doesn't feel like only half haha
Should I buy G923 for 289 euro or T300RS for 399 euro?
g923 , there are not many differents between them, both are very good. and the g923 is way cheaper !
Well done sir!… question on the T300 with the P310… does it work in the PS3? Online documentation says T300 is compatible but the Sparco wheel does not…
t300 works on ps3. p310 is just wheel change, so yes, also works
So my Thrustmaster T150 pro is not on the Ultimate Budget list ...
Isn't this like comparing a Renault Clio with a Ferrari? Sor ry but it doesn't make sense.... The fanatec is 5 times expensive
Exactly, comparing a 449 package to a 1300 package csl..
What about the Thrustmaster TS-XW? Thinking on buying that instead of buying a t300 and then using more money by upgrading later...
Would love to get a list of Steam-compatible wheels before I buy another.
great Video what is your rig made out of, i would love to make that.
T300RS is the best for the money in 2016. Nowadays it's overpriced.
@9:20 why use a wheel when you can use the wall or other cars to turn 🤔
So…you spend all the money in your REALISTIC sim rig and bump into other cars all day long as if you were playing an arcade game? What’s the point of using a sim rig then?
Well CSL elite is unavailable for the most part since its discontinued
