A $330 difference is quite a lot of money. You can already buy a Playseat with that amount. It really depends on practicality and how serious you are with sim racing or if you use it to hone your skills if you’re an actual racing driver.
I had time with both Fanatec belt drives, they're both ok but the eco system isn't entry level friendly. I'd recommend the Thrustmaster TS-PC or variations, the eco system is cheaper, and there are some great inexpensive mods out there that elevate their performance considerably. A magnetic shifter mod, tool free and about £20 will give you one of best feeling paddle shifter's I've ever felt (& I've tried some good ones). There are a couple of 300mm wheels available and they are a little more expensive but the F 488 Ferrari Challenge wheel replica is a great wheel (mag shifter mod available) as is Sparco replica, there are formula wheels too if that's your thing. There's also a Quick Ring mod which again is a simple fit which makes the Thrustmaster "quick release" system functional without needing a screw and which will not loosen on you. It's a better eco system for value, ok as is with some good effective and inexpensivel mods that improve them, mostly in tactile feedback, significantly.
Just a question. when you turn the wheel inch by inch do you feel like a lock moment? because i have the thrustmaster and am really happy with it. but it doenst feel smooth as i like it to be because every inch i turn it gets into a lock place like --- - ---- - ---- - ------ - its almost like morese code. Hi, Every other video I see of a Rig mount, has just a single/dual bar coming up to fix the wheelbase. It then always wobbles like crazy back and forth... (see 09:03) How can this give you precice FFB compared to a desk mounted setup (or a good fixed rig) ?
6:51 has it too. Those style rig mounts usually have a lot of flex due to how they are designed. So in this case, the FGT lite folds at the bottom of the dual bars, causing the flex.
Fanatac’s website sucks. I’m trying to go through the system of selecting a configuration for the full bundle and EVERYTIME it says at the end “you’re missing a wheelbase” WELL HOW ABOUT YOU GIVE ME THE OPTION TO SELECT A WHEELBASE IN THE FIRST PLACE. Hi thanks for the video. Your link takes me straight to the Fanatec website black friday sale which is I must say is very confusing indeed? I'm unable to find the latest xbox & ps elite base, brake pedal set with load sell and wrc wheel etc? Thanks.
You can find the CSL Elite bundle under the Black Friday tab! You can then configure it additionally with the LC set and WRC wheel, just press "Configure your setup".
@@MattsPaddock Ok thanks I will try that this evening and I'l see what the overall cost is. We currently have the T300rs and would like an upgrade now.
@@MattsPaddock Am I correct in believing that the WRC wheel is Xbox only and if I configure the bundle additionally with LC and WRC wheel I would get 2 wheels, the black one on display on the base for the PS & the WRC wheel for the Xbox? It doesn't explain, so annoying when I dont understand. :(
In my opinion you won't find a better product then the Fanitec. Just so well built, and built to last. Have my CSL now for over 11 years and still works great. I just wish they would sell them here in the state's.
Of course a $800+ without tax (probably around $900 with) setup is better than $249-399. It's like asking is it worth it to buy an iphone over a flip phone.
Yes is an optical sensor. What do you think about using snapdome keys to change fanatec p1 crowns? Is it reliable enough? I know some have had problems
Game. A friend has had a cs2. 5 for years and on different games it feels different. I fact the biggest thing, as in real life, is the amount of revs engine resistance/weight of the car bits you're rev matching. So a high revving v10 I4 at 8000+ will love rev matching and will be much smoother as a result, but a chunky low rpm v6/v8/v12/I4 relining at 5.5/6 won't really give a shit about just dropping a gear without finesse lol Ugh just saw this was 6 months old 😪
I drift i had the g923 great for drifting (had to setup up as a g29) and not much difference from the csl, so why did i upgrade because compatability with my older games
if for ps4 ps5 and pc, whats suggestion for the first taste racing wheels.no need fancy , just good enough, but not too shiity . not really follow that kind of fun toy, have no idea what budget get what kind of quality.
IMO its better to just upgrade the g27/g29 until you can afford a direct drive. Buy a truebrake($60) and a better psu($20) for the g27/g29 and it will be better than pretty much any fanatec setup and costs less than $100 for the upgrade. If you have a 3d printer you can easily print a degressive clutch mod for the g27/g29. The clutch mod plus the truebrake puts the pedals above anything fanatec has to offer. That way you only have to save for the direct drive wheel and a shifter if you want and not waste money on more shitty pedals.
Csl elite looks great. But I think I'll get the t300rs. It is hella cheaper and I don't play thaaaaaat much racing games. They are rather a genre that I like getting back into every now and then. So spending so much money on a fanatec will not be worth it. But who knows.. maybe Playing the games with a proper wheel makes me wanna get a fanatec one in the future
Fanatec stopped producing, and selling the CSL Elite. They are pushing their new CSL DD; which I think is a waste of money. I just ordered the T300rs today for my console rig. Those are getting harder to find as well. Got mine at B&H for $350 usd. Amazon has it too right now.
Can any1 tell me what the difference is between this wheel and the regular version? Ia the wheel base better with Wrc version? Or any other difference? There’s €100 euro price difference but I can’t work out what’s different. Also, the Wrc version of this wheel, is now saying sold out and they won’t be getting any more in stock. Surely this isn’t correct? Was it a limited edition???
Actually he's not. You can only sit too far from your wheel. The optimum position is to have a 90° bend at the elbow. When sat back in your seat, stretch out your arms towards the top of the steering wheel, the rim should fall at your wrist or closer.
I had a lot of people asking me this question, especially in relation to the wheel being too close, just take a look at how the drivers in the GT3 car have that setup, it explains a lot
Upgrading from a logitech g920... it was a great starting platform to find out if I'd wanna dive deeper into the sim racing experience. Debating between csl elite or club sport

Wow, 11 years? Do you use different wheels on it?
@@MattsPaddock same wheel and base. They weren't interchangeable back then.
Of course a $800+ without tax (probably around $900 with) setup is better than $249-399.
It's like asking is it worth it to buy an iphone over a flip phone.
Sorry I need this information very quickly. But the elite csl uses optical encoder or hall effect to detect steering movements?
I believe it's the optical sensor.
Yes is an optical sensor. What do you think about using snapdome keys to change fanatec p1 crowns? Is it reliable enough? I know some have had problems
Yes, I can also confirm it's an optical sensor! Have you got the snapdome keys already or?
I really want to get a csl but can’t find one anywhere!
Wait for the CSL DD. The CSL Elite is discontinued.
How does rev matching work with this setup, for example if you fail does the car jolt or is that more of the games responsibility?
Game. A friend has had a cs2. 5 for years and on different games it feels different.
I fact the biggest thing, as in real life, is the amount of revs engine resistance/weight of the car bits you're rev matching. So a high revving v10 I4 at 8000+ will love rev matching and will be much smoother as a result, but a chunky low rpm v6/v8/v12/I4 relining at 5.5/6 won't really give a shit about just dropping a gear without finesse lol
Ugh just saw this was 6 months old 😪
Does the f-gt lite work well with the fanatec csl elite? Looks like it is shaking?
It does, but there will always be some play with these kind of setups
The Logitech G923 is $220 USD, a lot cheaper than this thing.
I drift i had the g923 great for drifting (had to setup up as a g29) and not much difference from the csl, so why did i upgrade because compatability with my older games
hi, i have your same steering wheel but i only have 2 standard pedals.
If buying the load cell vibrates the brake yes or no LET ME KNOW
You mean if the pedal brake would have pumping feedback like with an ABS system? No, it won't, it doesn't have any feedback
@@MattsPaddock OK thanks! do you know which one I have to buy to have the vibration on the brake?
At this moment I don't know any, but I haven't went that much in-depth, I would guess there's some that have feedback like that
@@MattsPaddock Yes! the Fanatec ClubSport v3 platform vibrates
ps: now I have added two bass shakers
one under the seat! the other under the pedals.
if for ps4 ps5 and pc, whats suggestion for the first taste racing wheels.no need fancy , just good enough, but not too shiity . not really follow that kind of fun toy, have no idea what budget get what kind of quality.
How are the breaks without the load cell?
Guys, do you know if the csl elite has the same electric motor as the csw 2.5 base?
We have the same seat 😁😁
i have the same set as yours but i could never make rev lights and steering display work
It can depend on the game and szstem
I went from ps2 Logitech wheel to fanatic CSL elite.
It’s not even the same dimension.
You mean the P1 wheel?
@@MattsPaddock sorry, yes, the p1 👍
They're basically the same, just a different livery
Is the csl elite starter kit compatible with the series x?
What's the GamePlay game my friend? (Available on Xbox one x?)
Project Cars 3!
is there a handbrake that works with this and pa5?
Whut? its not an obsession! Pfffft..
*Tries to hide CSX 2 behind pillow* > >;
Gotta get that one!
I think Logitech wheel is better for rally because it's smaller. Is it so?
Can you link your chair and wheel stand? I'd appreciate it!
ua-cam.com/video/tJjHH7Kk5GY/v-deo.html - link to the chair in the description box!
You sit to close your elbows should never hit your sides why driving it’s harder to do clean laps your restricted
Speaking about pulling things off 😏
🤣
I want a 1000$ full drift sim what stuff should I get
Can this be for Xbox and can you swap out the wheels
Anybody know what the cheapest way to use the fanatec nascar rim with the csl elite base?
is the diffrence between this and direct drive worth it for a hobbyist?
I still have to try out the direct drive up close and personal, I'll definitely make a comparison!
Upgrading from a logitech g920... it was a great starting platform to find out if I'd wanna dive deeper into the sim racing experience. Debating between csl elite or club sport
me after intro who is thinking about building new sim rig with loadcell brake pedal: ''Yea''
😂
Short answer: YES.
TL:DR!
Trying to buy CSL Elite off eBay cause of this, but the guy won’t respond fast enough 😑
Wat simulator sit are you using? It seems very nice.
NextLevelRacing F-GT Lite, my reviewing of it is coming next week! 🙂
@@MattsPaddock Thanks i will be waiting for the vídeo.
