One of the best things about Norm is that he doesn't just say funny things, but he says things funny.
Excellent!
You are our new hope now …. I guess.
Difference between a comic and a comedian lol
@@kenkuchnicki9012 be careful pinning all our hopes onto that man. Porpoises are already fed
He is also giving a history lesson, Jean Marchand, Gerard Pelletier and Pierre Trudeau were really known as the "Three Wise Men" of Quebec. One thing though, it's not SeaWorld in Niagara Falls, it's Marineland.
Conan mentioned Oscar Pistorius, he just got out of jail.
Norm laughs at the Andy comment at the end because Norm is definitely the kind of guy that would take someone on a 4 mile hike just to show them a turd and then die laughing at their confusion :D
Norm jokes are like great music.
Never gets old.
Totslly true!!!!
Norm always sounded like he was rambling incoherently, but he was actually a comic who agonized over every work, trying to get the joke just perfect. His schtick was the juxtoposition of incoherence and perfection. That's why he was considered a comic's comic.
What I love about norm is that the punchline is never as good as the buildup which itself kind of becomes a meta punchline
I appreciate that maddy here gets the subtle humor of norm 😊
It's called Marine land, Niagara. ( The Seaworld thing)
He was insanely smart. He was a voracious reader, who read the Russian novelists, books of philosophy and many other things. He became Christian in his later years.
No one but Norm Macdonald could pull off a delivery like this. Lol...then him falling off the chair after Andy Richter's comment, so funny!
The moth joke is the epitome of Norm. He works Dosteyevsky and other literary references in this loooong joke just to have a true groaner of a punch line. That was the joke - that the punchline was sooo bad. He trusted his audience to be smart enough to get it. It wasn't about the joke, it was about setting up the audience. Norm was a genius.
Norm told a "Dirty Johnny" joke on Stern a few years ago, The set-up lasted at least 15 minutes - and then the joke went absolutely nowhere! It was the funniest thing I ever heard. 😅
The version from Norm Macdonald Live with Merchant is orders of magnitude better
Aside from appreciating Norms comedic brilliance it's always a pleasure to see others do so as well. Laughed right along with you.
I've gone down hours-long rabbit holes of his comedy and appearances on talk shows. Him with Conan and David Letterman is so good. It's an odd sense of humor where he pretends to be stupid but he's often times the smartest person in the room.
Smartest person in the room? Was he good at math or something?
@@famousmortimer7933 if you don’t know math, you won’t know when an answer is correct
@@famousmortimer7933 He actually was, lol. I remember a story some guy whose name I can't remember told on a podcast about a time he and norm got in an elevator and some guys were discussing some really complex mathematical stuff and he says norm just started talking to them about it like it was some kind of small talk. He also graduated from high school at 14 and got into uni at 16 and I remember on his book club page he would recommend some math books from time to time.
@@famousmortimer7933Yes, I hear he was very good at mathematics.
@@famousmortimer7933 so being good at a singular thing is being smart
Love Norm! His passing was a shock to everyone. RIP... o
I didn't even know he was sick!
@@DarthLetalis --Funny thing is that he had cancer for about ten years and almost nobody knew. He kept it a secret and so when he passed people were shocked, including some of his closest friends. So a lot of people were in the same boat as you. 11
i always noticed how many times he said "baby dolphins" that really sets up the punchline. lol
There is Marine Land
I have seen this Norm video many times, but I still laughed. Norm is funny, period.
Many of Norm's jokes are funnier on additional viewing.
Many of Norm's jokes are funnier on additional viewing.
Useful Purpose/Youthful Porpoise. 😅😂 Norm!!!!! 🎉🎉🎉
Gotta try out Norm’s “professor of logic” & “moth” jokes both on late night shows with similar set up and delivery styles.
He was so great! RIP Norm!
Norm is great.. I've been watching his videos for like 15 years and he still makes me laugh just as much as ever. RIP
The irony being that Norm could of been a Jacques de Gatineau himself
You understand Norm so well haha
He’s too good.
Norm was a wild man lol. He knew exactly what he was doing. Dude got more fun out of making "dad jokes" and make the punch lines into a twist ending lol. He did not care if the audience laughed ....he found it amusing and that was enough lol.
Reminds me of the "Moth" joke where he had to kill a bunch of time on Conan's show lol.
You are very insightful on Norms small details to his jokes.
You should react to Norm telling the story of Andy Richter the Swedish German! I think it's my favorite 😂
Norm was one of kind. ❤❤❤
Yesss, Norm! More Norm! I subscribed just because of Norm Macdonald reactions!
Love the reaction !😅
Norm Macdonald was always so funny - watch some of his SNL stuff - RIP Norm.
if i had my brain rewired to work like Norm's just for 5 mins i don't think i could handle it
If you want to know who norm was, watch his appearance on " The View " with Barbara Walter's. Epic.
Rip norm😂😂😂. There's a marineland in Niagara falls Ontario. It's similar to sea world. You're correct about norm just making up stories lol that's why he's awesome.
This unfortunate late man was a teacher. Timing, even on a supposed stumble. Chaplin would have been proud.
It's when you see it for the second time is when you realize the joke is on us.
A 4 mile hike to see a dog turn, haha. Might be the funniest thing Andy has said on Conan ever.
That is some goddamn perfect teeth.
And Andy made Norm fall down laughing, dude is underrated AF.
Don't mind me, just an Old Chunk of Coal here to pump the algorithm.
It's that look in his eyes when he knows he's gotcha. Then you see the impish grin. Then he lets you have it. Then you're done.
That may be the hardest I’ve seen you laugh Maddy.
Norm MacDonald was an amazing troll
Awesome reaction... you get every nuance in Norm's comedy. After watching a few other people's reaction to this joke the past few weeks, apparently it's not such an easy task. 😅
💗
It wasn't called seaworld but was called Marineland and Gamefarm on Canadian side😂
The is a place called Marineland on the Canadian side. ... lts where you will find baby dolphins and of course Jacques DeGatineau.....
Aquarium of Niagara exists....they have penquins and seals, but no porpoise, youthful or not. lol.
One of my favorite norm quotes was about talk shows & it goes something like this “my philosophy is basically that a talk show is a big joke, & the audience & the host are in on the joke. & the joke is the guest.” Always liked something about it lol
Love how Norm appreciates Andy Richter's perfect analogy for his kind of humour. He has taken us many times on a four-mile-hike to show us a dog turd. And every time it was totally worth it
Anyone who appreciates Norm's humor is ok in my book. Great reaction!
It's called Marineland in Niagara Falls, Canada.
Yes, there is (or was at that time) a SeaWorld
in Niagara Falls at that time....
... " and by gosh"
Professor of Logic by Norm is a must see!!!!
Marineland in Niagara Falls Ontario 😊 been there for 50 years😊
There's a "Marine Land" (kinda an oxymoron) on the Canadian side.
There is a Sea World, well Marineland in Niagra Falls, Ontario.
Some people get Norm. And every single one of them is better off.
Sea World in Niagara Falls CA. Been there many-a-time
We have Marineland, a poor mans Seaworld, in Niagara Falls Canada.
And we still fanboy over Maddie, even thought she mispronounced "Convoluted"
Lol I know words, promise! 😂
@@MaddyReactions hahaha
YOU are our new hope now…I guess.
Have you ever heard Norm how he learns new words to have more verisimilitude? Look it up! And reply
@@MaddyReactions. Verisimilitude ua-cam.com/video/_r3-ms2FIVs/v-deo.htmlsi=B4teeCoICnxNW0dI.
I miss him so much.
GNR and Norm so close together?
Subscribed!
RIP Norm.
If you’ve never listen to his, Dirty Johnny story, you must.
As well thought out and calculated as his jokes were, I always wonder in this case if he didn't off up the name and then just ran with it. He was smart enough to have gone either way - perhaps calculated, knowing Conan would bite and set up the joke, or fully accidental & just turning it into part of the bigger joke. He was an utterly brilliant comedic mind.
Great Reaction 😂
Les Moonves is the head of CBS television. He picks who has shows on that network. That's why they see joking about sending norm demo videos auditioning for a show.
A Norm joke I never saw before. This made me so happy.
Be sure to check out the Moth joke.
Darn, that was a bit too tricky english word for a foreigner like me, went a bit over my head the first time there. A pure Norm joke though, he is a master at these kinds
theres a sea world type place near niagra falls called marine land
canada does not have a sea world indeed but niagara falls has marineland, which is similar, and everyone loooves marineland
(except the whale)
It's actually called Marine Land in Niagara Falls
I miss Norm he was taken far too soon one of the best comics ever 🧂🇺🇸
He's right about the sea world but it's called Marineland in Niagara Falls Ontario.
It used to be called a "shaggy dog story."
I love how much you get it .He’s unbelievably funny ! Check out the “professor of logic”or The “moth” joke also on Conan
She did moth joke but it got blocked unfortunately
And to here again 😂
Maddy, the park is called Marineland.
I miss that Old Chunk of Coal.
Try to watch some of his old Saturday Night Live news segments - Norm is just a scream!
It's a Marineland, not a Seaworld, but it's totally a thing on the Canadian side of Niagara Falls. I got soaked by a friggin killer whale there years ago lol.
Norm killed with that joke. R.I.P.
Norms blue card jokes are the best
yes there is a sea world in niagra falls
good stuff great reaction
If you go over the rainbow bridge from Niagara Falls Ny into Niagara Falls Ontario. Sea world is about 15-30 minutes over the border.
Darling your smile made my day!
I had a mouthful of food at the punchline. Guess what happened😂😂😂
😂
"useful purpose" = "youthful porpoise"
You should also look for Harland Williams's appearances on Conan.
Checkout Norm host the Canadian screen awards. Super funny!!!
Find the Moth Joke on Conan.
Very funny
Andy nailed it- a four mile hike to see a dog turd. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Personally his schtick about Bill Cosby's hypocrisy is my favorite.
RIP Norman
Any other human being who told this joke would have gotten booed off stage! Only Norm could get away with it - and have it actually turn out funny. RIP, you failed to do enough OJ jokes while you were here!!🤣🙏
actually Its called 'Marineland" same package different name lol....Im sure Norn was VERY sarcastic there lmao
apologies should have stated this is Canadas Sea World to be clear ;)
Norm was the best at telling convaulted jokes.
BTW Norm is Canadian
He is very funny even when he was on SNL !!!
He was talk8ng about Marineland. It's on the Canadian side.
Could you please explain for us folks at home who Norm is.😂
