- BEACH CAMPING AROUND ESPERANCE AND LUCKY BAY | FAMILY TRAVEL AUSTRALIA CARAVANNING. We are a family who have been caravanning around Australia for over a year, travelling and living full time in our caravan. Van life is awesome and we love bringing you with us on the lap of Australia, caravanning Australia! In this episode we do a lot of beach camping, starting our Western Australia road trip tour at Esperance and then Lucky Bay Campground, which we've previously been told is the best campground, and has the best beaches, in Australia.
We also look at Kalgoorlie and Esperance, then into Cape Le Grand for Lucky Bay, Thistle Cove, Hellfire Bay and Frenchman Peak. We then do some beach camping at Membinup Beach where we have an awesome camp fire, use our jaffle maker, enjoy Easter, and have an up close swim with a wild sea lion. We also go to Condingup and Hopetoun where we climb a mountain that ends up being a bit harder than we had bargained for!
We love travelling and are stoked that UA-cam allows us to travel vlog, bringing you along on the travel adventure with us living a van life.

What a beautiful beach. Looks like loads of fun. We are getting ready to drive around the whole coast of Florida to surf and swim. Very motivating channel to just get out there.

Jaffle. If you put chopped sausages in with Baked beans and put in hopped parsley and use wholemeal bread.. there's nutrition. Then to be different use puff pastry and put apples in centre, or banana or pineapple and have with Ice cream. Another savoury suggestion is to is to put your leftover meat in between wholemeal bread eg. with Mint sauce with Lamb, or Beef with Tomato sauce. Or corned beef with chutney etc. You can have these as a meal on their own or with a sidesalad.
You can make also Cornish Pasties in your Jaffle iron too!

@@onthewaughpath6552 Just make sure that when you use Frozen puff pastry sheets you use a double layer (otherwise the centre will become soggy, break and insides ooze out).
Other suggestions for fillings are asparagus and cheese, asparagus and creamed corn, tomato and cheese. curried egg or any leftovers from yesterday's meals covered with appropriate condiments (sauces or pickles etc). Even use yesterdays leftover BBQ meats between bread and cover with egg, tomato or cheese for a quick breakfast ( I use wholemeal bread to be healthy).
You can even use your Jaffle Iron on the gas burners on the Stove (eg on wet days) Use it like a 'Breville' (sandwich toaster).... Just make sure The kids are away from the hot long handles and keep the Burners on low. Ensure the hot parts do not damage any surrounding laminated benchtops. I have no doubt you could use it on a small induction cooker out under the awning too. Turn the Jaffle iron every two minutes or so until cooked.so to avoid burning in all situations.
How does your Jeep GC behave hauling the Jayco? I got 12 Kms a litre on a trip to Melbourne hauling a box trailer Highway. with my 2006 Jeep GC 3.0 CRD. 9.6 in the Suburbs. I would imagine on the plains excellent, only on the hills I am wondering. I would imagine it would be around 7 kms to the litre towing fully laden in hilly terrain.

Salami and creamed corn are the best jaffles. Also Saltana toast filled with canned apples and cinnamon for desert with custard. Don't know what you have been missing all these years

We lived in Esperance for a few years, loved chucking the BBQ in the back of the car and heading out for a day at the beach and a BBQ lunch. Best beaches in Australia. Good job guys, keep up the good work.

We love a good walk, and there are heaps of stunning ones around Australia, Tassie was prob one of our favs for walks.
Suggestion: Having an episode number helps people work out the route you took and play videos in order, especially if they find you a few years down the track

What tyre pressure do you use when driving on the beach with the van
Hi Greg. It depends on how soft the sand is, but we normally take them down to around 20.
How do you secure the van at a free camp while sightseeing?
Hi mate. We don't leave the van unless the freecamp feels safe and there are other vans/people around. We have some security measures also, for example locked wheel chocks. We also do things like leave the legs down and awning out etc. which would make it less attractive to take.
