      This video has single handedly made me want to go buy a raspberry pi, a few old hard drives and floppy drives, and start playing with the; maybe make a semi-functional terminal emulator with haptic feedback sound (And real working floppy drive?). :P

    • @caret4812
      @caret4812 3 роки тому +4

      @@AnnoyingOrange420 no, touch (even if they reach a perfect 100% sensitivity ) is no more faster or efficient than just pressing buttons and get a feedback visually and mechanically, probably the future will be a mix between the two, where you can press on a virtual keyboard and still gets the same feedback and efficiency (not talking about the bullshit haptic touch,)

      You can build "sleeper" PCs with modern hardware in a vintage case. Many vintage keyboards still work as they haven't changed much (until you go far enough back). You can use an OS/theme that looks vintage or even run old software using virtual machines.

      You can still get fantastic retro keyboards on a modern system, even the classic IBM model M, which basically invented the modern American layout, is still being produced. You can get one brand new (now under the name Unicomp) for like 100$, it sounds just as clacky and beautiful as ever

    I use cool-retro-term on a daily basis as my goto Linux terminal. I also like vim as a goto text editor.
    CRT's are just so nice to the eyes, at least when it comes to visual appeal that is.
    Sometimes I hook up my old, cheap, tiny CRT television to my MacBook (yes, running a Linux kernel) through an HDMI to RCA adaptor just for fun. Lots of colors are much brighter, also a little difference in depth.
    Say cartoons like SpongeBob, they look way more expressive then on an LCD in my opinion.
    Especially vhs-style era videos, 80's graphics, etc.
    Are much more interesting on a CRT.
    Also the flickering, haze and stuff...
    Extra nostalgia factor.

    Im doing the exact same thing but in Rust
    I think it would be a good idea to allow two game modes
    First being single player, where player 2 is basically going to be automated by placing a random position
    and multiplayer, as shown in this video

      you can do better than random by using a minmax algorithm.

    Hey, thanks for this! I just love these old-school computer typing sound effects from the 70's and 80's, they have a lot of character! Plus, the computer typing sound effects are very soothing to my ears! The next time I have trouble sleeping, I'll play this video! LOL! I look forward to seeing more of your videos! You just earned a new subscriber! :) By the way, I could use this video clip for one of my film projects! Do I have your expressed permission to do so? You'll get full credit, of course! :)
