Hey man. I have a 2009 Infiniti QX56 same engine as yours and your video "helped me a lot" I really mean it because you explained everything very well and also you save me $1,000.oo (mechanic labor) so am very thankful and I give you 5 stars. Excellent video . Thanks so much, my friend!!!
My pump just started making some noise. And I was wondering how difficult it was gonna be to change it out. It didn’t seem difficult just looking at it. Your vid just confirmed it and gave me the confidence to go ahead and get after it. Thanks.
Thank you very much for this video, it was so useful for me to remove the power steering pump on my vehicle Nissan Armada 2009 and repair it also I've replaced the high pressure line and retuline as well then i have flushed the full system and put new Power steering fluid in to it. Thanks again 👍🏼
Hey just wanted to let you know I appreciate the video to give me some insight on what I am looking at. Great job on the video and making it where anyone could do it on their own with the tools.
Great video, thank you very much for the information... I just bought a use Nissan truck ,and the power steering pump needs replaced.. this really help me, your my hero of the week!!!✌️👍
How you doing brother, great video! I’m curious to see if the Cardone pump is still running strong 3 years later…. HITACHI is about $250 after tax and Cardone only $100 maybe Cardone is worth it.
@@AaronHinesAuto how do you know if the power steering pump or the rack and pinion is bad? I’m working on a 2008 Nissan Armada and it has lost the power assist and the pump is making some funny noises. I have replaced the pressure hose today because I believe that where my leak was coming from.
I had a power steering pump noise. Thought it was cavitating. Changed the pump with a good looking pump from the junk yard. Then again worth a brand new pump from Autozone. Then changes the rack. After a bunch of work it turned out to be the altinator. Sounds pretty stupid but it was very frustrating and emberassing on top of that. Just putting this on here for others to contemplate. Hate for any on else to go through this.
Tips: The return line (from the cooler) is the smaller diameter hose. The supply hose is larger. Also, I didn't find it necessary to take the fender well off on my NV 3500 w/ 5.6l, I just used a 15/16" ratcheting wrench. From experience, taking the fender well off and putting it back on is a PITA. Also, I don't know how he was able to get the pump pumping oil through the system with the vehicle off. Power steering pump works by being driven from the serpentine belt, right? I had to start up my engine.
Hi my local Autozone told me I could use normal power steering fluid in my Titan. My main pressure line is leaking some and haven't replaced it yet. Since taking out old fluid out with just a turkey baster I added normal power steering fluid. It seemed to work fine but now my power steering pump is making some noise, is it to late to replace fluid and save pump?
Aaron, you said you would leave a link to the plug kit you had for plugging the power steering reservoir.... I don't see the link, can you please share that?
Great work bro Question is that really at Titan at the end there where your showing the work done turning the tires Because those lights sure don’t look like a Titan
Question, you capped off the reservoir for the power steering fluid, you were filling the fluid, how did the fluid leave the reservoir into the dirty fluid tank????? How does that work?
Hey great video thanks!! only question I have is my pump came with the high pressure line washers and some other rubber o rings. You don't go over the o-ring placement? Any help would be appreciated! thank you
Thank you! I believe those o rings are for the pressure sensor and the high pressure line connector at the rack. I don’t really replace those unless they are leaking
So after all that work it wasn't the power steering pump after all... It was the oil cooler gasket... I could have saved $200+ but at least it's done. now on to front diff. issues. Thanks again cheers
Aaron, thank you so much for sharing this excellent video and you are the man when it come to the excellent instructions provided in your videos! God bless you and stay safe! Sayenada!
I have an 05 Titan and I think my pulley is going bad on my power steering. I have no leaks and no signs of power steering failure. Would you recommend replacing the whole thing or just the pulley? Thanks in advance.
I replaced mine same way as soon as I turn the truck off with the cap off it starts to gush out bad all over. Made sure it was all good again put the cap on. Driving for 15 minutes now and still sounds bad and steering is about the same. Comes and goes😪
I did the same process and a 2005 frontier and my steering is now hard. There is no air in the system at all. No leaks. I applied a vacuum to make sure no air is in the system, also fluid is the correct level. What could be causing this problem? The previous steering pump was leaking which is why i replaced it but the steering only got hard when fluid got low
Fyi y'all, I am doing this step by step as we speak, nothing pops off this easy. 😂😂😂 Great video though! Appreciate you for taking the time!
I just finished putting a starter on my 06 Nissan Titan. I followed your instructions step by step and got the done. Thanks for the video.

Thanks man, you just saved me $700.
Man you are good at what you do! thank you keep up the good work I have a 2006 nissan titan and I have learned so much from you. thank you again
Thank you. It helped me get mine done. I used a trigger sprayer from a spray bottle to get what I could out.
Great video. Thank you for all of the Titan videos you have done. I will be doing my power steering pump this weekend.

Thanks got it! 💪🏽I was missing the banger bolt removal

Did it sound like a rattling noise? I thought mine was tensioner. Replaced it, still there. Now Im thinking steering or idler pulley.

I did the rack & pinion repair
Do you have a video on how to replace brake calipers on a nissan titan/armada?
Aaron great video! What's the size of the hose on your bleed tool that you put in the return line?

Hoe much time do it take to do this power steering pump
Great work bro

What type of power steering fluid does a Nissan lafesta 2013 ex japan use?
What are the caps that you used for the reservoir? Can I get the link to it?
Thanks for posting !
What kind of caps did you use?
Anything different on the 2017?
Ya screw me doing this myself. I'll pay for it
Thanks for this great video, I followed it almost to the T!!
I'm doing 1 right now on a 2010 Nissan Titan
Why used automatic transmission instead of power steering just curious
My pump, the new one, will not go back into place, any suggestions?
thank you for this video ... can you make a video how to fix B1081 (the circuit for front RH seat belt pre-tensioner in open) on titan 2010 ???
I have a 2019, will I need to take it to the dealership for any recalibration after changing the pump or pulley?
Thanks for the information.
Dumb question but why cap off the reservoir on the bottom again?
Excellent thanks for this 👍🏽👍🏽
Nice video. How long do you estimate this job will take?
Thank you 🙏
Thanks ! Look so simple, if I doing the job will take me 1 day o maybe 2 😅
Awesome video! Couldn't find the link fir the caps though. Can you help a girl out?
Question, you capped off the reservoir for the power steering fluid, you were filling the fluid, how did the fluid leave the reservoir into the dirty fluid tank????? How does that work?
I removed the cap before adding fluid.
@@AaronHinesAuto so how was the fluid going into the pump, through the feed line or return line, I saw you capped off one of the lines

rockauto had a REALLLY good price on the power steering pump

I have an 05 Titan and I think my pulley is going bad on my power steering. I have no leaks and no signs of power steering failure. Would you recommend replacing the whole thing or just the pulley? Thanks in advance.
Better change the pump and make sure the pulley is tight or you can change the whole thing the pump and the pulley since the pulley us cheap
What are the symptoms if there's air in the system?
Foam in the reservoir and probably a whining noise from the pump.
I replaced mine same way as soon as I turn the truck off with the cap off it starts to gush out bad all over.
Made sure it was all good again put the cap on. Driving for 15 minutes now and still sounds bad and steering is about the same. Comes and goes😪

Great video. I made a step by step and tool list on word if you want me to send it you can link it.
It takes 3 hours to remove it & 3 hours to install it
Where are u located ? Can take my Titan to do some work with u ?
I just got done doing my 07 titan and let me just say that it is the biggest pain in the dick if you don’t have any drills, pneumatic or otherwise.

I did this in 30 min beware I over tightened the bolts where the hose connects and it stripped, be careful and don’t tighten it to much 🥲
Thank you for the video
