Yea I got this two years ago and two days ago removed it. Was really burdenous, the only way it can work is if u add that power surge the way he did and even then it's inconvenient
I work installing furniture and those alien tail cord concealers are the most unnecessary thing they have us add-on to a desk. Most people will have a power strip near that grommet hole because not all cords can reach the wall outlet
I might be wrong in this, and maybe that Stanley thing has some special properties. But I've been taught that you shouldn't use those outlets adaptors, since now it's as if you're connecting various things in a single outlet, and that can overcharge it and then overheated it, leading to it melting and breaking. On this case it's probably fine, since it's just a PC, and won't go past the outlets power limit, but idk. Still, pretty good looking, except for the huge wither skeleton's spine at the end
Dude, you needed a white snake protector one so that it is less noticeable. Visually it looks cleaner but draws way more attention because of the contrast of black and white.
the thing about the snake is that it's recommended that you put it behind the desk leg so that it's practically unnoticeable. When you put it smack in the middle, it pretty much defeats the purpose. You're better off buying some adhesive wall cable covers/concealers that are the same color as your wall, running the cable covers all the way to the desk leg, and then running the rest of the cable into the snake that's behind the desk leg. That way you can actually achieve the invisible cable look while still making use of the snake.
I agree with the surge protector hack, the other snake thing for 1 cable is a dumb hack. Its way more prone to hurt you and pinch you than a single cable.
Stick that spine thing straight up the wall, then add some sort of flexible material that wants to straighten out, inside it. So it goes straight up and curves down. Then add some ribcages and a head with long hair
Just use Betaduct cable trunking along the underside and legs. It won’t look messy and complex like this snake does, nor will it get in the way of the chair or your feet.
This is actually cool. Not that I'm moving my desk up or down all day long (If I slightly change the height for the chair for some reason and after an hour I sit in, it feels like going through a portal) , but I agree that it looks very clean
Now try having a PC on the floor and various devices plugged into it where u have different length cables and different destinations on the desk. For me: speakers, monitor, headphones (coming out of USB DAC), nintendo switch, keyboard, controller charging dock & mouse
Yeah it’s weird using both in that way. If you left the surge protector on the ground and put all the cables from there in the weird spine thing, or just left it out with the protector on the desk it’d be fine, but weird choice the way you went
Please explain how this actually hides where all those cords are plugged into? Are they sticking out of the bottom of this thing into electrical strips?
Out of curiosity, why did you have this bend towards you? Isn't it possible to bend to the side to reduce the chance of you kicking it? Maybe install it to the sides more to avoid your feet from contacting it altogether? Not what's required for the installation or maybe the position is limited to where the wall socket is?
I am impressed how badly you connected the desk to the power. Isn’t the cable chain really annoying because it’s right where your feet are? I will try and give you some tips to make it work better and look even better. The nicest solution would be to buy a aluminium profile (cable channel, not sure how they are called). Put the cable inside, glue it to the wall, and make it go to the lowest height of the table. An then use a clean white cable.
Have one (snake) on my standing desk, really like it. That long power strip is smart, I have 2x normal strips, one on each side, might need to swap that out :)
FYI everyone, those longboi power strips are available at Harbor Freight for half the price (though they aren’t surge protectors). And they’re fantastic for spreading the power cables around instead of all being concentrated in the same spot, as well as actually getting to use all the outlets because they aren’t blocked by wall warts.
honestly comment, your undertable cabling still so messy. I would use extra technical plastic box and put the power sockets inside + all cables inside. Then the undertable will be super clean and tidy.
If you have Audio cracking or squeeking, don't put the audio cables in between those cords unless you have mostly Toslink /SPDIF. There will be interferences.
Isn’t the cable management snake meant for multiple cables…? Also, are there any flexible surge protectors? Because that would be perfect to be in the snake
That would be a terrible idea. You'd be stressing your plugs and cables. Plus, the whole idea is to hide cables, not surge protectors. Either way this is a terrible product idea.
Pro-Tip: If your gonna have some plastic monstrosity under you desk like this you might as well just 3D print it (or get a friend to). Probably could've shrunk the dimensions down a whole lot and probably couldve saved some $$ to while not looking quite as stupid. I'm pretty sure theres a rule where every 3D Printer File website has to have at least +279 different versions of Cable Management just like the 1 in the video!

Now your desk need corset😂😂
UA-cam removed shorts links
And now my desk has a weird ass spine
LMFAOO
I’d be kicking that thing every second lol
Why it reminds me of the borg 😂😂
It’s got a better spine that me that’s for sure
What happens when you break it
I used to have an ugly 4mm cable under my desk, but now I have a 10cm spinal cord!
Thank you !
lol i cant best comment
...and now I can spend the rest of my life kicking it's shiny plastic vertebrae every time I move a leg.
lmao
Right? Mf had it when he put that work bench outlet under there. But he HAD to use that stupid Chinese crap
Exactly my thoughts. A wire would have been way less conspicuous. And going with a white one at that.
Why would you use the snake, if there is only one cable left? It’s much bigger. What a overkill
it looks more interesting tho.
aesthetic touch is aesthetic
One cable left, just get a white one or paint it white, it would look much better and not stand out.

My man needed cable management so he bought a friggin sandevistan
I was looking for this😂
Honestly, the one cord would have looked better than that box
100%

Now the desk has a backbone
Bro gave his desk a spinal cord!
Now my desk has an M134 ammo belt, nice!
Run the power cord behind one of the legs. It’s prob gotta be longer but now there’s no cable hanging visually
And now you bump against that snake thing
Bravo
may I correct you "that ugly a** thing"*
Put them sideways
That cable holder reallly adds to it. Clean.
now its noticeably bigger than the tiny cable cable before 😂
In my opinion it looks cleaner without that cable thing that you put on there at the end
bro is indeed hiding that one cord 💀
I work installing furniture and those alien tail cord concealers are the most unnecessary thing they have us add-on to a desk.
Most people will have a power strip near that grommet hole because not all cords can reach the wall outlet
That would be why he screwed the surge protector to the desk first
He literally screwed the power strip to the bottom of the desk
I don't think my desk needs a Sandevistan, thanks.
XD
crazy that no one got the reference lol
lmao xd
My school used these in a CS lab... and the cable organizer ripped out the floor when raising the desk :)
LMAO
Organization hacks : install a whole sandevistan to your only cable left
Move socket to the right side of the desk, move it a little higher up and leave just enough slack so it can reach the highest setting.
Need that snake to organise my insides.
🙊
Dr. Octopus would be so proud
For some reason your setup has a spine now 😂
I'm so gonna hit the snake with my feet. That's gonna suck!
De. Oct called, he wants his spine back.

How you create this type of videos. Can you please share the details?
kinda cool, now i want this too even though rationally it would be overkill
Just use one of those springy keychain things and attach it to the cable, it will pull it up but also give some slack when needed
Painting the single cable white would have been much more effective dude
I agree with the surge protector hack, the other snake thing for 1 cable is a dumb hack. Its way more prone to hurt you and pinch you than a single cable.
Idk what’s up with the comments. But this totally looks a lot better now. Looks like one of Doctor Octavius’s robotic tentacles.

that looks like a serious richman setup, id be lucky with an office chair and a 4 by 4 as my desk
You have one cord going from the outlet to the power bar. Pretty sure it would have been less noticeable than that giant cube snake thing.
