The idea is to not have to look at the keys once you've memorized where everything is and typing becomes second nature for your fingers. Thanks for watching and contributing!
I kind of goofed off in typing class so I forgot a lot of the steps, but I can type without even looking at the keyboard. It was a pain in the ass learning to type like that.
I totally agree to stick with it. I’ve been learning for three days now and I can say I have improved so much each day. It slow and sometimes I get annoyed but then I’m like no, you will get better and I continue and smile through. I like playing games too and typing quizzes online.
Another tip is, spelling/typos is more important to correct than speed. So work on not making mistakes in spelling/typos. The more you practice on correct spelling, the speed will come after. The speed will come naturally because as you practice not making typos, the brain is remembering the keys. The more typos you make, the brain is remembering the typos which will impede your speed capabilities. I hope that made sense.
Yes I agree, pausing a bit to make sure instead of making a typo ends up being more efficient in the long run and, like you said, you train your brain more effectively.
As someone who types for a living I do have a couple of tips. First, make sure your chair is the correct height and that you're sitting straight up. Early on it's important to practice typing correctly, practice makes permanent so doing it wrong over and over engrains bad habits. In addition to exercises with repetitive letters, it also good to use exercises with random groups of letters rather than words, this keeps you from anticipating the next letter and helps build accuracy.
Forgive me everyone, but this has to probably be one of the best, if not, the best film footage tutorials made to viewers I ever saw. It's well strategized, well planned and well set up- I give this a thumbs up👍
I used to have my own way of typing that I developed just from playing games as a kid; using only the middle and pointer fingers on both hands and it peaked me at 120 WPM. Sure, it was amazing enough but it felt like my hands were always tired by doing so and it was like I had already reached the method's limit. Once I started forcing on really changing my habits and practised typing properly by actually using four fingers, I can now easily reach 130+ WPM peak, 120 WPM by just typing calmly, and the biggest and I say the most important bonus is that I rarely make mistakes on my typing anymore because the allocations will make it so your fingers aren't stressed out when typing because the workload is evenly distributed-unlike my original typing where my middle and pointer fingers had to move a whole lot. I'd definitely recommend anyone to change their typing for the better as well. It's never too late and it will help you type really satisfyingly, yes, I forgot to mention the keyboard sounds that it makes when you type consistently (no stutters between words) sounds really cool, almost an ASMR even.
Thanks for this. I have always been a two finger typing who is fast that makes a lot of mistakes. You made a lot of sense in this video so thank you. It will take awhile, but I’m going to practice much as possible.
Bruh, I've been practicing this technique a lot, every since I started coding and c-stem, and this has honestly helped a lot. In the past 2 months, I came from 30-35 wpm to 87 wpm.

I remember there was this one kid who could get like 60 wpm without looking and it blew my mind. I bet if I took that class now, I'd have destroyed it, easy. this guy is SO GOOD ,thank you so much for this video i'm practicing touch typing while writing this anyone can see that this guy is a good teacher i totally recommend this video he totally rules out the other videos i've watched:)
Great video. One point I learned is the REASON people type faster with the "touch" method is not having to look at the keys. In my typing class in 9th grade the keys were covered so students were forced to learn the keys by memory and not by sight. LOTS of time is lost when looking at the keys. A good touch typist can either 1) keep eyes focused on the document from which he/she is typing, or 2) watch the screen while typing to catch any errors right away.
Anson that was an excellent tutorial. I being a trainer at work understand the importance of quality training. Thank you for taking the time to explain the do's and don'ts of typing for beginners. I will apply the methods and techniques you displayed and work diligently on developing good typing skills and increasing my speed. Thank you for your excellent guidance and perspective.
I think it's just practice. I'm not 'super fast', but I can type without looking. Step 1: Index fingers go on the F and J keys. Step 2: Use the internet for a few years and get into stupid arguments that you take far too seriously. Step 3: Voila! You can now type without looking.

This reminds me the first time I got computer and internet access, sitting with my two best friends in back home Eritrea. We were in the internet cafe, students of 8th grade, didn't have enough money to pay for an hour. So we had to make it half an our. Our plan was to GOOGLE & print lyrics song of 50-Cent so that we could sing easly in English. When we started (imagen 3 students sitting in one chair for one computer) intending to type "Google", we couldn'd find the letter "L", we looked for like 10min, still not seen. We didn't wanna lose our time, because time realy matters in internet cafe. So we called the clerk to help us. She is like "hey how may I help you"? I replied "this keyboard doesn't have ''L''. Omg! she couldn't stop laughing. Now I'm not super fast, but I can definitely type with out seeing the keyboard.
And after you learn these basics you could try a very fun game - the typing of the dead. Most fun game to learn to type faster, I'm doing a let's play of it, appreciate anyone watching, good luck with your learning.
That was a very interesting article, here are a few more tips on how to play the piano… Try practicing for an hour a day, or 30 minutes if you have a busy schedule. Do more practice whenever you have more time. For example, on weekends you can do more than an hour, like 2 or three, or even more. This is very helpful because it pulls you out of the routine of piano playing, and lets you practice more and perfect the pieces you play. Listen to the song or piano piece you are playing. For example, if you are taking piano lessons and are about to play a new piece, you can try searching on the internet for videos or songs and hear how it sounds. This can be very helpful because it teaches you how a song is played and lets you recognize the 'emotion,' the piece is giving off. Practice sight-reading and don't worry about making mistakes. This can be very helpful, because it's almost like scanning a paragraph and looking at the picture. It helps you to understand what the passage is trying to convey before you actually read it and lets you know what comes next. This is the same with music, and it can help you stop making mistakes. (I discovered about these and more from Denelle piano lesson website )

A few days in, went from 60wpm to 30wpm when forcing myself to typing the right way, trying to break bad habits, one of the toughest endeavor to date. *Update* 3 weeks in, it's getting better without even practicing that much deliberately. Just reminding myself with every letter I type and correcting my fingers' reflexes.

In a good keyboard, there's always a small underscore-like bump at J and F button to help your fingers back in default position.
lol i did not notice that thanks
Thanks, i didn't know why they were there

Really clear and a great demo thanks for the simplicity of it.
I graduated from high school in 1994, now in 2021 decided to learn to type fast. your tutorial still helps, thank you!!

That was a very interesting article, here are a few more tips on how to play the piano…
Try practicing for an hour a day, or 30 minutes if you have a busy schedule.
(I discovered about these and more from Denelle piano lesson website )
my school never taught me how to type :(
Same;(
Accurate
Yeah I learnt it on my own and now I'm probably the fastest in my school lmao
The pinky has too much responsibility. It’s like when your manager is off sick and someone tells you to, ‘hold the fort’.
Great tutorial - this will be a timeless classic
Trying to transition to touching semi-colon is tough. I find myself only using three fingers on the right hand
love your tutorial,
I do admit that i'm typing faster when i just point my finger but now i'm gonna practice it haha

Thanks for the great video. Can you suggest any typing gaming websites?
quarantine gives me a good excuse to do this. i never even bothered to learn this since it felt uncomfortable for me
Thanks, before I watched this video I scored like 50 on TypingMadness but now I can do like 57-60 (it takes time to get used to it)
Awesome, I love hearing stories like this. I'm glad it was helpful!
Thank you, i found my grampas old keyboard and found this video, it sure is more simple than having holographic keyboard that reads minds to type.
Because of this video, I can now comment on this video within 5 seconds.
First my fingers used to freeze while typing. Now I'm used to it.It is difficult to type p,x,,z and use backspce.
This helped me so much in my school typing without looking at the keyboard was skill you needed and this man helped me so much thank you I can type 98 words per minute without looking at the keyboard

SugarPlum noperoo

I hate May
ayyy yes
No
Thanks for the tutorial. I’m learning how to type properly and this helps a lot!
A few days in, went from 60wpm to 30wpm when forcing myself to typing the right way, trying to break bad habits, one of the toughest endeavor to date.
*Update*
3 weeks in, it's getting better without even practicing that much deliberately. Just reminding myself with every letter I type and correcting my fingers' reflexes.
