I purchased three of your mugs at a Village Victorian Bed & Breakfast in Morrisville, VT 15 years ago! They are as good today as then and I LOVE the hand feel of the mugs. PERFECT!!!! I highly recommend these mugs!!
They've been making mugs for Minnesota Renaissance festival for many years. Beautiful mugs, high quality. Minn ren rest started in 1971 and Deneen was founded in 1972...what was first year Deneen made mugs for MRF, and what did they look like?
Believe it or not, the decoration was done with a brush! We had a calligrapher that hand lettered “Minnesota Renaissance Festival” on hundreds of tankards. We have one in our permanent collection from the early 1980’s.
hi and thanks for the response. the earliest mug I have ever found with a date on it is 1978. undated mugs are assumed to be pre-1978, but ive never been able to find out what year the first mugs were made. do you know what was the first year deneen made mugs for the mrf? and some of the bottoms are signed "holmquist"...was that one of your potters back in the 70s who made the mugs?
