Zongzi are best eaten hot, so you should have heat it up first, preferably by steaming.
Great video again, thanks for posting.

I think u need to boil the zong zi first before u eat it? Unless your friend has boiled it already before giving it to you.

I normally steam those I bought from the market before eating them. Put in the freezer up to one week.

It's a pity that you didn't go to see the dragon boat race, which is the most important event of the Dragon Boat Festival. You can come to Guangdong Province to watch it next time.

You and Alex should definitely plan a summer trip to the northern part of China, like province Heilongjiang , Jilin, Changbai Mountain, or City Dan dong or Ben Xi to stay away the heat.

The jerkiness you felt in your taxi ride is likely due to the regenerative braking of the fully electric cars (supposedly most if not all the taxis in China are fully electric). One common complaint against fully electric vehicles is the regenerative braking, as soon as you lift the acceleration pedal, the braking kicks in and recharges the battery. I’ve heard that some cars are worst than the others. Maybe you can ask the driver to make adjustment to less regenerative braking (some cars are adjustable and some are not).

I think you have to steam/microwave them again with the leaves on before you eat them.

I get car sick in taxis too… or any other cars honestly… occasionally on buses as well 🥲 funny cuz ⛴️ ferries never do that to me
