HondoFelder I was talking about his neck. Not the bass’ neck, his own. Ya know, the fleshy thing between his head and his shoulders? Where food, air and blood go through? That neck.
What's really funny is people saying "I can tell this is a Fender p bass from the 60s" or a "70s jazz bass" and I haven't got a clue. But I can hear a Dingwall a mile off!
There's quite a bit of bass in his signal. It's just that in this style of music, low mids are cut out quite a bit because they sound muddy with lower tunings (granted he's in standard so the low b) or it's too muddy in the total mix. The high end attack is so that he can cut through the mix or blend in with distorted guitars for this "wall of distortion"
it’s the dingwall + dark glass sound. it’s just to allow the bass to cut thru when your playing with extended range guitars or dropped tuned guitars since so much of the harmonic ranges overlap: a lot of shit gets lost in the mix. but i do agree, as a straight up bass tone- i can’t stand this combo
damn dood, where is this guy from, he work for darkglass or in a band...? Also, is he using a 410 and a 212 or 410 and 115? Regardless he's got over 10 grand of equipment there to make this sound lol..
Jacob "fingers of steel" Umansky
Dat 3-fingers technique tho (/◕ヮ◕)/

@Inabón Diaz He does
The therme Dingglass should be a thing.
Jesus tap dancing Christ.... My bass just walked tf out of my house.
Darkglass+Dingwall=God-like bass tone.
Sounds like a giant with serrated fingernails playing bridge cables...
I love it.
Distorted "bridge cable" sound is my favorite kind of bass tone :D
Nickel-plated steel bridge cables with a round core. Hex core is too stiff.
Hell yes! Rubicon Artist is my all time favorite song by intervals
He plays so well, it almost distracts you from how gigantically long his neck is. Almost.
It's also pretty wide...lol. I have that bass and the neck is a killer for smaller handed guys like me😭. Still sick though🤘🏽

@@gab.lab.martins maybe try to be less of a dick huh.....because it distracts you from how squashed up your face is.
I can't unsee this now.
that low B sounds so ferocious i assumed it was WAY downtuned till i tried to play along..."tried" being the key word here.

this tone fits well in the mix
Jacob is my favourite bassist and this song is so inspiring for bass players!
Hope I can reach to his level one day!
Agree on everything you said
Awesome Progressive Metal bass playing!
Unpopular opinion, Bassist get more guys and gals than all the other players in the band bc they are sexier 😜
Ugh so unbelievably sick. I'm picking up my X7 today and I'm so excited.
Great job + this bass looks fantastic
For heavy music I don't think there is any better bass combo than this.
Yet again, I don't understand why this guy uses this super-tinny metallic tone.

*probably listening to this on phone speakers*
you kno listening to full bodied audio would most likely stop your whining.

Man this was so sick to watch and listen to. We need more videos like this of Jacob

He's the bassist for a band called Intervals. Check em out, they kick ass.
This song is ridiculous and I mean that in the best way possible. 🙌🏽
That tone is unreal and beautiful
Holy moly, smooth distorted sound!
Umansky is cool. He could have torn bathroom tiles with his sound instead of a jackhammer
impressive plying but the song doesn't make any sense
Sir love from India 🇮🇳🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Это просто Супер!
distortion sounds nice but just look at that NG-3...so purdy
looks sped up
just amazing!
This is cool🔥

Name of the song??

basssssssically the perfect distorted bass tone and the reason I bought the Darkglass X7 (fucking amazing pedal 10/10 best thing to impact my sound)
That certainly is one of thinnest and most anemic bass drives I've heard
I don't know if I agree, it is super scooped but there's a decent amount of low bass in there, sits well in the mix to me!
All about context. Perfect tone for this song and this mix
@@bryangray4178 Can't argue with that ;)
This is all rather polite...no arguing? Lol finally some rational people on a YT comments section.
listening to this on speakers is a definite character of its tone.
Badddd Sound! where is low freq?!
Are you listening on good speakers?
@@DJProfessorL yuppppp,i have a studio monitoring,krk vxt4 bro,
Nah he's listening on his tin can phone speakers. Plenty of low end coming out of decent speakers.
There is literally no low end.
It's just a very mid-centered tone which makes it cut through the mix better, but there's plenty of low and as well
imagine if he was black ;)
ok. what the fuck are you on?
Imagine if we stopped concerning race with everything, regardless of black or white this dudes crazy
