Dad is a True Teacher. Dad was Taught Right, he is Explaining his Life to you of how he had been taught. Real teachers are tough, put your attitude away for when your crafting you Knowledge to teach the Next generation. Great job Kate.
I could see your frustration today Kate with the speed problems and the power line situation. You did fine. Remember to stay cool and analytical and never hesitate to ask you Dad to repeat something or to say "I don't understand. A good indication I noticed today was when you were with your uncle and your Dad said to" Let Kate drive, she can figure it out" Good indication that Dad has confidence in you! I sure would be proud to have a daughter like you!
This is why farm kids make great employees, as well as supervisors/managers. They are accustomed to being micro-managed by their well-intentioned dads. On the other hand, they understand how it feels to be on the receiving end. "If a job is worth doing, it's worth doing right." My dad used to say, "I'm not givin' ya hell, I'm just tellin' ya!" when he could tell my feelings were hurt. Best dad ever. Miss him.
I have 3 daughters and I was just as tough on them as I see your father is on you. I wanted them to understand everything that I did about our businesses because a Dad only has so many years to teach, and he knows it. The youngest daughter is now 38 and the oldest is 47. Each is strong, knowledgeable, tough, beautiful, and highly successful. They're all great mothers...and just as tough on their kids as I was on them. When I saw your Dad taking that wheel, I saw a Dad concerned for his child...and a very, very expensive machine. The one thing I'd change, if I could go back in time, is that I would have told them how proud I was of them more often back in those days. You're gonna do a great job of running that place some day Kate.
Kate. You are an amazing girl. Everything could be going wrong for you and you're still go lucky level headed and not even stressed or anxious about being on camera. You are truly a strong independent woman!... And a natural farmer girl
Wow! You truly are an amazing young lady. I could see on your face how irritated you were when your dad took the wheel. But I noticed in the last video he is getting stressed. You were right to stay away from those power lines, they are nothing to play around with. I am amazed at how different winter wheat and summer wheat is to grow and harvest. But you don't back down from it. You are a very courageous Young Lady. God bless and have a great Day Tomorrow.

Thanks Kate, glad I watched to the end. I already just ate so seeing your dinner didn't make me hungry. Boy there's alot to learn on those pickup headers.

Never be afraid to try something. It is better to have tried and failed than to never try at all. Go get 'em!
I just love watching you Kate, you seem to put your whole heart into doing your best, and doing it without damaging the equipment. I think sometimes as parents we don't have the confidence in our children that we should, especially if we have given them a solid basic foundation. Hoping that your harvest gets better on the fly side, and you are able to recover more of your wheat. Take care Kate, be safe and just farm on.
Great video Kate, showing the real world stresses of harvesting. So it's not just Irish girls that hit their dads with 'tude sometimes. You dad's mouth was struggling to keep up with his brain. Take zero chances with power lines. Glad to hear your uncle say the line you were close was a ground line. Getting that close to a hot live line would be insanely dangerous. And remember the Mark Twain quote: 'When I was a boy of fourteen, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be twenty-one, I was astonished at how much the old man had learned in seven years.'
That was a baby power line. Think of it more like an extension cord! Still, one does not want to pull them down with the cab! The real injury would be the bill from the power company to put it back up!
Hi Kate! I really liked this video. Lots of information for you to absorb this time..Dad was really watching you. That can be hard sometimes. When i had to learn to run the dragline,my father was always a bit stressed then and so was I as he was watching me!! It went always a lot better if he stepped off. Your body language is very telling. With your dad in the cab you're slumped over. But Darcy lights you up. I can't imagine trying to run that combine. I like that your dad said for you to drive it to get used to it. I can't imagine how difficult it must be. You'll get it. I've NO DOUBT, Kate. 25 excellent minutes. I've really learned so much. Thank you!
you were not a happy camper when dad took the wheel, but someday you will be doing the same when you are teaching your son or daughter, or someone and you'll be glad you listen, love you Kate and your family your vids are the best, all my best to the crew
Probably missing your old combine in this one .. new equipment may be more efficient but all the electronics and precious adjustments you always gotta make kinda take the enjoyment of the simplicity of just working the equipment in the field. Hope you are having a great day (: thank you for the content !
Sometimes your better off to be left alone and learn it on your own, I know I do and when I am teaching someone you leave them alone, mistakes are the best way to learn.
I think her dad is trying to prevent Kate from making a very expensive mistake. If you drag the header in the ground and brake it that is a lot of money and down time.

Those moisture testers are a farmer's best friend! My grandfather could tell the moisture back in the 1960's and ealier by rubbing the wheat between his fingers to know if we could harvest it. He tried teaching me, but I never could judge as well as he could. haha Love seeing your Dad and grandpa pass their knowledge down to you. You're the perfect student too Kate! Willing to learn, hard working, and all with a smile ...even though this ''yeah yeah I know Dad yawn at 9:47 '' hahaha God bless and take care!
Well young Kate, your Dad & Uncle are great teachers, lots of experience, know wounder your learning so fast, loved the video, I saw those strange fly's that damage the stems of the wheat, I never have seen these type before, you know no matter how old you are there is so much still to learn, you know how much you earn, the only thing you leave this Earth with is Knowledge , so you have wonderful teachers Kate, You know Kate by time your 21 years old you will a Farm Wizard. OH Kate I heard the song Big City written & sung by the Late Merle Haggard, and also song by a young man, Alex Miller, every time I see you & the Welkers on you tube I think of that song Big CITY with that song I will see you in the Video some where in the Middle of Montana, Cheers & Best Wishes to you & Dad,regards Trevor.W.Biloela Qld Australia.
You and your dad are so much like my daughter and I. I chuckle at the expressions on your face as your dad is talking and can see my daughter's face, so funny. At times both get very frustrated, but, in the end, work great as a team...great vid, as usual
Any meal you don't have to cook is a good meal. Not having to clean up is even better. You're operating a machine that costs more than a lot of houses - bigger than some too - amazing skill. Thanks for sharing your videos.
your dad is a nice guy, I would have gotten yelled at and did when I was learning to drive everything. ask how he likes that combine compared to using an old pull type. you have neat videos and great scenery
This show reminds me , of teaching my daughter to drive when she was 17 and after the directions and while parking she ran into the garage door . lol , End of lessons ! That was 25 yrs. ago ....we still laugh about it .. Good show
Kate, There's a lot of technical skills involved in operating your combine efficiently. Your so calm about it all.Nicely done! Yeah, Dad's input i'm sure helps a bunch too. Great video. Stay safe & more please !
Merci Kate, je vois que c'est vraiment pas facile, tu as la chance d'avoir autour de toi de très gentille personnes. Ils sont cool. Tu dois te sentir tellement protégé avec eux. Courage Kate tu es formidable
People don't understand how complicated that equipment is and how much it matters to get 1-2 % more yield per acre. by 2025 I bet the tractors and combines are even more sophisticated .
Thank you for your terrific comment and information. I agree it is complicated and we really try to get the most yield possible. We are again in a dire drought situation and we pray for moisture!
It's really nice to see that you respect your dad enough to listen and learn from him. Even tho I know sometimes it's hard some times you can tell he cares so much that he takes the time to teach you and tell you things to make the job easier. I hope you are absorbing all the info you can from him. One day he will be gone and you will wish he was there to give you advice. My dad passed away when I was 9 and even to this day i miss him and wish he was here to give me advice
Thank you so much for your wonderful comment! I really appreciate it and I am very grateful to spend time with my father!!! We are all very tired from all the long days of harvest too.
Than you for your great question. We have a hired cook who makes our meals in our cook house and delivers our meals to the field. We are very grateful for that.
Kate, Ive learned more about operating a combine harvester in this video than I ever did growing up. Listen to your Dad he's the best boss you shall ever have. Very best of wishes to you all. Matt
Your Dad must be so proud of you!! This video has so much information, thanks so much for all your hard work and making all of these wonderful videos . Great job with the powerline Kate.
Too funny!! At the five-minute mark when your dad took over if looks could kill. It sure was easy to see you were angry that your dad took over. By the seven-minute mark, I was laughing. The way you edited the video, it makes your dad look like he was going on and on and on rambling. Too funny. (Nice to see you have a temper dear. Proves you are human after all.)
@@danhalverson3618 I don't think it was as much that as she just wanted to try it for herself first and if she was close to making a mistake, THEN slide over and let dad do it.
Straight cutting can be a very complex operation. Your dad did a great job of explaining how to do it successfully. I know you will master it in a short time!
Hello from Germany! Hello Kate, Such a wide header is a house number. The one I drove back then was a lot narrower and therefore a bit easier to drive. The combine itself was completely different. It didn't have as much electronics as your John Deere. I have to see it myself to get an idea of it. The working width is definitely difficult to monitor. The best thing about the harvest is the breaks when there are such good things. I still remember the festivals after the harvest season! That was always the very best. We younger ones went to sleep in the hay sometime at night. After waking up, however, a shower was necessary, we were all totally stung by certain insects. I'm sure you'll have a graduation ceremony like this too. In Germany, the harvest festival is celebrated in the church. Those involved in the harvest celebrate the sickle handle. Enjoy it and stay healthy everyone! I'm looking forward to the next video from you!
Dad treated me the same way when he taught me how to combine. There's a huge learning curve at the beginning, so don't get discouraged. After dad showed me everything he turned me loose so I could learn by making my own mistakes.
Hi Miss Kate 😊 , I think your doing an excellent amazing awesome job out there in the fields , there is a saying I hurd in a famous movie that is so true .. " no such thing as bad student just bad teacher " .. I think your dad is a excellent teacher of his knowledge of farming , we all have learnt something an have been taught the right way n the wrong way that's just how lifes lesson's are , we live n learn , you are a true young future champion there young lady in what ever you decide to do , just by watching you n your family here on youtube n what you choose to share with us folks who watch your family operation shows just how much is involved in running a farm , I worked on several over the yrs n pulled super B's hauling the grain n I can see by your commitment you are going to succeed at what ever is thrown in front of you , keep up the great videos n editing of your farm life , wishing you an your family great success with this years marginal returns on the crops 🙏 .... AWESOME MISS KATE 👍👌😊😎
I just stumbled on your channel kate. Finally a real self respecting farm girl. That is actually doing this for Agricultural purposes not wearing daisy dukes for likes. Your father is a very humble man and the patients you have with him while he teaches you tricks on the combine. You'll master it little mama. Was watching millennial farmer Zach Johnson and your video was recommended. I'm glad I clicked it. Now I'm subscribed and liking vids. Much love and utmost respect to you and your father.
By the way, what s that plastic foil wrapped bottle to the lower left side of the screen, where you might step out? Survival- in- the- wild-nutrition-liquid?
Don't forget that Experience cost lots of money, your dad has plenty of that experience. A fresh look at Agriculture. Keep up the awesome videos and work you do with your family.
You looked little miffed you got kicked out of the driver seat however when I was watching you two after that point your eyes are pretty much synced looking exactly at the points at the same time. I like how you two get along. You all are exciting to watch. Question: I hear you all talk about coolies ? Is this a low spot ?
Thank you for your fantastic comment and wonderful kindness!!! I am very grateful for Uncle Chris!!! Yes coulees are like a ravine or low spot where the water drains. We really don't get much water though.
@@KatesAg oh sorry I thought the gruff cowboy with the moustache was your dad. My bad. And the internet bots read my question and put in my next recommendation well it selected one of your videos where you explained and showed them.
Kate, I love watching you interact with your dad. I can tell how much he loves you and wants to teach you and you are a very good and patient person. I remember these times with my dad, I never though he was teaching me, I just thought he was yelling at me. It's funny now that my dad is gone I know how much he tought me. Love the videos and keep up the great work.
Lol dealing with our dad's when learning how to farm... these expensive combines should pretty much run themselves... don't fret too much over everything your dad's saying... when I was your age I ran old iron... old AC Model 60 pull type combine... if I wanted to adjust the header I had to stop by placing in the hand clutch and hold the brakes, while turn around in the tractor seat and physically lift the header by hand off a lever lol... Wheat was nothing, try combining beans on clay dirt, rocks and hills... wish it was as simple as pushing buttons and switches lol... my main objective don't run rocks through the combine, keep the cutter bar out of the dirt... mostly all I needed to know. Granted these machines didnt move nearly as much volume but they cleaned as good or better than todays machines, and everybody spraying a million chemicals.
Kate, I've been watching your tik tok videos for the last month. I absolutely love your enthusiasm. I did see that there are 2 tik tok sites. Are they both yours or is one fake? Thanks again and keep up the hard work.
You did a really good job keep listening to your dad he's full of knowledge he might be tough now but I'll come back in the end when you sit down on your combine and you look at the field that you just did you'll be able to say yes I did it with my dad he taught me right and I can teach the next generation the right way.
Sorry to hear that the sawfly got to the spring wheat! I am glad you missed the power line! Looks like you have some combine issues to tune up. I will re-watch in the morning to see if I can understand better.
Kate, was this as informative for you as it was for me? Super cool to do this job together with your dad and uncle. You’re doing great. So cool, you can drive this combine, with this big header on your own. Your dad does trust you. That on its own is an accomplishment, getting the trust of your dad. Driving a combine. Thank you for your kind words!!!! I am really tired too.
I feel like I learned a lot about operating a combine with a wide draper head. Your dad and Chris are really knowledgeable guys and good teachers.
Thank you!! I totally agree they are very knowledgeable!!!!!!
you were not a happy camper when dad took the wheel, but someday you will be doing the same when you are teaching your son or daughter, or someone and you'll be glad you listen, love you Kate and your family your vids are the best, all my best to the crew
LOL1 Yes and I am also really tired. Thank you for your wonderful and kind words!
Probably missing your old combine in this one .. new equipment may be more efficient but all the electronics and precious adjustments you always gotta make kinda take the enjoyment of the simplicity of just working the equipment in the field.
Hope you are having a great day (: thank you for the content !
Thank you!! Yes there is a learning curve with this new one for sure. I am grateful to learn to drive it.
Just relax and soak in the knowledge your dad shares with you
Yes I totally agree! Thank you so much!!!!!
Sometimes your better off to be left alone and learn it on your own, I know I do and when I am teaching someone you leave them alone, mistakes are the best way to learn.
Thank you for your kind words!!!! I agree!!!!
I think her dad is trying to prevent Kate from making a very expensive mistake. If you drag the header in the ground and brake it that is a lot of money and down time.
Kate,I have no words to praise your father. He's sach a gentleman. They have a lot of experience. Thanks for entertain Have a sweet dreams..?🤗
Thank you for your kind words!!!! I agree!!
Kate your doing really good, I would be a nervous wreck in a few minutes in that combine, made me nervous just watching you ❤️👍
Thank you for your wonderful and kind words!!!
@@KatesAg that look you have after you switch sides LoL seriously nothing like live learning huh ? Lol thank you for all your videos
Hi Kate! I was trying to put a comment on this vlog but couldn't. Why?
@@saifaldeen9095 some rules have been changed by UA-cam again and you have to actually subscribe to the channel before UA-cam will actually let us make a comment on the top of the comment section , it's not the UA-camr who does that , I've been having an issue since 5 am this morning but according to UA-cam it's because I wasn't subscribed to the channels and they are in the process of changing the setup , hope this helps because it's not on every channel yet but it's coming

Thank you for your great story and kind words!! LOL
Hello from Montana! Thank you for your great story and kind words! I really appreciate them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good job, Kate. Love to see and hear your interaction with Dad. Brings back memories from long ago when I was in your place.
Thank you for your kind words and great encouragement!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You and your dad are so much like my daughter and I. I chuckle at the expressions on your face as your dad is talking and can see my daughter's face, so funny. At times both get very frustrated, but, in the end, work great as a team...great vid, as usual
LOL! Thank you for your great comment and kind words!!!
Any meal you don't have to cook is a good meal. Not having to clean up is even better. You're operating a machine that costs more than a lot of houses - bigger than some too - amazing skill.
Thanks for sharing your videos.
Yes I totally agree and I am very grateful for our wonderful meals!!! Thank you for your great and kind words!!!
poor girl, she looks so annoyed. lol, but he is a Wealth of Life Experiences and knowledge. it may suck now, but in time, it will help you.
LOL! Thank you for your comment! I am pretty tired. We have had almost two months of straight combining!!! LOL
Awesome video Kate thanks for your time and consideration top job God bless you and your family stay safe love from England 🇬🇧🚜🇬🇧🚜🇬🇧🚜
Hello from Montana! Thank you so much for your kindness!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
your dad is a nice guy, I would have gotten yelled at and did when I was learning to drive everything. ask how he likes that combine compared to using an old pull type. you have neat videos and great scenery
Thank you for your great story and amazing kindness!!!! I will ask my Dad.
So Kate...that's you in 20 years teaching your daughter or son to drive combine...love your videos...taught me so much about wheat farming.
Thank you so much for your kind words and great encouragement!
Kate your doing really good, I would be a nervous wreck in a few minutes in that combine, made me nervous just watching you
LOL! Thank you for your great and kind words!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can't go wrong with dad close by as a safety net. Great guy, your dad, with a ton of skill and patience. Great video, I learned a ton!! Kurt
Thank you for your wonderful and kind words!
👍🥰♥️. Приятно аппетита! ) На открытом воздухе даже обычная повседневная еда кажется особенно вкусной.
Спасибо! Я абсолютно согласен!!
Я вообще не понял, что там за еда.
This show reminds me , of teaching my daughter to drive when she was 17 and after the directions and while parking she ran into the garage door . lol , End of lessons ! That was 25 yrs. ago ....we still laugh about it .. Good show
LOL! Oh my that is hilarious!!!!! Thank you for your great and kind comment!!!!!
Nice Video. Danke Kate.
Thank you for your kind words!!
Kate, There's a lot of technical skills involved in operating your combine efficiently. Your so calm about it all.Nicely done! Yeah, Dad's input i'm sure helps a bunch too. Great video. Stay safe & more please !
I'll bet her heart rate is pretty elevated!
Thank you for your kindness!!!!! Yes, Dad's input really helps a lot!!!
Kate looked like she didn’t like you taking the drivers seat
LOL! Thank you for your comment.
Woww .i love your father.. He so cheerful. And happy go lucky..never stop talking..he knows alot
Thank you for your wonderful kindness!
Your doing really good champ!!! Ya dad has got a lifetime of knowledge coming at you in one UA-cam vid 😂 ya always learning 👍🌾🇦🇺
Thank you for your kind words!!!!
Who prepares/delivers your meals to the crew out in the fields? Love how you all sit and have your meal together.
Than you for your great question. We have a hired cook who makes our meals in our cook house and delivers our meals to the field. We are very grateful for that.
@@KatesAg Oh so cool! I would definitely look forward to lunch and dinner during harvest season 😁
Kate, Ive learned more about operating a combine harvester in this video than I ever did growing up. Listen to your Dad he's the best boss you shall ever have. Very best of wishes to you all. Matt
Thank you for your great story and kind words!!!! You made my day!!
Vare good kate
Thank you for your kind words!
Your Dad must be so proud of you!! This video has so much information, thanks so much for all your hard work and making all of these wonderful videos . Great job with the powerline Kate.
Thank you for your kind words!!!!
LOL!! Thank you for your kindness! I was very tired!!!
@@KatesAg Good excuse. I will believe you this time. LOL
Her Dad knows what he is talking about. It is obvious to me the young thinks all s she has to do is drive to the combine. A little bit of an attitude.
@@danhalverson3618 I don't think it was as much that as she just wanted to try it for herself first and if she was close to making a mistake, THEN slide over and let dad do it.
It's very exciting... it's quite satisfying to see wheat harvesting activities in a field that is as wide as the eye can see. Kate's spirit
Thank you for your wonderful kindness!!!
like going on adventures with Kate 😍💙
LOL! Yes this is an adventure!!! Thank you for your kind words!!!
Straight cutting can be a very complex operation. Your dad did a great job of explaining how to do it successfully. I know you will master it in a short time!
Thank you for your kind words!
Hello from Germany!
Hello Kate,
Such a wide header is a house number.
Hello from Montana! LOL! Thank you for your great story and kind words!!!
thanks for another great video!!!! your dad and uncle chris are wonderful mentors for you, you are a master at running the combine!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you for your kind words!!!!
Dad treated me the same way when he taught me how to combine. There's a huge learning curve at the beginning, so don't get discouraged. After dad showed me everything he turned me loose so I could learn by making my own mistakes.
Thank you for your great story and kind words!!
Thank you so much for your kindness and great encouragement!!!!!
awesome!
Thank you so much!
Thank you for your wonderful kindness and great encouragement!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
By the way, what s that plastic foil wrapped bottle to the lower left side of the screen, where you might step out? Survival- in- the- wild-nutrition-liquid?
LOL! I have a silver colored water bottle.
Don't forget that Experience cost lots of money, your dad has plenty of that experience. A fresh look at Agriculture. Keep up the awesome videos and work you do with your family.
Thank you for your kind words!!!!
Thank you for your wonderful story, kind words and great encouragement! I really appreciate them!
Thank you for your great story and advice and kind words!!!!
You are one amazing woman who is going to go places in the world of tomorrow
Thank you for your kind words!!!!
I though for a minute you were being a bit pouty after your dad took over for a while. but I guess I was wrong.
LOL! I'm just tired!!! Thank you for your comment.
Thanks Kate for nother great video about your harvest videos it is very interesting videos keep up the great work you do on your family's farm
Thank you for your great encouragement and kind words!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kate, I've been watching your tik tok videos for the last month. I absolutely love your enthusiasm. I did see that there are 2 tik tok sites. Are they both yours or is one fake? Thanks again and keep up the hard work.
One is fake. I think I know which one is real but I am sure Kate will set us straight.
Thank you! My Tik Tok is Kates_AG the other one is a fake.
@@KatesAg Thank-You!!
You did a really good job keep listening to your dad he's full of knowledge he might be tough now but I'll come back in the end when you sit down on your combine and you look at the field that you just did you'll be able to say yes I did it with my dad he taught me right and I can teach the next generation the right way.
Thank you for your kind words!
One day you be showing others to drive equipment
Thank you for your great encouragement!!
Combines have sure changed, but that was a long time ago for me. You are doing great Kate! Experience comes with time and mistakes. You got this Kate!
Thank you for your nice words!
Sorry to hear that the sawfly got to the spring wheat! I am glad you missed the power line! Looks like you have some combine issues to tune up. I will re-watch in the morning to see if I can understand better.
Hi Mr. Soper! Thank you for your wonderful comment!!!
Wish I could do that. For sure on my bucket list.☺️💋👍🏻
Thank you for your kind words and great encouragement!!!

Thank you!!!!
Last combine standing! 😉
Thanks a lot for the video! 😊👍🏻
