Cao, Petko. Vec neko vrijeme pratim tvoj kanal, zavoljela sam tarantule zbog tebe i cak nabavila brazilsku crnu.
Ps. Sori na litaniji koju sam poslala 😘😘

I have a N.incei communal and in the start they were 9 and one died while molting. I can count the rest and they are all in a 11 x 11 cm enclosure (they are about 3 cm legspan now). I start seeing signs of agression now when they are bigger and to be honest i thought of rehousing them now all together in something bigger but i decided to separate them. Less risk and much easier to handle and see when they molt and eat. Mine are so fast and tend to run out when i open the lid that it will be easier to handle one at the time. But I am surprized that they all survived so far. They always have live dubias in the enclosure.

I never heard them to be kept communal successfully after they reach certain size

I don’t know if this idea would be better or easier....put the container into whatever enclosure your moving them to, open it up and leave it for a day or two and maybe they will move out on their own

Neoholothele incei are, as far as I know, the only tarantulas that live kinda communal in nature. They tend to have their burrows not further than 10cm apart from each other and they live in colonies of several hundred Ts. I believe the biggest colony observed was about 10.000 spiders.

Could be they should have been rehoused into something bigger a bit earlier. Wasn't only one of them left so battle royale wasn't going on from the start I guess. But I don't know more than you. I was waiting for this update since I had in mind to try my own incei communal. Won't do it now :C
Glad you had chocolate to lessen the pain.

You could/should use corn starch on the sides of the box you're trying to contain them in. They can't climb up if it's slippery from the corn starch..

I thought the first enclousures were too small for the 15 of them since the begining. It might have played a roll in their behavior.

I heard somewhere that the normals was more friendly in communal setups. Or maybe it was the gold, I don't remember.
In my eyes it seems like the reason was overcrowding. Think about it, 15 tarantulas in the size they were when you rehoused them in thet tub, each individual don't have a lot of space.
I'm sorry for your loss. Let's hope it gets better in the new enclosure.

Don't worry to much, Petko. Maybe there are successful communal enclosures with neoholothele incei. But as you know, tarantulas have their own character and attitude. If there is only ONE tarantula, who doesn't like to be kept communal, than it will attack and kill every other tarantula it can reach. And this will go on until the T is satisfied with the outcome.
It's not easy to say: These are communal. The sentence should be: There are successful communal enclosures out there.

Okay so we make a coliseum enclsoure, x many rooms with x many tarantulas. If they want they can join the middle, if not they can hide in their cells, if they die, A memento mori.

Hmmm I defo agree N Incei are not communal, I was shocked only 7 remained from 15 but 4 from 15 with the gold morph??? That says it all really eh, great video and I’m very intrigued to see what happened next with them, thanks for doing this experiment, I think it’s important people know what outcome to expect if they choose to communally house this species

The communal could still work if they don't eat each other before they mature and start breeding. Best of luck Petko.
