I haven't removed my carbs yet (93 XJ600 Seca 2) but have been advised to acquire a set of J.I.S screwdrivers for those screws so not to strip the heads. Hopefully should be doing mine this week.
So your mates name is Dave, I guess it's true what they say then... "Everybody knows a Dave" 😉 Good job with the carbs, hopefully they pay you back for all that love and attention with many many miles of enjoyable riding 😀👍
It looks like you would benefit with an ultrasonic bath. I often think about buying one, but I always manage without and then I don’t need one for another 6 months or more.
Holy crap Dave, they were in a bit of a state eh! at least you got those screws undone, they're normally a pain in the arse even if the bike hasn't been stood for a year, crackin job bud, hope the dead spots have gone, RSM8.
I use the centre punch or small chisel and hammer method and buy eBay replacement almost every time. Bolts corrode but it’s not obvious until you try and undo them and they collapse like cheese.....x
@@whoamiuk1 ...my bikes are 20 years old and older and I always buy new bolts on eBay..they are so cheap...and even change the bolt head as I'm not enthusiastic about Philips style heads...to make it easier for myself in the future
