Awesome 👏🏼 I’m about to do my mount next week. I think your the first person I seen that didn’t jack the motor up to the moon. I was hoping there was a better way of doing it. Thanks for showing a better way.
I recently changed my motor mount on my Road King. I didn’t know that there was a “new style” and “old style” but the one I received looked different. After further investigation I discovered that the one on my bike was the “new style” so it had been changed before. I also discovered that it was mounted upside down, which you mentioned the potential of happening. I guess this was a common mistake when the new style came out. I noticed that you mentioned this. Great video and informative content. Thanks for sharing!
I’m going to put a new motor mount in. Should say different motor mount, I put a very ridged mount in last week and the vibration is actually worse through 2 nd gear. This method of not jacking up the engine is great and I truly appreciate this technique and information. But I may have moved the motor out of line or possibly went to far jacking it up last time. I’m hoping the correct mount solves my problem. Can you do a video on fuel tuners ? Or maybe talk about them ? Thank you.
What external breather catch can setup is this ? I’ve done a ton of research on this and I’ve never seen those fittings I’ve seen the cans themselves but those fittings that the cans are attached to are unique
Great question. This is a complete kit that comes with the air cone, intake mount, catch cans and such. I can’t send a pic in the comments but you can email me at butlercustomsmotorcycleshop@gmail.com and I can send you a link or you can google TWIN CAM ROCKER SOFTAIL US CHROME SPIKE AIR CLEANER INTAKE FILTER and it should pull them up. Thanks for watching!
@@butlercustoms I lucked out . The bike has hydraulic tensioners. But like you said I can see blow by on the exhaust and surrounding surfaces of the heads.
@@butlercustoms What I can’t figure out is I have an 05 road king classic. By all standards it should be a five speed transmission with a 96 twin cam. But it has a 103 with a six speed transmission. I’m the third owner of it. Last guy knew nothing about it and really never rode it.
@butlercustoms could i possibly get the part number off of the replacement mount? I've been seeing a lot of back and forth on preference, but the proof is in the pudding that this particular mount works, based on your video.
@@butlercustoms Thank Ya Sir , wish i was closer, so You could look at my 91 flhs , hard to shift , sloppy gear linkage , Thanks !! enjoy Ya videos Sir .East Texas
About only thing I would've done differently was cover that front fender with a towel or something just be safe around a painted surface. Other than that, good video.

@@chrismillersrcfamily my pleasure. I’ve seen tanks destroyed by jacking the motor up.
Do you use the OEM mount or aftermarket..........? Great video"
Great question. I believe this one was a Drag Specialties one.

Just did my front mount . Not too bad but my windscreen rattles terribly.

I hope the new mount helps with the bad vibration. I’ll certainly do a video on tuners the next time I install or tweak one! Great suggestion.

Thank you ! I need gaskets tic noise is driving me crazy
Make sure it’s not your cam chain tensioners first! Hope it’s just the gaskets.

@mcheesemanmc awesome! I think in 2007 they switched over to the hydraulic tensioners which are much more durable.

Wow. That’s some nice upgrades. I’ve heard of some 2006 Police bikes having that set up
Thanks for the video.
It'd be great to compare visually the vibrations before and after
I thought I did. But let me check.
The before and after is at 28:39.
