@@howlshedo They changed the artistry rules since Tokyo. Probably to prevent an athlete like Jade from winning. They don't just want difficulty, they want dance and expression. Jade is giving more, but it's still weak.

If the US had sense when going to Tokyo it would have included her on the team. They did not and I think the POORLY put together team meant that Simone practically had to carry it on her shoulder. The pressure of that and other things ( the impending US Senate hearing on Larry Nasseur, lack of family support at Tokyo, the isolation etc...) proved to be too much. This time around they would do well to pick her because she fits PERFECTLY with any team. At the end of the day, one has to play to one's strength.

This is my prediction too. I also put the same up on each event as you. I think Kayla and Jordan will be travelling alternates and Leanne and Joscelyn will be the non travelling alternates. I could also see Tiana and Hezly getting alternate but my predictions are Kayla, Jordan, Leanne and Joscelyn. If there was such thing as alternate for alternates that's where I would put Tiana and Hezly.
Have to see who's healthy and who steps up and upgrades on each event and looks Olympic Games Ready!!! Gonna have to kick all your favorites out of the your emotions when choosing!!!

My team is 1) Biles 2) Jones (assuming the shoulder injury withdrawal was just precautionary) 3) Lee (want to see her up her bars difficulty a bit more at trials) 4) Blakely (want to see her hit both nights on beams and bars and that her Cheng is reliable) 5) Chiles (don’t want to see any falls) Carey and DiCello the traveling alternates. If Carey ups her floor difficult and hits minimum 14.00 on both nights, I swap Chiles out and she takes that spot DiCello can make the team if she hits both nights of trials and Chiles and/or Blakely have injuries or horrendous trials. Wong and Rivera are probably the alternates that stay at home. Wong needs to have the meet of her life and needs to have others to have injuries or terrible meets Rivera is probably too green to make the team right now. Way too many gymnasts just as good and with tons more of international experience.
I agree almost 100% with you expect that Jade has the edge in my opinion. She can easily upgrade her fx and has her unbelievably dependable cheng on her side. Not to mention her potential amanar. She only needs to show a hit 6.1+ fx at trials and SHE’S ON THE TEAM. After all, I prefer to believe The Selection Committee won’t be dumb and stupid enough to leave the reigning Olympic fx champ off if she hits. The bigger problem for her is the disservice of the US judges, but even they can’t deny her 14s if she hits her upgraded fx. Besides that, Chiles won’t be able to score 14+ internationally on fx with the routine she has now unless she improves some aspects. Her bad dance series would be costing her A LOT -luckily for her the US judges are not deducting properly at all or downgrading it, but would definitely be at Paris tho. So without a strong fx set, she simply isn’t a contributor to the team anywhere potentially and can’t make ANY finals ( only good thing would be the chance to rest Biles or Shi in TF and her solid DTY, but with Skye’s and Jade’s cheng who needs it? ). Therefore she isn’t needed. Kayla can definitely make the team but will need some help (from someone like Jordan), despite also getting “help” from the US judges. So, with all these 4 (The Goat doesn’t count) hitting at trials the Team should be BILES SHI SUNI SKYE JADE *The bigger problem with this team is that if suni places top 3 AA and Shi maintains her 2nd AA place at trials, then it’ll be a FIGHT for who does AA at QF because Biles and Jade are two sure vaulters, then there is Shi who’s the second best AA and there is still Skye and Suni. So theoretically you’d choose Skye who’s capable of doing a harder vault, but at the same time how do you leave the reigning Olympic AA champ out of the AA quest if she’s in shape? UGHHHHHHH SO HARD.

If Jordan brings upgraded vaults, or even just 1 upgraded vault, I think Jade will probably get the alternate spot because Jordan has cleaner form and better artistry on floor. I love Jade, but this quad’s CoP doesn’t work in her favor 😭
When did Jordan mention this? I know there have been rumors she’s been working on those two vaults, but I’d only heard her actually say that she had her Amanar back. The Cheng is still a massive question to me.

I think it will be like 2021 where she was training the Amanar all year and just didn’t compete it. I just hope her not competing it doesn’t cast her a spot on the team.

I think the outcome at Trials will be different than what we expect. Shilese could struggle, given her recent injury. I see Kayla, Jade and Suni making this team. The judges have handed Kayla a spot on a silver platter. All she needs to do is stay on her apparatus-same with Suni. Jade is pretty consistent and only needs her upgrades to make the team. Not only can Skye not fall, but she cannot falter and make the team. She better not wobble or miss any connections because she will not be gifted any scores like Kayla and Suni receive.

They did that on purpose, to show she still scored a 15.000 with a fall, and an average of over 15.400 over the 3 days of competition.

I’m shocked Jordan hasn’t done a Cheng yet. Her Lopez is the best in the world by far and she could definitely get the needed rotation
