  • This is a partial audio recording of an interview with Leonard Nimoy that appeared on public television around 1976. I don't know the exact source, but at the end of the interview there is a mention of Millersville State College in Pennsylvania.

What's amazing to me is that even then, he remembers details, the names of things, and so forth. He really threw himself into this role, and then continued to do so, to the point of reversing his decision to let Spock be killed off in Wrath of Khan.
He deserves to be an icon.

this was a great interview, to quote Spock..."Fascinating" One thing he doesn't mention here, but is mentioned in later interviews, is that the pranks that were done to him were done by Bill Shatner.

Thank you for this. Honestly i wasn't crazy about the interviewer, i think he went ahead and asked questions he'd prepared even after L. Nimoy's comments & answers to other questions covered those. Example: LN clearly explained the makeup process, but interviewer still asked him about leaving the ears on to "save time". LN just told you they were just attached with spirit gum, like a fake mustache.
Anyway L. Nimoy was great & i'm glad i found this, thanks

That's hilarious! I didn't know that Leonard Nimoy had a sense of humour. His character, Spock, seems so serious.

You should read his autobiography -- "I Am Spock" -- it shows Mr. Nimoy to be thoughtful, intelligent, sensitive, and funny. He was a great man.

I regret that I've not read "I *am* Spock", or even his earlier book "I am *not* Spock".

I've read both of them, and a lot of the earlier book is reproduced in the later one, so if you only have time to read one, read the later one. Used copies can be had for as little as $1.29, plus a lot of public libraries have it, so it's easy to get ahold of a copy. Personally, I found it so engaging that I've read it more than once.
