I'm in love with Shawn!!!!!! She's amazingly talented beautiful strong powerful and perfect! She's the reason I want to be in gymnastics my parents cant afford it so I try to teach myself!!!! I'm in love with Shawn! I cannot stop watching her she's really amazing and I hope she makes it in 2012!!!!!-3
linda apresentação, uma serie bem dificil mas que s.j tirou de letra pq e a melhor atleta da ginastica artistica do mundoo .. parabennss shawn johnsons
Can someone explain to me what a "lunge" out of the jump is and the difference between that and the jumps or leaps (like a stag jump/leap, I think it's called) that they are now allowed to do after their landings?
i love her double twisting double tuck it was so consent and perfect it sucks that they had to take it out oh well im sure her double layout will be really good for her comeback
Shawn would’ve benefited so much more from the new CoP. Nastias 7.7 start value on bars just gave herself so much leverage. Shawn only qualified less than 0.35 points over nastia even when nastia had a 0.8-point-fall. Although Shawn was my favorite, I expected nastia to win the gold if both hit their routines.
In my opinion no one actually “deserved it more” if you see their recent comps there was never a dominant one , they both had weaknesses , shawns shitty bars and fucked up vault , and nastias disgusting form and level 10 vaults , but that cop was so retarted since it gave nastia like a 1.5 edge on her bars routine alone ..i believe on the day shawn was better bas maybe she wasnt robbed but i think nastia wasnt as cleany executing routines that day but her higher bars difficulty made the cut
@LMA629 I thuink it is muscle memory... I can't remember what competition it was, but I saw a floor routine where Elena Zamolodchikova just stepped out of bounds because she stepped just a tiny fraction too far back - it was so sad to watch!
When she does her whip triple her landing always seems like its to one side of the floor and not down the center. Then I see her other tumbling passes and she is straight down the middle. Does anyone know why this is?
@dragonmaster97531 Her double double was fine. In the 2008 code, that was counted as "dancing out" of tumbles. However, I agree with you on the fact that here splits weren't all there.
@chinghxd Right? I totally agree. The men don't have music, choreography, leaps, or spins. They should focus on sticking the landings. It's nice when the women stick a pass now and then, but seeing them smash into the ground and jump back 10 feet to avoid a stupid, useless deduction isn't my idea of artistic. A controlled step would be easier on the body and would be more pleasing to the eye.
I found .6 in landings alone...let alone jumps...her difficulty is 6.5... 6.5+9.400 is 15.900...that's not even close in gymnastics to a 16.200 and 15.900 would be stretching to the extreme. You can't tell me they gave her the right number. She's awesome...but seriously...
Why have we taken such a huge step backwards in floor music? This is gorgeous, so was Nastia Liukin's, so was Alicia Sacramone's. Compare it to the cheezy club mixes of today and its a bit saddening.
The scoring is different now than it was in 2008. They have bumped up the requirements and made scoring much more picky and higher deductions for things that didn't used to incur as much. Yes 16s are rare now -- this routine probably would be a 15 under the new code of points.
@Roxieroserosietoes She's trying again for the 2012 olympics! But the sport is insanely hard on your body, and most women gymnasts peak during 16-20 usually.
@Jessicakingxxxx A double twisting double tuck isn't a double arabian. It's either called a double twisting double tuck like jeyzi said or a double double. Shawn hasn't done a double arabian since like '05 or '06. A double is arabian is when you do backhandspring then when you come up to do the flip you twist to the front and do a double front tuck. Watch Alicia Sacramone on floor her 2nd pass is a double arabian.
She never got the triple full all the way around but she was close. The problem was she took a big step out of it that should have been a deduction (.1-.3) for lack of control. I think she got screwed over on floor because the Olympic judges didn’t score her anywhere near as well as the domestic judges. At the Olympics they took off for the poor flexibility and uncontrolled landings when they didn’t in the US. She got a 16.2 in the US for this routine. She did better routines at the Olympics and got a 15.5. People thought she would win because they’d assume she’d het higher scores on floor (and the other events to a lesser degree.)
a lunge out of a landing (not a jump) is the step that women typically take after tumbling passes. this was changed in the 09-12 code, so women have to stick landings cold. so some women connect their tumbling passes to jumps so they are easier to stick or so they can dance out of it without a landing deduction
@gymLYYFE Her full-in was fine. She had control of it and it was not almost out of bounds. But the triple could have been better. Plus she was underscored most of the olympics. Give her a break.
The 15.5 she got at the olympics for a cleaner routine was MUCH more accurate, Olympic trials and domestic competition scores are so weirdly unhelpfully inflated. A 9.6+ execution score is beyond absurd and that’s what Shawn got for floor both days
@MrJump94 Well I kinda feel sorry for her because there is obviously no gymnast who would have scored a 16 let alone over a 16 and because she was "cute" all the US judges overscored her and Nastia beat her. Nastia I guess did have a bad year up untill the Olympics but the differences were massive between her and Shawn. I do think everything was very clean (in the old code when you don't have to stick) except the triple was a bit out of control.
@MrJump94 I have to agree that whip over to triple is done so much worse then Fei, and Pavlova. Yes all you Shawn Johnson lovers, it is and never was resonable to find only .2 in execution, that step on the triple was worth a .3. There proven overscored, she has a 6.4 start value, not to mention her splits were questionable expecially on the 1.5. That's why she got a 15.500 in the Olympics. Hmm let's all have a great big reality check 16.200 means the judges were almost spectators.
I love this routine but I wonder how it would score today. It seems like the judges have gotten so much more strict with the steps or lunges after tumbling passes. Almost all of Shawn's steps are more than shoulder length apart so would incur at least a 3 tenth deduction. Does anyone know how they scored lunges after passes in 2008?
i love how she smiles after EVERY tumbling pass:)
she totally deserved that 16.2!!! her routine was amazing!
Yes! Simone Biles quality routine
shawn is soooo pretty
They were good landings . . . in the 05-08 code you could lunge on your landings . . . now they have to be stuck cold or you get a deduction!!
I miss the step out landings.
But a lunge is a CONTROLLED step and she only showed this on the landings of her double twist and full in.
@@kevinbritton8583 yeah the second pass definitely wasn’t a controlled lunge. That would have been a deduction
I love deductions! More deductions, more me!!
I loved this floor music
i love to see her smile and i love her floor music!!!!
I've always loved her choice of music for this routine.
omg, she is so graceful while performing.....
that`s the best I`ve ever seen so far!!
Shawn Johnson + August Rush = AMAZING.
i know it sucks that she retired, i started crying when i heard the news
same here!
its so strong and fits her power so well!
I just LOVE this floor routine! and the music(:
omg!! i love her music and her routinee... i just love shawn johnson..
I love how you van hear the springs as she does it its AMAZING!!
Who watched this after reading The Flipside? She actually did wear a purple leotard, and her last pass was a full twisting double back!!!!!!!
shawnathegymnast you didn’t know that!?
Her opening pass is mind blowing
I love how she points her toes in her double double.
she almost made me die in flourishment from that routine!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AMAZING!!!!!
amazing that she does a whip, triple full with momentum to spare!
Shawn Johnson is my gymnast idol...❤
I'm in love with Shawn!!!!!! She's amazingly talented beautiful strong powerful and perfect! She's the reason I want to be in gymnastics my parents cant afford it so I try to teach myself!!!! I'm in love with Shawn! I cannot stop watching her she's really amazing and I hope she makes it in 2012!!!!!-3
her quad muscles are awesomeee
Look for Cortney McCool and even more the beautiful Maria Scaffidi
love when at 0:50 all the crowd is cheering her!
she was so tiny omg adorable!!!!!
Shawn is so cool! I love her so badly
she will dominate in 2012!!! GO SHAWN!!
Well this aged well😂
linda apresentação, uma serie bem dificil mas que s.j tirou de letra pq e a melhor atleta da ginastica artistica do mundoo .. parabennss shawn johnsons
I love her August Rush floor music
Wow wow wow and more wow I want to be like Shawn when I'm older!!!
Can someone explain to me what a "lunge" out of the jump is and the difference between that and the jumps or leaps (like a stag jump/leap, I think it's called) that they are now allowed to do after their landings?
she is my favorite one of all
Love the floor n music
i love her double twisting double tuck it was so consent and perfect it sucks that they had to take it out oh well im sure her double layout will be really good for her comeback
I love Nastia but Shawn should have won the AA in Beijing
You're right. Her clunky gymnastics, wobbles on beam, botched vault, and chest down on nearly every landing really was worthy of Olympic AA Gold.
yes and nastias cowboyd legs, ugly twisting and low difficulty on vault and floor were also AA champion worthy

Grace Conerly definitely!!! although nastia overall had better technique, shawn's difficulty was out of nastia's world
@LMA629 I thuink it is muscle memory... I can't remember what competition it was, but I saw a floor routine where Elena Zamolodchikova just stepped out of bounds because she stepped just a tiny fraction too far back - it was so sad to watch!
you are so amazing what you can do I wish I could do that I only can do the bars and the beams and I have been studying on you for 2 years so much
i watched this live that day.

@Roxieroserosietoes She is still considering the 2012 olympics! Hopefully she makes the final cut! She is an AMAZING gymnast!
Why have we taken such a huge step backwards in floor music? This is gorgeous, so was Nastia Liukin's, so was Alicia Sacramone's. Compare it to the cheezy club mixes of today and its a bit saddening.
@Phillo127 They aren't "supposed to be short". Back in the day, most were in the 5 feet range. I believe Shawn is 5'1" now or 5'0".
is shawn johnson gonna be int the next olympics?
what was her difficulty score?
is this sped up???
is that the real music??? i´t used to be diffrent
What do you mean she will be missed?
song from august rush!
Man, I wish I had her muscles!!!
@Roxieroserosietoes nope shes now training to see if she can go to the 2012 olympics :)
I am convinced I can hear her take that breath before her final tumbling pass!
if you're a gymnast what's your fave event and your most high scoring event comment down below
unfortunately, she didn't. i was sooooooo looking forward to seeing her - but i'm glad she recovered well :)
its the song from august rush
Gasp! Did her foot go out around 0:54?!?! It looks wicked close. Either way, she's such a beast ;)

I really wish I could agree with you but not any more....
Shawn Johnson you will be Missed.... :'(
Whats the start value!?
6.4
Jorge Lara Alvarez Really? Because she got a 16.2 as the final score. I don't know if that's right.
StuffBySter maybe she got some addition bonus in here, but her score is way too high, she only score 15.500 in 2008 Olympic
@Roxieroserosietoes She's trying again for the 2012 olympics! But the sport is insanely hard on your body, and most women gymnasts peak during 16-20 usually.
nearly isent out of bounds though is it???

the floor sounds REALLY bouncy!

How on earth did this score better than day 1. Her whip to triple was so much better day 1

Yeah apparently the comments I post don't get "approved" because they say things that aren't lovley about Shawn Johnson...
yes
@Gummybearkittay65 gymnasts are supposed to be short. Shawn Johnson isn't even 5 ft.
@KVHolland3 But remember in the 2008 you didn't have to stick landings like you do now (:
@lifesAnnette Yea cause there's springs under it.
@lilbootsy16 its ur computer.
she's got a great physique.
Good routine with spanish guitar :3
@katddd6 maybe but shawn has a way higher starting value so her routine wil always score higher than chellsies
If Shawn did a double L spin instead of a full during floor finals in Beijing, she would've won against Sandra
That always confused me.
Roundoff,whip,Triple twist
0:38 awesome split
The four people who disliked this are Chinese gymnasts...
@gymLYYFE Her full-in was fine. She had control of it and it was not almost out of bounds. But the triple could have been better. Plus she was underscored most of the olympics. Give her a break.
shes so muscular!! :D

True, the inflation and sometimes perfect scores do not benefit anyone, neither the viewer nor the gymnast. Still, this routine was a joy to watch.
That's because back then taking a step back did not count as a deduction
@@heartshapedIeaves No. It's because she was an american competing in the USA.
Pause at 1:28 she's in the air!
I hate those people when someone they love retire and they start crying , it's just

I wanna be a gymnast sooo bad but everyone says I can't be one cuz I'm too short :/
nobody else but shawn is competing XD
0:18 Shawn Johnson is so hot!😍😘❤️👊🏾
wow!!! great routine :D jus one thing, wats with the music?? it didnt really go with it and it kinda ruined it for me...
@Ccgirl4 Agree with JohnPhillipSousa519 the difficulty was higher
I love this routine but I wonder how it would score today. It seems like the judges have gotten so much more strict with the steps or lunges after tumbling passes. i don't like it ...i LOVE IT! =D
i think she just landed on the line
@Ccgirl4 She had a more difficult routine for one thing...
