Thanks for the awesome demo! I watched this when I was deciding whether or not to buy one, now I have one I'm watching it again to see if I missed anything! I didn't realise there was a function for two drum banks so I'm gonna have to play around with that. I've been having great fun with mine. I've done a couple of videos using my Akai mini play with my loop station which have been really fun to create!
I’ve restlessly been searching and watching TONS of videos on this product and trying to get a better idea on how exactly it works, but there’s so much crucial information/questions other users have left out or have not answered. You, Sir, have the BEST video explaining AND showing EVERY important, fun part about this product!! Now I definitely know I want this!! Thank you for being the first person that I’VE watched mention the looper pedal!! AND the two banks for the drums!! 👏🏼🙏🏼👍🏼
Thanks a lot for the review! Great dog by the way :). Hesitating on getting the mini play to add drums and a bunch of sounds while playing with my looper... I might get it!
Around the 12-14 minute marks, all of the sudden it's Behind the Scenes in the studio with Sisters of Mercy. I'm so buying one of these things as a toy.
the arpeggiator section was probably the coolest demo of this thing. I have it and haven't been able to figure out how to incorporate that feature just yet, but I will one day.
Could you make a video on your setup please? I’m a beginner and I just bought one and want to know how to loop and all this stuff. Btw continue your amazing I don’t understand how you are not more fame haha. But your making very good stuff
Can you make a video on your setup? Like what the mpk is hooked up to and how you use your looper pedal? That would be awesome, I'm a beginner and would love some advice for the mini play, I can't seem to find any solid tutorials or guides for it.
@@PABLOBLAZE The Akai mpk mini play is a "stand alone " piano, meaning that it has a built in speaker, sounds and drums. You do not need to hook it up to anything in order to use, but it can be hooked up to a laptop or tablet to be used as a midi controller. Make sure that if you do not want to mess with hooking it up to a laptop or tablet, that you buy the mpk mini play, and not the akai mpk mini, or the akai mpk mini 2, for those are only midi controllers and require a laptop or tablet
BoneZone Music, Excellent playing for someone claiming to not be a pianist/keyboardist...lol Nice job. I've considered purchasing this Akai MPK Mini and this demo helps a lot. Do you have a video showing how to set up the looping pedal? Thanks. Shalom.
I've just ordered one of these. It would be even more awesome if it had a built-in looper, making it truly a stand-alone unit. Thanks for the demo, I really enjoyed it. :)
Nice tutorials. Ahh how did you do a loop record? did you use an external looper? Is possible to loop on software like FL studio? bought mine last week. Can you also please explain to me your setup? Thanks
Super nice demo/improvs. It certainly shows how useful this little keyboard can be. Do you know the Yamaha pss-a50? It is less complete as a controller but maybe better as a solo instrument. Anyways, I have two questions about the MPK Mini Play. Hopefully you see this and can answer. First: can the filter and envelope be applied to any of the on-board sounds? Second: does this receive midi messages or only sends them? Third: can you latch the arpeggiator and play a melody over it? Or you always need a looper? Thanks! (Unfortunately, AKAI is not great posting details about its keyboards).
I did have fun using the repeat notes and multiple pads varying the pressure to morph the sound by applying more/less pressure, while the arpeggiator did the melodies
Why there are so many guys on UA-cam telling me that the mpk mini mk2 is the better choice? I think the play version is very cool for loop musicians and if you don’t have any computer near you and you need some sounds.
Pretty good work my man, Mine just arrived today. Cant wait to try it out. Any Suggestions or tips and tricks I should know Would be greatly appreciated. Keep it up Brother \m/
Ahhh this little machine looks amazing for all you loopers out there to combine it with some guitar loops! So from the headphone out mini jack if you connect to the A/mono input of a loop pedal (leaving the B input free to connect a guitar), would the L and R signal from the Akai be summed to mono... or would one need a summing type pedal or summing amp I think they are called (stereo summed to mono pedal)? Thanks! :)
I personally use a mixer that goes into mono. The Boss rc 500 has multiple inputs and can do that. I want to say my old boss RC 3 had the ability to loop in stereo with a mono output, not 100 percent sure though.
Hi, Thanks for the review! Quick question, how did you connect it to a looper pedal? I don't think it has a 6.3mm jack, and I wanted to figure out if it could be connected before I purchase. Thanks!
It requires a 3.5mm to 1/4” adapter. I’m a guitarist and I just got one of these to add piano and drums to my loops. Hasn’t arrived yet but I’m really excited.
