We finally finish building the home spray wall! I also unbox 40lbs of climbing holds from escape climbing's factory seconds. I also show a bit of me building a climbing volume, and end the video with a bit of setting. I'm so excited to finally have it finished and I hope you guys enjoy!

10 feet wide, 12 feet long at 40 degrees overhanging, with a 15.5 inch kickerboard 😁

I think if I remember correctly, the wood and materials, not including holds was like around $800. And I’ve spent around another $1000 on holds. But you definitely can do it for way cheaper. I’d recommend checking out the Wedge Climbing and their board videos. You definitely can get away with a great board using a smaller area and even making your own holds out of left over wood for way cheaper.

I recently made a similar wall 9ftx10ft at 30 degrees with no kicker and it was like $500 for materials, $600 for a diy pad, and $1000 for holds as well.

Do you think it would be possible to make a spray wall with hand saw and an electric drill (I want to spend the money on tools to make wood holds instead of a miter saw). Also do you think you could drill the bolt holes with a standard drill?

@@SamJulius-sy8nw I think it’s definitely possible to, but you do really want to make sure your cuts are straight, it’ll save you a lot of headache. Im pretty sure places like home depot will cut the wood for you if you ask, so just gotta make sure your plans are good. Yeah you can drill with a regular drill, you just wanna try to make sure the holes are straight and that you use the correct drill bit size

@@tommysegovia sweet I think I’ll just have them cut the wood for me, also very new to wood working are there any UA-cam videos that go in depth about making your own spray wall. Also videos about how to choose the right screws, bolts, fasteners, and so on. Thanks

@@SamJulius-sy8nw Yeah there’s a lotta good resources online, I bought all of my climbing specific supplies from Escape Climbing (bolts, t-nuts, screws, etc.) and there’s a lot of great DIY channels for homewall building. I personally just watched pretty much everyone’s videos on how they built their walls and gather inspiration for what I wanted. I think Tom O’Halloran has great videos for the setting portion. And if you want legit specs to make it solid like a gym wall, you can check out the online pdf “how to build a home bouldering wall” by metolius climbing. I’m glad to help!
