keep at it, 7 days is impossible to get anywhere near 50wpm, I'm still practicing for almost 2 months straight now, about 1 hour per day, and I have managed to hit the 73 wpm, mark, there is so much more to than just posture, the keyboard. No one tells you this but focus on your rhythm, determine how far you want to place your fingers from the keyboard. Determine if resting your fingers lightly over they keys works better than hovering your fingers over them. Determine if spreading your fingers wide works better than keeping them close. Also the curl of your fingers, the angle of which they arch over the keys. Once you have found the best method for your fingers, and get into a a certain rhythm, you can slowly get to 50wpm or above. Again no one tells you these things, it really makes a difference. Everyone has different ways of making it feel natural, work out these little things and you will be on your way. I'm chasing the 100wpm, but it sure as hell takes time, its not easy.
my entire life ive learned how type while looking at the keys and ive recently tried to start how to type while not looking at the keys and looking at the screen instead
@maxirunpl I meant along the lines that it forces you to look more at the screen as the keyboard gives less away. As with most things practice is key.

I once taught 4-8 grade students touch typing and painted the keyboards black but it did not help them not look at the keyboard while typing at all. Most students still glanced on the blank keyboard every now and then. So I got creative and had the schools workshop teacher build an upside down U shaped structure from wood that I covered the keyboard, mouse and the student's hands with, so that they could not see the keyboard. That seemed to work the best. I also tried towels but the hands got hot and sweaty under the towels
I'm learning how to touch type at 26 years old, I'm seven days in and trying to use my pinkies is super frustrating and painful lol hopefully the pain goes away.
7 days is not enough. You need to do a proper course which takes about 6 weeks, and you need to attain finger memory. There's plenty of free online courses that can help. - from a professional typist, 136 wpm.
I think a traditional clicky clacky keyboard is better to learn on. I have a laptop and I've noticed my typing got slower and less precise over time. The keys are just too short and don't provide satisfying feedback when pressed. Edit I commented this right before you brought in the keyboard lol😂
It’s called a mechanical keyboard, and they make very good ones nowadays you can get ones with silent switches, switches with a little bump in them, and then switches that actually have a click in them. I think the tactile ones with the silent bump of the best ones to use for typing,
63 is not bad. I have learned to type with peck and hunt and now can do it pretty decently with muscle memory. I want to learn how to type properly with all ten.
i'm currently trying to teach myself to switch from using my index finger for the space bar to my thumb. I can surprisingly type an average of 130-140 WPM with my normal finger configuration, but when I switch to thumb on the space bar, I'm slowed to around 100 WPM (still not bad, I know). Even just switching one finger like this is super difficult. Now there are times where my brain glitches out because it doesn't know whether it wants to use thumb or index for the space and therefore I just seize lmao
reaching 80 wpm took me 3 months when at the start i wasnt even able to make enough force with pinky to press a button. I held my best socre at 73 for 2 weeks when suddenly one day i just got 82 back to back and 70 wpm feels slow its really hard to learn type of skill. My first 2-3 weeks was memorizing finger placement and movements for each key. Im honestly amazed that after just week you get 45 i got taht after like a month
In the Army in formation I did appear Captain said need for typist is severe No hand went up from any my peer To type for the army I did volunteer Little did I know typing to be a career

Crazy, I have 74 words per minute with 98% accuracy with my "broken" style of typing - I just realized that my right hand is just using index finger and pinky finger (just for button enter) and the other hand sometimes uses additionally the middle and ring finger, but REALLY sometimes and I have no idea how it is actually controlled :D
I have to look at and check each keystroke on the screen. Your friend looked happy with your fast two fingers, stick with what works. 😅 I couldn't leave that one alone 😂
7 days is possible for 70 wpm if you are kid because of a much higher learning mech than adults so if your a kid watching if you work this much you will get this fast
It gets easier as your muscles adapt. I use to find it uncomfortable as well so I wanted to go back with just two index fingers but the more I use all my fingers the easier it go and the more comfortable it got typing the right way.
To me, fast typing is like magic. I realised I never actively think and just magically type but as soon as I try to think of the position of each character my brain fails. What is this sorceryyyy??? (muscle memory i know but wtff)
Thanks! I like your video! But can you make a video to see how long it takes, to typing in this way: typinglikethismakesitgofaster, without using space? I'm subscribed your channel. :-)
Lol, super random, but has anyone ever told you that you look like a hockey player? Like not some NHL player in particular, you just have that hockey homie look. This sounds like a roast, but it's not. lol (Minues the fact that you still have every tooth, of course) ahah for the record, I'm a die hard hockey fan, so again, no shade, just a funny observation I made haha
