    Does the T2.9 affect the actual bokeh, or just light transmission? I'd imagine an element in front of an F1.4 lens for example would only reduce light, and not actually change the bokeh itself right?

    • @43Productions
      @43Productions  Рік тому

      Correct my friend. The only adjustable rings on the adapter are the focus and when pressing the red button, the anamorphic angle. I did not notice a difference in light transmission when adding the adapter to any lens. I was set at at T2.9 for these test shots. I hope this helped!

    Thank you so much for the video :)
    How long is the focus through on the adapter?
    Do you know if it’s possible to use it on a zoom lens?
    Does it flair a lot on a spherical lens? I really hope they’ll make an amber or neutral flare version at some point too 🤞🏻

    • @43Productions
      @43Productions  Рік тому +1

      You're welcome, I hope it helped. I have used it much more since this was released and I have found a few different quirks, but it's still a fun add on.
      To answer your Q's -
      Yes, you can use it on a zoom lens. Just make sure you're using manual focus.
      When used with a spherical lens, you do notice blue lens flairs. The best option for getting those true flairs are simply using an anamorphic Sirui lens.

    This could be game changer if paired with some vintage lenses like nikkor. Do you know if it will work with them?

    • @43Productions
      @43Productions  Рік тому

      This will just depend on the thread size of the vintage Nikkor lenses. It comes with 67, 72 and 77mm step down rings and a 92mm step up ring. Hope this helps!

    Hey, so I shoot a 1full frame 6/9 sensor and shoot with Canon & Sigma art lenses. Do you recommend getting either the 35/50 anamorphic? Or the 1.25x adapter? Cheers!

    • @43Productions
      @43Productions  Рік тому +1

      I would choose an actual anamorphic lens over this adapter. The characteristics are great to mock, but only a true anamorphic lens will give you everything you need to achieve the look you want.

    What would the squeeze factor be if this 1.25 adapter is screwed onto the Sirui 1.33 Anamorphic lenses? - there are no videos on UA-cam showing this, but Sirui mentioned that it’s compatible and can be used on the 1.33 lenses. Any thoughts?

    • @Spiritmadevisuals

    Is the end aspect ratio when desqueezed the same if shooting with anamorphic 1.33, 1.60 or 2.0? Also when attaching the adapter to a spherical lens, can I still shoot with autofocus ON? If so, is there any steps I need to do with the adapter?

    • @43Productions
      @43Productions  Рік тому +1

      These will be different depending on what size anamorphic lenses you're using. When shooting with the 1.6X anamorphic, it creates a 2.0X squeeze factor. When shooting with a 1.33X anamorphic, it comes close to 1.6X squeeze factor. The only way to use an autofocus lens is if you put it into manual focus mode. I hope this helps! Cheers

    It appears there is no way to use a matte box with this adapter. It doesn't have any threads on the front of it, does it? Any way I can still use screw on ND, Circular Polarizer or diopters with this?

    • @nahlene1973
      @nahlene1973 Рік тому

      You don't need threads to use mattebox, AFAK it's got 85mm front diameter, which is one of the standard size for clamps.

      @43Productions  Рік тому

      I would be afraid to add a matte box onto this lens/adapter as it could limit my focus control on the adapter itself. That being said, you can use circular ND's and polarizers with it. Im unsure of SD's as I rarely use them.

    Will this add the 1.25x squeeze to zoom lenses or does it only give them the anamorphic flares only? Would love to see what the Tamron 35-150mm would look with it.

    • @43Productions

    Did Sirui pay you to do this review as when I reviewed on my channel without payment I found a lot of issues which you have obviously decided not to talk about?

    • @43Productions
      @43Productions  Рік тому +1

      Yes, indeed Sirui did pay me for my honest review...because I don't work for free. That being said, this review is based on the lenses I used in my discussion. I'm sorry you're having issues with the adapter. These types of adapters are subjective to the lenses they are attached to. The softness that is visible in your review video is of concern though. I'm a cinematographer, not a glass engineer. Happy to help you if you have any specific questions.

    I’m using this 1.25?adapter on a Fuji XH2s in 6K OpenGate 3:2 aspect ratio with the Sirui 24mm anamorphic 1.33. It creates a lot of vertical distortion. Any plugins or recommendations on corrections this in FCP? I’ve tried the fisheye effect and a free plugin by Alex4D, but both affect both vertical and horizontal line (I only need vertical correction. Thanks.

      Wait, you used an Anamorphic adapter on a lens that's already Anamorphic?? The squeeze must be insane 😅. You would need to calculate what the new squeeze value is based on the image being manipulated twice and then desqueeze it. Easiest way is to use ffmpeg honestly. I'll make a video on how to do it. Give me 1-3 days and then search "easiest way to desqueeze anamorphic footage"
