I sure do love this steel guitar concert! Always loved their playing. A Way to Survive is listening to great steel players showing their talents in such complicated yet what looks to be second nature to them! I fell in love with the steel guitar 64 years ago when I met my husband. He played for many years of our 52 years of marriage. We went to several steel guitar conventions where these stars played. Especially Scotty's ISGC in St. Louis!

I am happy that I have this project. Two of the very best ever steel players. Emmons was always my personal favorite. I was blessed to see both men several times at steel shows and never was disappointed.

@@imacomputerbuddie Not a fan of buddy played too much jazz and blues.I couldn’t listen to his recordings too much swell pedal.Much the same as Jerry Byrd couldn’t stand his style. A lot of good steel players about but Buddy and Jerry I dislike the most.Probably because I am playing steel myself for over forty years and I think so many better players and don’t get mention. The best lap steel player that I have ever heard is Rudi Wairata and he had a masters degree in music. So many good players about I have never played blues or jazz on steel ….. tuneless to me not worth the effort.

What no one has acknowledged yet is how buddy threw his hands up in surrender after Hal played his world famous Cascade lick. You had better pull the licks out of the bag and execute with precision if your going to play side by side with BIG E

As you say the subtle things Buddy did is difficult to copy, to make the moves flow like he did is a hard task , if not impossible.
Even though Hal is a great player You can see him working hard all the time, but Buddy just flows in a relaxed manner. What a legendary tasteful musician he was.
