So. To complete what I previously wrote. And this is a true story. Bear with me, this'll make sense. Go back to 1979. I'm 13. My grandmother died. My grandad sold his house and gave half to my day and his brother. So dad bought an old house with a granny annex and I had the third floor to myself. There was a small double door to the attic. There was also a hidden room which I found after a couple of years (really well hidden, but just taking us to the very front of the house, nothing extraordinary). Inside the "hidden room" I found a cassette. There was nothing written on the tape. I must have listened to this cassette for 2-3 years absolutely blown away by the music. Didn't know who the group was. Then I lost the tape! The only words I remembered from any of the songs were "I'm telling you what I see..." and "One fine morning, and I'll wake up". Years passed and the internet arrived. I looked, but to no avail. Years passed. I looked. To no avail. Then. About six years ago, I searched once again (a habit I had learned) and found a Lighthouse video!!!! I cried. I had found whaat was missing. I went to see my dad to tell him the story. He said that he had bought the house from an airline pilote that used to go back and forth from the UK to Canada (I'm from the UK). So for him it was clear that the airline pilote had a boot leg tape, that I found aged 13, that subsequently became a quest to find the group. A 13 year old boy. A blank cassette. Half of a song in mind. No clue at all. But, where there is a will........there is a way!
Canadian bands of the late 60s and early 70's mastered the art of jazz rock. BST is another one, that rivals Chicago, one of the greatest American bands of all time.
Killer song still. I have tickets to see them here in Wpg. this fall.I hope Hoffert and Cole are still playing.Too bad Skip is gone.I have seen him with the band 3 times.STILL GREAT
Wow! Just as good as the original release from 40 yrs ago … Thanks Guys! Many happy memories listening to this song. I was making a salad and the original song just popped into my head. Asked Alexa to find it ... which she did. Then followed-up to see if I could find you playing it live.
Agreed. Hard shoes to fill. There really is nobody that can replace Bob McBride's Amazing Lead Vocal performance on this song. He sang this song like he owned it!
Great song and very good performance. I take nothing away from this. However, nobody sings this song like Bob McBride. He was the Best! Cheers!
This song was popular when I was in high school and it positively kicks THE SHIT out of any of today's music.
I've always loved this song! I still love it!!!
a song in the style like that never die for sure....it's like some of Chicago or Blood sweat and tears....
Just as good as it was 48 years ago!
exactly my friend
Man o man !!! JUST AS GOOD !!!
Loved this song. Always thought they would give Chicago/Blood, Sweat & Tears a run for one of the better horn bands. Thanks for posting.

It's always so satisfying if you can "connect the dots" to a mystery from your chilhood....!

Sure i do. I was lucky enough to see him live at Ontario Place. Nobody sings this song like Bob McBride!
What a treat! I have this 45. Why aren't oldies stations playing this all the time?
Because most oldies stations are playing '90's music as oldies now, that's why.
Too white.
Just watched a 1971 live version of this. This is weird to watch. No weirder than looking in a mirror I guess. Great song then and still great.
yes they are always hot, this singer is with the band for minimum 20 years....
They still got it!
Killer song still. I have tickets to see them here in Wpg. this fall.I hope Hoffert and Cole are still playing.Too bad Skip is gone.I have seen him with the band 3 times.STILL GREAT

Leonid and Friends, the great Chicago cover band, does a killer version of this.
I was a Senior in High School.
I can't believe that I cannot find a really good remaster of this song. This begs for someone to take the original tapes and remaster it.
Try Leonid and friends version ..it’s poppin
Are these guys the original members?
January 2025 , I'm back!!
Reminds me of the Big 8

Good but not nearly as good as Bob McBride
