Underrated car! I have the EQA 350 4matic AMG-line on order EQA 350 AMG line with dealer discounts is ~£46k, which is LESS than an ID.4 GTX of similar spec! ~£46k for a quality interior, excellent infotainment system, 292ps dual-motor setup rated for 0-62 in 6 seconds, and a fast/flat charging curve. It’s great value! EQA 350 is MUCH cheaper than *any* MEB car on PCP - like over £150 a month cheaper, depending on how much deposit you put down. It was a no brainier for me - significantly less money than an ID.4 GTX but faster, with a much better interior and MUUUUCH better infortainment system. I think people are assuming this car will be a mediocre compliance car, but it’s really not. People are missing out 😉
It‘s a nice car, agreed. But compared to the ID.4 you lose a lot of trunk (200 liters or whatever units you use for volume nowadays 😇) and cabin space. If this is not crucial for your use case - go for it!
@@W210T the issue I have with the current VW lineup is that infotainment setup and the capacitor buttons, had a place with an ID3 and honestly it disappointed me for that…if they can rectify that in a facelift then it would be back as an option
@@Tincow That's why we went for the Skoda Enyaq. Quite good interieur (much nicer than ID.4) with "real" and more buttons, even more space and some discount compared to just no discount for the ID.4 (at least in Germany). Infotainment is really not the best, but I'm sure they will improve it over time. At least you can always fall back to Android auto / Carplay. If it's available wherever you are, I definitely encourage you to give it a spin...
It actually charges at 113 kw for a long time and has a very flat charging curve.. so it manages 1000km better than many cars with better peaks or capacity... but its not a family car as it has a quite small trunk and not so nice backseats for adults It cannot go 250 km/h or 0 to 100 km in under 4 seconds. It does not have a 500km wltp range or charge super fast. Or a funk. But in essence its a really comfortable daily commute drive. Its quiet, fast enough for normal traffic and has more that enough range to cover average commutes. Since single person commutes is what most do 99% of the time it does that well, and the AC charging is 11 kw like most other cars at a home charger so it does that well also. It even can tow 750 kg, so we can get stuff to the landfill. But it ticks none of the popular EV boxes.
I think this is why the EQA becoming so popular. A very comfortable daily EV commute that looks pretty normal on the outside and with enough range to do trips too.
Some additions / corrections on the specs: The peak charging power of the EQA is 113kW. Not with AC on. The usable battery power is 66,5 KWh Price of the EQA 250 starts at 47.000 Euro.
don't understand the price comments, everyone knows EU prices are very different to US prices, compare models that are available in both markets, us prices are always much lower.
Yeah, a lot of these super nervous blah blah people seemingly don't know, that US prices in Dollars for German premium cars are even below our European prices in Euro. Which is quite annoying for us Germans, because how can it be, that a car which costs more than 60.000 Euros in Germany doesn't even cost 55.000 Dollars in the USA? This is just crazy from Mercedes-Benz and even kind of insulting us Europeans, who have to pay the major development costs of these electric cars, which Mercedes-Benz then offers like a bargain to Americans.
Hi and. good evening There are 2 things that are of the top of my Must Have list 1. Range 2. Trip planning with Charge Stations mapped out with all the Super Chargers and how far they are apart need a great Trip planning software
Nice quick review, Kyle! I've got my EQA now and like it a lot! Not perfect, but great for what I need. I'm looking forward to an EQB or EQT, assuming the latter gets a range bump 😉
Watching the interior design, and looking at the other offerings like the Ioniq 5 EV, I'm wondering if there's a potential for future dash to be driver centric with a large screen that is designed well to integrate with carplay or android auto maps, but otherwise fairly minimalist and no center console infotainment screen (and just reserve that space for vents & vent phone mount and clean surfaces).
Super comfy, the best interior in its price range. One of the least sporty EV's. Not a lot of room especially on the back seat. Nice car for an elderly couple, but not a very exciting one.
What's under the hood? Quite a lot of space, actually! But the packaging is lazy, so no frunk 😕 Someone very creative might be able to rig something up for cable storage, but that's about it.
The hood and the front overhang could be a bit shorter, they seem unnecessarily long for an EV. Otherwise a decent looking car, although very much like all the others these days.
Well, it‘s built on an ICE (or maybe „hybrid“) platform. The overhang is needed for the big combustion engine/gearbox pack and a reasonably sized crashbox (for pedestrian safety and so on). Besides the optics trunk and cabin space suffer from this extra (for EVs almost useless) cm / inches as well.
its all made to distract you from the fact that the interior materials and finishes are not the same as in 1980-2005 Mercedes. Cheap and tacky tacticts to make the interior look flashy but the quality is not there unless you go for an S-class. In the past even C classes had good leather and good interior quality.

Straight-line currency conversion is not meaningful, given that German car prices include almost 20 percent value-added tax.

I'm with you on the external styling, much prefer the old GLA style
Will you review the Q4 E-tron?
I have to say, I don't like the interior décor, lighting or the interface look at all. But I'm glad for your review.
A different color might help the outside look.

What is the projected range for this model with that battery size?

would you buy that car today? or are there better competitors in the market
Hard to compare driving with Germany as they have much nicer pavement everywhere compared to portholes USA.
It's not that expensive for a luxury brand. It costs between SR+ and LR model 3.
Kyle please review the Rivian R1T !!!! Would love to see your opinion on it! Keep up the great work!

Nope

It is including 20% VAT. If EQA comes here, it would cost less than that. Probably $45,000 or less.
