I don't know how it could be done, maybe just playing with 2D sprites, but with the RTX version of the first Doom people asked a lot for the sprites to be voxels, so that's how they've done it with this one, even if they don't look that good with ray tracing.
@@DARTHVRNET Indeed. I actually don't mind the map layout itself, but I strongly dislike Doom's damaging floor concept, which id Software really overused & abused here.
@@2DarkHorizon I would prefer to have any kind of fire or explosion sprites completely unaffected so that the original colors are retained. I would accept some color blending from the surrounding colors, but the way it's implemented here just ruins the sprites.
I tried playing the doom remake 4 and cant play it on my 3080 without it looking nice let alone try playing this in 4k with ray tracing even with dlss it will have strange artifacting to it why i don't play games much anymore they just done run unless you have a 4090 gamers like me are being left out all the time and i don't have the money to buy a new pc all over again
I have DLSS and frame generation enabled, and I don't see artifacts, I guess it depends if the resolution and base fps are high, the more, the less artifacts you see.
@@DARTHVRNET Ok does this now have mouse look up and down with free look with this mod like what gzdoom has as i have the steam version but that don't have the mouse look up and down why i never played it as i just went and downloaded gzdoom then take the wad files and played that why with mods
@@bioshock6935 As you can see in the video, it does have mouse look, however, this is also GZDoom, and therefore, there is an option to activate it or not, as you prefer.
@@DARTHVRNET Thanks for the info i have downloaded this mod now due watching your great video of it and i am very impressed with it and it runs fine now for me in 4k maxed out and it looks just like your videos does but i had to set my fov on 110 because the mouse look felt to slow even putting my sensitivity on 60 but 110 fov set it just right for me but with a slight fish eye to the game Also no artifacting from using DLSS2 like you said. I do hope someone can mod it just to make the maps a bit more with a higher textures pack to everything giving it a more polished look and better weapon models that's all would would be needed for me to make everything perfect and some of the voxel are facing the wrong way and are missing like in map 2 where there is no big fire poles lighting up near the steps where you get the gutting gun but its there if you load up the remix ray tracing mod so i don't know what's happening there .

This looks awesome.
All this needed was Doom 3 SFX and the PSX Doom OST.
the voxels dont look right close up with rtx they need to reshade it some how so it doesn't look weird. perhaps have transluency

Overused damaging floor makes this map my most hated one in the whole game.
It is certainly not one of the best maps in the game.

The highlights are way too oversaturated.
yeah i agree the colour scheme is awful other then that excellent rtx work
