- This isn't your step-uncles distortion pedal, he pawned it in the 90's. This will, however, get you all the tones from the days of FM Radio embracing rock and heavy metal guitar sounds, and blasting them into our ever loving ears. I was impressed with how easily I could dial in the feel and sound of many different bands that helped establish what we can do with some high gain and some attitude.

As a fan of heavy rock, my favorite effect on the electric guitar is distortion. From Joyo I have four Distortion pedals (Us Dream, Splinter, UZI and Dark Flame), and I made myself a promise not to buy another distortion pedal, at least for now. 😅
But one day I will have a Joyo High Gain Distortion. It's a hell of a pedal. 🤘🏻

@@DoubleDguitar The Joyo Us Dream is a great distortion. It is a clone of the Suhr Riot pedal, in a version without the voice button, present in the original. I believe that in Joyo's project, they put some of this control together with the tone button. I've seen videos comparing the original with the clone, and Joyo's version does very well. And of course, it is sold much cheaper than the original. For someone who lives in Brazil, where the value of the dollar is very high and import taxes are also high, pedals with Joyo's quality and price are our salvation.

Joyo pedal's are great, especially for the price, I have a deluxe crunch which I keep on my main pedalboard

I like this pedal A LOT!! It's cheap and sounds very good on most backline amps (almost always a solid state combo) we find here in Brazil. You can cover any ground between rock / metal with it. With my tribute bands (Ramones, Nirvana, Slayer and Sepultura), we always managed to get very good and usable sounds with it. Also, being a clone of the Visual Sound Son of Hyde, you can easily mod it to add a switch to tame the top end a good amount.

@@DoubleDguitar It is just a capacitor that you can solder in parallel with another one. Or you can mount it on a switch. That's what I did to mine.

Great balls of Gain! That pedal packs a punch. Lots of tones and gains there. The AC/DC, poison and 38 special tones pretty dang close. Excellent review. Haven’t heard of Joyo but now I’m gonna check them out. Rock on DD🤘🏻
