I came to love this show in my mid-20’s: those odyssey years after college wherein those of us who didn’t have it as figured out as our peers ended up back home working shitty jobs and stewing in self-hatred. Back then, it reminded me fondly of the dynamic I shared with my small group of fellow misfits and offbeat sorts, and it was one of those rare shows that made me feel genuinely understood. Now as a man in my mid-30’s, working as a public school history teacher, I can return to this show and have it evoke the same fondness, and that’s something very special.
When I first saw the scene with Benson crying I was so surprised by how much I empathized with him. I used to hate his character before then but I never felt so bad for one before, you really have to render a man completely hopeless for him to break down sobbing like that. It was one of the first instances of good writing/character development I can remember in a show.
On the first few seasons he is pretty typical evil boss But later season we look more into him and realize the dude had so much potential he basically ruined himself into midlife crisis Good thing he had a happy ending with the scientist woman
That thumbnail was was so sad seeing skips surrounded by the tombstones of his friends really makes you think about immortality though I always thought high five ghost was immortal as well

But people were saying skips has so much knowledge and he lives for thousands of years that they made high five ghost die to emphasise that skips had gone through a lot in his life and that he truly suffered throughout being immortal. I was to young to see that but now it makes more sense then it did back when I was a small kid

I now realize how actual The Regualar Show is, as a kid I didnt always think about it, but now I understand how many things of the Tvshow are in common with todays problems
That last episode was the end of an era, regular show was my favourite cartoon as a kid, and watching it end was emotional. Such a well written ending as well, rewatch parts now and again for the nostalgia
I know many people (myself included) prefer other seasons over the ones with the relationship stories, but those episodes actually handled that stuff so well.
This stuff makes me feel like I’m wasting my life. It makes me feel... sort of sad in a way. All the things that are and were in my life are going to end someday, and I can do nothing to stop it. And regular show was very important to me when I was little, and now that it ended with many other childhood shows (I.e. Regular Show, Gumball, and oddly FBaCC) are going to be lost one day. Tapes will disintegrate, DVDs will rot, but memories will stay. But even memories can be forgotten and lost in time. Live your life to the fullest. Be who you want to be. I’m just a commenter, and you’ll probably scroll by me anyway. Wherever you are in the world, I want you to know: You live once. You can’t reincarnate and be a completely different person, and that’s just the way it goes. Whether you’re a Christian or a Buddhist, life still doesn’t repeat itself. Some will live in luxury, and some will burn for eternity. That’s just how life is gonna be. Thank you for letting me babble, it means a lot to me.
Pop's death was heartbreaking, but Mordecai's depression and montage of his friends motivating a recovery hit a nerve deeper than any cartoon I can remember watching around that time. Something particularly with the brief moment MuscleMan and Hi-5 are joking to make him laugh, and his unkempt, simple shake of the head at their antics. I've felt that. I could empathise the exact emotions being portrayed in that brief scene. Absolutely incredible.
I think there’s more to the bowling episode than we think. Skips didn’t leave because Death threatened to reveal his real name. He left because he was afraid of his friends being curious about his past and the pain he went through. His old name reminded him of his life before he became immortal, it reminded him of Mona and how he lost her. He was afraid of revealing to his friends that’s he’s immortal and that he will outlive everyone he knows and loves including them. While many people think immortality is awesome, it’s really tragic. That’s why I’m my opinion Skips is the most tragic character in Regular Show.

Pops: *die*
Me: *cry* NOOO.
Parent: what happened?
Me: i want everyone to salute to pops *cri* .
1:28 the build up to this scene makes it even more sad when Benson breaks.
I CRIED WHEN POPS DIED THIS IS SUCH A UNDERRATED SHOW AND MY CHILDHOOD
i think benson crying hits hard bc its like seeing your dad cry. seeing with a hard exterior breaking down will always hit you in the feels
This was the only time a show made me cry, the show may seem special, has driving plot, characters, development, and action. And it makes it seem like one of a kind. In the end, it was all just a Regular Show. It was Truly, a Jolly good show.
Regular show matured so gracefully.
Poor pops he was always nice and calm and when I saw that he died that almost mad me cry...rip
Watching this on Valentine’s Day makes me feel better
It was only until I saw this comment that I realised why I was really here.
I'm missing these guys....hope we'll be able to see you again ❤️
We miss you Regular Show, Mordecai, Rigby, Benson, MM, Pops, Skips and Hi-5 Ghost. Now it’s turn to the Legendary Show.
I relate immensely to Skips. This video was a walk down memory lane.
i loved season 7 when they found out the park was an experiment the whole time and went to space
I love the part where pops wins the battle against anti-pops, and lives happily ever after.
Goodbye, Pops. You weren't the hero we deserved but the hero we needed.
