Will this Dethrone the Liberty 3 Pro?! Soundcore Liberty 4 In-Depth Review! The coveted Liberty series earbuds have finally landed and we’re super excited to see how it performs. Previously, there were many controversies when we saw how well the Liberty 3 Pro performed, but nevertheless, today we’re checking out Soundcore’s latest iteration in the Liberty Series of earbuds.
The earbuds today were sent over to me by Soundcore for Review, and although these were sent over to me, there were no money exchanging hands, and this review is based on my honest and unbiased opinion.
The Liberty 4 that we have here today, retails for about 150 US dollars and that is about 685 Malaysia Ringgit. Very decently priced, competing with other flagship earbuds that hovers way past this price range like the Bose QC Earbuds 2, The airpods pro 2 and even Sony’s WF1000XM4. All of those are much more expensive than the Soundcore Liberty 4 and so, in terms of price, they are already ahead.

Wonderful review. Thanks!
Nice review sean , thanks !
Had them for 1yr now and hands down best headphones I've ever heard❤
Hi Sean, what are the options to customize controls of the earbuds in the app? Is it possible to control volume?
Sean, can u reccomend which of the latest earbuds are better than liberty 4 in terms of call quality?
Can u do a comparison between the air 2 pro and liberty 4
does the Liberty 4 also work with the hearing/live listen feature on iPhone and iPad devices?
Excellent! One of your previous reviews helped me decide to go for the Liberty 3 Pro, which is an excellent product! My favorite TWS in ear so far! I also checked your review to buy the Soundpeats Air 3, which is a great open half-in ear design (airpods alternative as you call them).
By the way, being so good at designing their products, I wonder why Soundcore has never entered the game of these open design earbuds... All of their TWS products are in ears with silicon eartips. That would be pretty interesting!
Hey Davi. Thank you. I’m glad I could help. They do have one which is the Life Note 3s which I haven’t had the chance to test out. But I think why they don’t focus on Half in ears is because their mission is to always create great sounding earbuds but that’s quite hard to achieve with Half in ears. But now that you’ve mentioned it, I should give that a try! Haha thanks again Davi
@@SeanTalksTech Thanks for the reply! If you consider that the 2 biggest players in the tech market (Apple and Samsung) both have open designs as well (normal Airpods and Buds Live, respectively), there is a good reason for that!
Some people just don't get used to the silicon tips and others like some variety for specific situations... I myself like very much both types and see them as complimentary. In ears for immersive sound, in situations where you need isolation and ANC (on a bus or plane, for example)...
In other situations, I just want the opposite. A sensation of blending in with the environment, not being totally isolated, being able to hear you surroundings, or even have a more open and comfortable experience.
I really really wish Soundcore enters this market!!
I have tested a lot of TWS open designs and the top I have in my collection are the following:
Huawei Freebuds 4 - very open, refined and clear sound
Galaxy Buds Live - great bass and sub bass for an open design
Soundpeats Air 3 - greatest budget option, as you well know
Sabbat X12 Ultra - different design, very good driver. This one became great sounding with a kind of a mod, which is using one of those foams for traditional earbuds. Improved bass a lot and still fits the case.
I am in the android environment so I haven't tested the Apple Airpods 3, but it is certain to be at the top as well.
Wireless charge? Multipoint (to re confirm)? Volume +/- ? Skip music forwards and backwards?
Got my Liberty 4 today. This has goid call audio quality for virtual meetings. ❤
I received my Liberty 4 yesterday and couldn't wait to dive in and enjoy them.
It's lived up to my expectations except for two areas. I noticed a significant sound shift when I toggled between normal mode and ANC/Transparency mode. Anyone noticed this?
The other area where I am slightly disappointed is in the bass area. The L3P does better here than the Liberty 4.
Everyone that brought the soundcore liberty 4 say the bass not good as liberty 3 pro.
IT HAPPENS I HAVE EARBUDS THAT SOUND BETTER WITH ANC ON AND OTHERS WITH ANC ON JUST KILLS THE SOUND. I HAVE THE LIBERTY 4s NOW BUT AM AFRAID TO OPEN THEM IN CASE THEY SUCK AND IF OPENED I WON'T GET A REFUND BECAUSE IN CANADA BEST BUY YOU CANNOT RETURN OPENED HEADPHONES
I’m loving the spatial audio (head tracking) of Liberty 4! Bought mine yesterday… 😅😅
Oppo enco x2 or liberty 4, which is best in overall audio quality?
hey Sean, which mechanical keyboard is showed on your video ?
Is the liberty 4 also a pro? Because the price point from the liberty pro 3 is a lot less.. I thought it would probably be a little more than the liberty 3pro. That was about $189 when it first came out
Nice detailed video 👏
What do you prefer in long term view, liberty 3 pro or liberty 4?
If you into bass I would say 3s
To be honest. They are really good earbuds with their pros and cons. The Liberty 3 pro is the nicer sounding, and when I swap them one after another, the sound quality is very different. ANC is also better with the Liberty 3 pro. But after owning and using the 3 pro. I realised I can’t used them for too long before my ears get sore due to the size and pressure it creates on my ears. So that’s also something to consider. 😄 you can check out my comparison video to find out more 😄
Soundcore Liberty 4 VS Liberty 3 Pro VS Sony WF1000XM4 VS Apple Airpods Pro!
ua-cam.com/video/tOj3ZFudWGo/v-deo.html
These are nice but I'm afraid to get these and Liberty drop a Liberty 4 Pro model. As much as I like Soundcore and want these for my collection, I suspect I'll wait a few months until the bloom falls off the rose.
😄😄😄 I know what you mean.
The mod in r/Anker replied to me this morning stating that there is currently no indication that a L4P release is imminent. That's not to say they aren't in development, but wouldn't expect to see them released any time soon, if at all.
@@blyman7170 kinda weird bcs they used to always release the "regular" liberty and the Pro
Liberty 4 NC is coming out on june 29.
So, what did you bought? I don't think liberty 4 pro will be coming
What is the better please?!
Liberty 3 pro or Liberty 4 ?!
I'm very confused 😕
3 pro has more bass, liberty 4 has better fit in ear and better mids/vocals
I have the 3s and had to rebuy them recently but since these came out .. I wonder if I should trade them in for these.. hard to tell tbh but I'd like to have that has a possibility
Depends if you care about bass stay with the 3s
I still think the 3s have better sound quality. The Pros in soundcore lineup is still their best flagship product. As I’ve confirmed with Soundcore, these are to successor to the Liberty Air 2 pro. So yeah like Luca pointed out, if sound quality is important, the 3s are still amazing 😄hope that helps
this or life p3?
I wonder if there will be a Liberty 4 Pro...
I have both the 3 Pro and the 4’s. The 3 Pros sound better than the 4. I think ANC is better with the 4. But sound quality is definitely better with the 3 Pro
Hello Thank you your video ? Is it better than the Edifier Neo Bud Pro ?
Se você foi Edifier, terá o melhor microfone e ANC,mas em bateria,Ldac ligado,4h de música.
Impressive offering from Soundcore at this price point. Very competitive! 👌
Full of features and seeing a new ear tip design is really refreshing. 👏
Also squeeze instead of touch controls here, is fantastic I think.
A well thought and detailed review Bro Sean 👏👏😊👍.
Oh yeah! Haha soundcore has always been great! Always fresh to see new products from them!
In your opinion, which of these two hands-free is suitable for conversation and music, Liberty 4 and Liberty 4NC
Microphones in Liberty 4 do a better job than in Liberty 4 NC or in other soundcore earbuds. Especially in loud surroundings.
here in Indonesia, L3Pro cost only $61.5 in online shop
Can you turn off the HRM (heart rate monitor) on the Soundcore Liberty 4? This is a waste of battery and probably way less accurate than my watch. Plus I don't really wanna share ANY of my general HEALTH DATA with some random audio company.
I have looked everywhere in the app to find this feature but no luck. It also drains the phone's battery since the wellness notification remains on top of the notification bar.
What is the difference in sound quality compared to eatfun air s
I would say precision my friend. The Earfun Air S is a very good sounding earbuds, but it’s that, good basic sounding buds that hits all the notes right. The Liberty 3 pro and 4 have that extra edge in precision sound especially if you run them in LDAC codec and that’s where you’ll get details in your music. Really hearing and finding out new things about a familiar song. I guess that’s where the main value proposition is at 😄
@@SeanTalksTech @Sean Talks Tech i got the earfun air s a week ago i can say they worth every penny they produce really nice sound which i had always looking for and your review really helped me thanx
@@SeanTalksTech enable ldac on this tws with souce of Spotify , will it change the sound quality?
I will stick with my soundcore l2p for another year, it seems like the best all-round earpiece amongst them all
I'm also still using the l2p. I'm thinking of getting the l3p or l4, but Im pretty fond of the bass on these and I heard the other ones have less
@@r3man58 Yes, so I heard as well. The earpieces after L2P, have been not as impressive, in terms of sounds. However, aesthetically, they are better.
If you want the ability to rattle your teeth with bass intensity the LP2 or 2+. As an owner of the LP2 ,LP2+ and Liberty 4 the L4 has a very smooth bass ability but not the earth shattering of the LP2 models . Add in the inability of the L4 to disable absolute volume you cannot push the limits on your eq and gain without massive distortion . The LP2s laugh at distortion , no matter the volume .
@@MarkElmore Truly.. L2p is so groundbreaking.. I wonder why anker doesn't want to put out an earbud that has both aptx and ldac as options to select from in their earbuds.. or is there something I am missing?
Hi 👋🏽
Do you know if Soundcore plans to integrate the Google Fast pair and the LC3 into its earbuds?
Because with the Google Fast pair, there is now the possibility of automatic switching between different Android and Windows devices much like the Airpods Pro on iOS and Mac-OS, I think it's as interesting if not more interesting than the standard multipoint depending on the circumstance.
Ps: Soundcore should have put the slide gesture to manage the volume, and sincerely, I think that the ADAPTIVE APTX is for the moment the best codec on Android and Windows, the latency on the earbuds with LDAC and AAC is really noticeable without gaming mode.
🙏🏽
I personally prefer the quality of LDAC/LHDC on my Edifier Neobuds Pro compared to adaptive aptX which I've used before. Latency I understand, but for quality it can't be beat.
Hello Rolins, so far we don’t hear any plans to include Google fast pair but I do agree that is a great tech to have especially we swap between devices so often. And I believe the innovation for slide for volume should come in future device now that the airpods 2 had included them. I believe the emphasis for LDAC is more towards audio quality and APTX Adaptive definitely has latency in mind, which is great depending on what you use your earbuds with mostly 😄 I personally would gravitate more towards LDAC
@@HughesyTech Yet, oddly the best sounding earbuds all use APTX 🤷🏽♂️
@@rolins3279 since when? It has to do with driver design and tuning as well, in case you weren't aware.
Guess what, I had a pair of BlackShark Joybuds Pro with Snapdragon Sound, and they sounded worse on that codec than my Edifier TWS NB 🤷
@@HughesyTech I did not say that all earbuds with APTX are better than others.
But at least already they don't have latency problem like those with LDAC.
What I want you to understand is that the codec is not everything when it comes to sound, but when it comes to latency it does.
And the headphones known to have the best sound are headphones with APTX, B&O, Sennheisers and others.
Sean Talks Tech Thanks Much !
These have an IPX4 rating
Anyone knows what the difference between the liberty 4 and the liberty 4 SE are..?
they are identical
SE is a Wal-Mart exclusive model number BUT it's the exact same device .
This one or the Sony linkbuds S?
Stay away from Sony, a great deal of marketers standing behind it and hyping a lot about the products. I've experienced enough with Sony and no way to give it a chance again.
Hi
I want help with my liberty 4
When i have in my ears and calls comes their call notification volume is very very low
Please help how to increase the volume of call notification!!! I struggle to notice if its ringing or not unless I see my iphone screen
they will always be like that as far as i know, bcs the phone thinks you're listening to the notification from the buds, which usually loud enough for anyone to hear and also since it pause any media playing
@@ezrapardede1921 but its not like with anyother earbuds
Use a nail clipper!
how would you rate the comfort 1-5?
1-5? That's -4
no news about liberty 4 pro ?
if they stick to their schedule and if they actually releasing the Pro, it will be on August-September, still month ahead, just get this if you're impatient and okay with the design
The mic sounded very clear.
Yeah they’re really nice right! 😄
@@SeanTalksTech yeah, was surprised with the clarity. Think better than the lp3 pro. Only this is the stem type bud which not my preference but then design it individual taste...haha.
Having the lp3 pro and using it as my daily driver. Hope they come up with lp4 pro..haha
Edit: the extra feature was an eye opening too.. didn't even think heart rate can be implemented in an earbud. Looking forward to more added features in the future.
Does anyone else have problem with bass distortion? It didn't have it at first but now this terrible chuffing sound, .... and I don't listen anywhere past 80 and it's very present.... plus I can hear entire richness of music gone as though they went back to the prior sound... I have the life 2 anc also, and its bass is a hell of a lot fuller, disappointed to say the least
👍👍👍
😄🙏
Very bad products by Soundcore. I have exchanged near 80 emails at given service ids.. 18 months warranty is just to befool and cover slow service time. I have already lost 6 months in vetting product picked up by courier , receiving it back, resending it on finding it again faulty. Only thing pending is tiling fase in consumer court, which I will, on receiving my product in few days.
You need use a White Gloves for reviewing :)
Why ?
@@benpanesar6329 will to view more respectfully, yeah, bro
do they have a gaming mode?
Hello there. Nope they don’t have dedicated gaming modes.
2 dynamic drivers aren’t as good as a 1 dynamic 1 balanced armature setup. Tbh, Soundcore should be moving to add in more than just 2 drivers to their setup! A triple or quadruple driver setup would set a future pair of earbuds for the rest in the market!! So I don’t recommend the Liberty 4 by any means when the Liberty 2 pros still sound superior. But please Soundcore! MORE DRIVERS!!!
How’s the sound quality for you on the liberty 2 pro and do you have the original or upgraded version
@@suprxmefire9497 I have both and both surpass the L4s in overall sound quality apples to apples . The 2Pro+ in LADAC apples to L4 apples is same result , L4s sounding VERY good but not AS good .
I want these but the battery life is a huge let down :(
the ear tips should have been black.
it can track your heart rate, no need for a smart watch
I think the heart rate is more towards working out. I usually don’t wear them the whole day so it doesn’t give me a full days mapping worth of heart rates. If that’s what some people are tracking. But if you’re just casually checking your heart rates then this will work great.
Sean, did you tell whether the Liberty 4 dethroned the Liberty 3 Pro or not?Give the minute mark when you did do that here? If you didn't, then this makes you a false advertiser, a phoney
Yeah there was almost zero comparison to be honest. So title is misleading. It's more just a review of the 4.
I hate stem earbuds, glad that I don't have to buy them
