_Animals as Leaders_ "We dont need a bassist."
_Intervals_ "Hold our cold pressed juice..."
You're accuracy is terrifying
I wish I understood this reference...
would be cool if martinie joined AAL
But they record with bass so they find it useful everywhere but live I guess
@@WowzaGuy Animals as Leaders is a modern guitar band with no bassist. Intervals is another band classified in the same genre that is very guitar intensive and the use bass incredibly effectively. This track has is playing on this video is from Intervals latest album. check it out.
Absolute Animal of a Bassist. That Dingwall 6 looks insane too.
Alex Capes Animals As Bassists
I completely agree
@@PeeNidsCold tbh they kinda need him, their latest album sounds thin on those "bass" parts
$10,000 insane?
Fucking love Dingwalls
Top-tier musician. It's one thing to be able to record those basslines, it is quite another to play them in a live-recorded, stressful setting at that level of performance. There is no cheating here. His playing is tighter and more spotless that most of the players out there, compare with other namm videos. Jacob deserves much more credit than he currently has!
Baptiste Watiez // XPol podcast crazy shit is he isn’t even their session bassist I talked to Aaron at a show and all I talked about was their bass work 😂
@@KylePBass I think that Aaron is just like Plini in the sense that he programs everything by himself and then gets a band to play it, at least that's what he told us in the masterclass I saw!
That’s changing on the new record :D
@@JacobUmansky Awesome! Can't wait to hear it.
@Takyo Bish This is totally true if you record in one take. If you decide to use "studio magic" however (several takes, reamping, quantization, ...), you have a lot more options!
5:48 this part is just insane *-*
I like intervals, makes me feel like I’m on a surf board ride that shouldn’t end.
Couldn't describe that feeling more accurately
This guy looks like he only ever needs the first take when tracking. Jesus. Does he even make mistakes?
Only he knows his technical mistakes. We just hear pure music.
I'm sure he practices
40 sec. his face says he made a mistake, but it was inaudible to me.
That weird fast pick/slide at 0:41 seconds does seem a little off but hey, I'm not qualified enough to say anything...
He's probably just great at hiding them. Everybody makes mistakes.
I bought a lot of Darkglass gear because of this man. Jacob has the best tone for modern rock and djent
The tone is achieved by using Dingwall+Darkglass haha. I think that the precursor of this tone was Nolly, from Periphery.
@@DEM94 The Strandberg Basses look very similar to that DingWall, similar prices too. Picking myself up a 410N next friday. pretty excited. Not gonna pull the trigger on any DG amps tho, gonna stick with SVT4. Fun fact, an SVT weighs 7 times more than a DG amp.. Man I could toss that in my backpack.
Juno You can buy a Dingwall for 2K, while the Strandberg Bass costs 3.4K. Jacob’s Dingwall costs over 4K probably. I’ll rather buy an NG3 for 2K hahaha. Imo, spending more than 2K in an instrument is wasting money. You can get similar specs for less.
@@DEM94 While I agree on the specs, you don't get the build quality going with factory made basses, for Ex: I just got a Sire V10, and it sounds better than any J bass i've ever played, and I own a Fender Elite J. But playing a Fodera and Sadowsky..you can tell why they're so expensive. Although I do think theyre both way over priced, I'm not sure why a bass would cost 7-15k for the higher models. although there are lower models 3-6k.. still an insane amount of G string 1$ bills.
Another prominent Darkglass user who's tones I love is Jon Stockman of Karnivool and Amos Williams of tesseract. Of course they both don't use Dingwall (JS uses Warwick and AW is a former Warwick player, now I'm with Kiesel)
Jacob did incredible work on the latest Intervals album. I absolutely love it! The joy he shows when playing is infectious.
I started clapping at my desk at work when he finished the first song. He's a beast.
Incredible sick tones and playing, Darkglass is the sound of modern rock/metal tones!
phenomenal playing and tone
Adam Nolly Getgood, Simon Groove and Jacob Humansky.
Why are my favorite bassists wearing glasses?
Even Geddy Lee lmao
I KNOW RIGHT
his contacts were not ready?
that not simply glass, that's dark glass. hha
+ Pino Palladino + Lee Sklar + Federico Malaman lol
playing this live must make him feel like a total bad ass every time haha. Soooo dope!
Incredible. Playing is so smooth and that tone. Daaaamn
I Remember seeing the first videos of jacob in you tube and think " MAN" now he is even better!!! well done mr jacob you are going to be remembered for generations!!!

Love the tone! And skill.
FFS, each time I come back, I rewind that 5:49 clip like a hundred times, oh my GOD
Saw your comment before I got to that point, paused to reply. I will report back wether or not anyone can trust your judgement in life

Amazing Level! I want the same Dingwall and Jacob’s fingers for Xmas👍😂

Snare drum sound reminds me to 1993 Images And Words.

If anyone was on the fence about buying a Dingwall, this vid would be the selling point!
Freaking WOW!!!!!!

That bass tone is so sick I want to take it to the ER

What a rush it must be to play at that level.
Just awesome to watch.

I don't know what kind of music this is but I'm gonna find more of it! This guy is unreal and love his tone!

Magnífico!!!!!!!!!!!
Very nice
I’m a guitarist but every time I see him play I think it’s a good idea to switch to bass :)
Who wants Ryan Martinie on NAMM?

@@adammays3128 it would make my day....
Oh god yes please!
I really do...
5:35.... Wut.
Hey Jacob,
You got a head-banging fan out there behind you \m/
Does anyone know the name of the second track he plays ? It sounds awesome !
Intervals - By Far and Away. Enjoy!
02:23 SICK!
Jacob!! SOS UN ANIMAL TOCANDO EL BAJO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GENIO TOTAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
An absolut monster \m/
as the late great mr entwistle used to say, "he isn't a bassist, he is a bass guitarist!" Dude str8 Murders
Absolutely amazing. My brain melted at 5:56 in the second tune.
This sounds great! Why didn't Jared Smith get this good of a mix?
True skilled player doesn't care about people's attention
I think hes has the right amount
so, what's his live setup? :)
Frederic Dubrule when I saw him I saw a micro tubes 500, I think Mesa cabs, and x7. I don’t remember what else
Once you have a head-banging fan, then you're a successful musician!
wow .... 2 hat else did he get for Christmas 🎅✌
Killer fukin tone jacob!!
めちゃめちゃかっちょえー!
Ive been playing bass for 20 years and I’ve never seen a better bassist than Jacob. I’m in awe
That's a great track. Seeing him play it is cool
🤯
He's a monster
Nice
hahaha love in the beginning he scared those guys
What are those songs? Btw super play, such an inspiration
Easily the most underrated bassist in the game rn
He's like Gary Willis of metal! 😎
2 dreams in one video, a dingwall bass and Darkglass, like we say in BRazil "Chefe é Chefe né
Pai", great work Jacob!
Is he still in Painted in Exile and The Faceless?
Killa.
Djenty, prog rock, metal jazz master. Very cool O.M.G. smash like. Do it now
Ya like jazz
The tune reminds me a bit of Guthrie Govan's Waves.
Song is black box for anyone wondering
Jacob is a fucking beast...
Good.
RG2228 variant seen at 45 second mark??? bottom right hand of screen?
Must be a lot of incredible players at NAMM , because no one is even noticing this guy.

What Are both the songs?
