I bet she's also the one that will snap back with "that's not *real* feminism!" when someone questions the tenets of feminism, or says that feminism doesn't work for them because of X,Y, Z....
Its like "how dare you lose weight and reduce your chances of health complications, I thought you were about body positivity"? Honestly no one should be getting any notoriety just because they fit the politically correct agenda.
Wilson was always fat, but she gained a lot of weight after her father died. She said that she lost weight after working on her mental health, because she was eating away her feelings, and better mental health meant less harmful binge eating. They don't care about her, they only want to be justifiably angry. *Being fat isn't a personality trait.*
she isn’t mad over wilson losing weight though, she’s mad over how wilson is using said weight loss to mistreat fat people, and saying that they should also be obligated to change their bodies just bc she did. the clips in this video are taken out of context though, so i don’t blame you for thinking that based on this alone
@@cloudykat04 When did Rebel "mistreat" any fat person and demanding them to lose weight cuz she did??? 🤔 Where's the receipts??? Is there more we should be seeing? I'm curious

@Lalogue punching a punching bag is definitely more productive (and healthy) than putting people down because you’re jealous of their success. Makes me wonder if I should even have any online presence being a big girl who’s been losing weight. But screw these jealous chicks lmao
Isn't weird that when ppl say "Being obese is unhealthy" these fat positive people say that their body is none of their business, but when someone loses weight they make it their business

Bruh….. one of my oldest friends and I had this problem. We literally always somehow yo-yo dieted together even when we were in different environments. I lost weight Bc I was just over how I felt…. And she and her husband made comments asking if I had an ED even though I was losing the weight through lifestyle and promoted healthy eating…
That’s actually really sweet. Wanting to better yourself for the sake of your kid (even tho fat people can have kids and can still be good parents) but it was all so she could be healthier
@@Jiffy-Liffy7714 you can, but it helps the lessen the already risky work of child birth and I assume to live longer and less issues in the future like knee problems.
I'm so baffled by the concept of making your weight, sexuality, gender identity, etc, your entire identity. Does this woman have nothing else going on in her life other than being "fat"? Like, does she have hobbies? Does she watch TV? Read any books? Like to paint? Anything? If not, that's fuckin sad. Also, I wonder how long it's gonna take people like the woman featured to realize that the more you tell people to "stop it" the more people will continue to do whatever is upsetting you. The stress she's putting herself through over internalizing and reacting to all these perceived fatphobic actions is really unhealthy.
Yeah its identity politics at this point. This whole idea that what you look like is what defines you. Im complerely against it. This is something we mainly see coming from the left. And i get wanting to have a community of people you can identify with, however more often that not it brings a toxicity with it. A "if youre not one of us then your against us" mentality. (As we see here.) But more than that it completely denies individuality. Everyone is only part of a group and not responsible for their own actions. For example the leaders of BLM, whom are apparently incredibly corrupt, but if you dare say a bad word about them (as individuals for their individual actions) youre racist. Or even more recently with the actor Ezra Miller, he happens to identify as non binary and simultaneously has done some horrible violent things with 2 separate restraining orders pending. (Its a ling story but jes done hirrible things invilving minors and women and its been going on for years.) His actions of course have nothing to do with how he identifies, but that doesnt stop people from being afriad to criticize him becquse of it. Like Warner Brothers refusing to take action to penalize him in some way to hold him accountable. Im confident they've remained quiet because of backlash they think they'd receive from the lgbtq community. And this really needs to stop. People doing bad or horrible things use these labels as a shield from criticism and repercussions. Everyone needs to be held accountable for their own actions. No matter how they identify.
That's what I don't understand either. When did EVERYTHING revolve around your gender or weight??? Like the first thing you need to know about someone nowadays is their f'n gender. I DON"T CARE. Be the best you can be. Live your life well. Treat others as you want to be treated. I don't care what your pronouns are - just be a good, caring person. /end rant (thank you, sorry, I've wanted to get that off my chest for awhile).
It really rubs me the wrong way. She's obsessing over someone she doesnt even know and it's really not her business. Being fat has been scientifically proven to cause fat to collect around the brain, causing dysfunction. Being fat literally makes you dumber, not to mention hormones being off the charts.
Funny fat friend here: Making people around you laugh feels so much better than feeling sorry for yourself. It has taken me years to stop hating my body and just love who I am. Still fat, still funny, still loved.
In a interview Rebel said she was losing weight to get healthy and for fertility purposes. She’s 40 and wants to save her eggs. She tried and it didn’t go well. The doctor said losing weight would help. This is about her and what she wants. This has nothing to do with the feelings of the chubby community. And taking someone else’s weight loss as a personal attack is the craziest thing ever. Those people have some issues to work through.
“I don’t trust fat people who become thin” is one of the most toxic things I’ve ever heard. That’s downright sabotage. As a morbidly obese person, I HATE when people basically tell others not to be healthy, especially like this! Rebel Wilson is an amazing, charismatic woman who was lost and felt trapped in her body so she decided to embrace it, and became desensitized to her obesity instead. Putting the burden that “fat people aren’t treated like humans because of Rebel”, is just fucked up when she was actually the one being exploited and likely going through turmoil. And that judgement is based purely on her output in 2016 and prior, excluding her weight. It is toxic to become fat as a joke, but she was in a mindset that she couldn’t see herself become anything better. It was her identity. I know what that’s like. You begin to make excuses, then you become complacent. Then you become toxic, make your weight your identity. Then you turn into a bitter asshole that hates others for doing what you deem impossible. It’s human nature for us to desire prettier people, usually with less weight. Doesn’t mean you should point fingers at everyone else because that makes you insecure. Honestly even if it is toxic, I think Rebel finding something to love about herself back then, while it may have been a false sense of security, it still left her with the confidence that is crucial in WANTING and FINDING more for oneself. And she is still the same charismatic actress.
also who does she think she is. you are so important that I care what some random chick on TikTok thinks lol/ I think she needs to get off the internet and lives in the world
@@ayajade6683 I 100% agree with you. I am obese and I have faked being secure with myself to avoid negativity. I have since then worked on my mindset and myself to lose weight so I don't have to fake it. Im onlt speaking for myself but I can completely see other overweight people doing it also.
People who care about what strangers do with their body have waaaay too much free time on their hands. Periodt. Michelle the voice of reason as always :)
I just don’t see why ppl care so much? So ppl who are overweight gotta stay fat forever? They can’t change without being accused of hating themselves or other fat ppl even if there’s a completely different reason 😑
Honestly. Like I only have one job but that's enough for me to keep myself on my own business. And fat activists looooove to repeat that "you don't get to talk about other people's body", but only when it comes to them. People who are considered thin or fit don't have thay privilege apparently.
That’s the irony, they don’t see the hypocrisy of it - they’re policing other peoples weight when they get so upset when people try to police *their* weight.
Girl I fucking love you for this. Prior to the pandemic I was pushing 400 pounds. I knew I was going to be laid off so I vowed to make the most of my time home so I started putting in the work, diet exercise and changing my mindset to be more outgoing. As of my latest weigh in I'm down to 250 and I feel better than I have since I was a teenager. It pisses me off to no end when big people act like they're a protected species. Should obese people be shamed and ridiculed? Absolutely not. Should they be coddled and told that their size and health doesn't matter as long as they're happy? Hell no. I wish someone would've kicked me in the ass when I was 25 to get my shit together and get healthy. Otherwise it wouldn't have taken me until I was 30 to be at a weight I'm comfortable in and not feel like a social parriah. And when I lost the weight and started feeling comfortable in my own skin, you know what happened? People took notice. I actively tried to become more approachable and change the vibe I was giving off. Since then I've reconnected with friends, had a few dates and adopted a much more positive outlook on life. Again, there's no need to beat obese people over the head with their weight issues. Trust me, when even walking down the block is a chore, you're fully aware of the problem. But this new wave of apologists and enablers who value self-esteem and the "this is me, love it or leave it" mentality has got to stop
That's incredible! Good job, you lost a TON of weight. And I completely agree, obese people should be loved and appreciated just as you would a healthy person, but we should encourage them to get healthy, not to stay unhealthy. And I'm glad you got ahold of yourself by 30, a lot of people wait until way later until they realize what they've done, and then regret their entire life because they were miserable the whole time.
Wow! That was incredible. I've never really been "fat" myself but I do work out on a regular basis (my goal is to simply get stronger). However your story and the other story motivates me! And yes, 1000% agree, no one needs to be shat on. People with weight problems certainly don't need that. I think positive encouragement is the goal here.
I think people don't want to put in work to loose weight . I believe the fat activists only activate because they are unhappy with their weight, and want to convince the world that overweight/ obsese is ok. And they're trying to convince us that we're fat phobic for being like hey, you're gonna have a heart attack or something-- u can't be overweight and healthy or you wouldn't be OVERweight
She acts like thin people float through life and are never mistreated or disrespected. Sometimes even for being thin. God, these people are exhausting.
The amount of times I've heard "thin privilege" is stupid. I'm not privileged because I exercise and don't eat a surplus of calories every day.. anyone has the ability to be at a caloric deficit, they just choose not to and need some way to blame me for their problems and treat me like I'm the problem.
I could never win, I was made fun of by my friends and strangers for being fat, and now that I’m skinny my family and some freinds make fun of me for it and to be honest the comments I get now are far more hurtful than any fat insult I received back them.
I admit that I do have "skinny privilege" but having said that I would be able to buy myself a cheap used car if I had a dollar for every time someone has made fun of me for having "no ass" or a "bony butt".
"She gained weight to get fat when it was convenient for her career" So did Tess Holiday, especially after her "anorexia" comments, but the body positivity community isn't getting mad at that, right?
@@cartqueen6114 True, a person that is fat also sounds odd. But when someone keeps calling themselves a fat person as in nonstop, connecting it to their identity, then clearly there's an issue, which is what I think OP meant.

I'm usually against these fat positivity people but I could sense her stress in feeling like she gets mistreated only because of the way she looks. It's not much about Rebel losing weight, it's about how fat people get represented. I know Michelle mentioned other stereotypes, but she also said black people have a good representation in movies. I can't think of any fat person in a movie that has a role where them being fat is not the main point. Fat people in movies are either losers, nerds, funny or unwanted. I see where you are coming from, but she's also talking from her perspective and her perspective has some foundations in decades of 'bad' representation of fat people. Your experience may be different, but at large, in society, fat people are not seen very well, and that's the movies fault too. I'm very skinny so can't really relate to be fat, and I think fat people would benefit from dieting. However, if I were made fun of all the time (which happened when I was younger by the way) for being skinny, I would feel dehumanised too. However I'm lucky my body type is considered attractive, and actresses with my body type are usually the pretty girls. As a 45 year old woman, I can say that it's easy to say you'll always love being fat in your 20s. Not so much when the negative effects start kicking in your late 30s/early 40s.
And once you get past the half-century mark and menopause is a thing, doctors stop being subtle, or nice. The 20-something women who think it’s traumatizing to be asked to step on a scale or to have weight loss mentioned by their docs are in for a RUDE awakening when strokes, cancer, heart attacks, and diabetes enter the picture.
Absolutely true. I only made it to 26 before I was practically sobbing daily over the amount of pain I was in just trying to do normal things like tie my shoes or go grocery shopping. I could barely tie my damn shoes! Shopping was torture. I needed and wanted the food but I was practically in tears after like 10 minutes of walking around.

Hopefully we’re seeing typecasting reducing it’s stranglehold on actors.
Chris Farley’s story broke my heart. I hope typecasting based on weight ends too. Rebel Wilson could just as easily play a funny, thin girl. Or she could even be the desirable lead who looks angelic but when she opens her mouth people are shocked

She views it as an “attack” on fat people. That’s what she meant by “she turns her back”

The whole "you're funny cos you're fat" trope was at its peak a few years ago, and it can definitely be degrading and dehumanising to have your body type associated with the token fat funny caricature Hollywood uses for a cheap laugh. What she should be criticising is the industry standard that facilitated Rebels weight gain in the first place, not her personal choice to lose weight after a successful career because she simply wants to feel better about herself. Nothing feminist about trying to police a woman's bodily autonomy.
Yes exactly cant blame someone for going for the fat roles if that’s what is most accessible to them at the time. She wasn’t faking being fat in order to be popular. She just wanted a job (like we all do) and now she is realizing she doesn’t want THOSE jobs.
She might have had the intention of furthering her career with her weight, but some people just don’t want to be stuck in the ‘goofy fat lady’ role forever. I for one am proud of Rebel Wilson’s weight loss!
Yea I mean I’m not fat but if I were and could make more money gaining more I would. Once insecure the bag I would lose it again lol which is what rebel did. Honestly I’m impressed
Can confirm, after losing 150 lbs people treat me differently. But I was losing the weight while in college where I was becoming more comfortable with myself, more social and gaining confidence. Losing weight definitely boosted these areas of self-development but it was not an isolated case of "oh I lost weight now all these people like me" and more of a "I like myself, I'm more positive/confident and more people are drawn toward that energy". Great video as always Michele!
I agree 100 percent. I recently lost 100 pounds an I have noticed more of a sense of pride in myself. Definitely more confident, not just in how i look but mentally how I feel. I have an energy for the day that I didn't have when I was obese.
She has such a pretty face/ facial structure. It's crazy how much excess fat can hide your features. She looks like a whole different person. Good for her!
Exactly! Sometimes when someone loses weight, you see what they REALLY look like under all that weight. A lot of them are so pretty. Like Adele....she was already beautiful but damn, she is gorgeous now.
I will say, I don't love comparing weight stereotypes to racial stereotypes cuz you literally cannot change your race. And racial stereotypes are rooted in a lot darker history and can be much more harmful.
I just think it's so narcissistic that someone actually thinks that someone has to devote their life to them. She acts like rebel Wilson wasn't allowed to improve her body in a way that makes her feel comfortable. It's just so ridiculous like get over yourself the world does not revolve around you and your insecurities and your sensitivity. Only because someone decides to improve their body that doesn't mean they are talking about your body keyword "their" body. Some of these fat positive people just need to get over themselves. Stop making fat a personality trait smh
You make a really good point about Rebel Wilson always struggling with her weight. Like this tik toker makes it seem like Rebel was skinny all her life and then woke up one day and gained weight to be famous. I think that would be messed up. But if Rebel struggled with her weight and realized one day, 'hey, I can just lean into this and own my body and make money.' Then i see no problem with this. Also, did they consider that Rebel now has the money for a personal trainer, healthy lifestyle changes, etc. Like now that she has made it, there is nothing wrong with her working toward the body she wants!
THE COSPLAY, YESS! 👏🏽 So fat people getting healthy is bad now? No more celebrating positive healthy life decisions? NO ONE has to explain why they’re getting healthy and losing weight.
It really bothers me that the “body positive” movement is only for obese people. I have been underweight my whole life (and finally just got to a healthy weight in the last year), and I’m not allowed to publicly say I respect and love my body. I’ve worked so hard to get to a healthy weight despite my health conditions and I think that’s worth celebrating, but I can’t do that in public these days it feels like. And I’m not allowed to complain about finding clothes that fit my very tall and thin body. I’m almost 6’ tall, it’s hard out here for the giants lol.
Agreed, the "body positive" movement should be about accepting all body types but still also looking to improve themselves where they can achieve a stable weight.

What this “woman” doesn’t know is that the main reason Wilson lost weight is because she was told she didn’t had very good fertility, and was recommended to lose weight to increase the chances to have a baby in the future, she said it with with her own words, this was very important to her. This was the main reason, plus all of the benefits for her health she was getting, being more active, happy, less tired, better mental state, and a lot more.
YALL why is Rebel Wilson's body anyone's business but her own? or does that not count for skinnier women? I swear to god these people are so hypocritical
It should be the purpose of the Body Positivity movement, "your own body is your own business". I personally took distances from the movement when a girl told me I wasn't fat enough to be body positive and that I got burned from diet culture because I would like to be thinner.
I am slightly obese and struggling with Atkins diet because I WANT to get back to my skinny self. I can't blame Rebel Wilson or any other person for my problems and insecurities. It's not a betrayal from their part. Being obese is not a goal or a reason to be proud. It's a risk. Your entire livelihood is at risk: cardiac diseases, diabetes, high blood pressure are like Damocles sword tangling above your head. These obese gals need to grow (no pun intended) the fuck up. I sincerely applaud Wilson's weight loss and for how fabulous she looks. And you, girl: you look fabulous in your new cosplay getup. Damn!
She says that ‘fat people are dehumanised’ she is literally dehumanising Rebel and only seeing her as a fat body and not as a human who wants to prioritise their health.
I just find it kind of sad that people are so pissed over people losing weight, and yet talk about how you should have the freedom to do whatever you want with your body when it comes to everything else. People experience different health issues in their lives that may cause weight gain, weight loss or even the need for weight gain or loss. I feel like choosing to be healthy and survive for longer is a choice that shouldn't be shamed
I work on healthcare and I’ll just say this - in my experience leg amputations tended to happen with overweight patients who had terrible mobility, the type that prevents you from even bending over comfortably. As you get older, your body degrades and it’s a literal effect of aging. There is no turning back time. And being overweight is akin to putting yourself on the fast track.

As a queer person, SOOOOO many stereotypes about us are accurate. The “they were roommates” thing, dressing chaotically, not even being able to “sit straight”. And they’re funny!
Lmao it's almost as if stereotypes appear because a large enough portion of any given population do those things/exhibit those traits. I'm bi and I have a very "bi" haircut unintentionally and it makes me laugh all the time. Most stereotypes are pretty damn true and usually pretty funny no matter who it's about.
In my case, it's a chicken or the egg question. As a girl, I grew up always sitting splayed out leaning on the spot that's halfway down the back of the chair. Skirts were and still were my kryptonite. Turns out I'm bi. Go figure
If they get mad with celebrities that have NEVER said they're part or support "body positivity", "HAES", "fat positivity", "fat acceptance", etc. (Like Adele and Rebel) I can't imagine how the shit will explote if one of ther public faces chose lose weight in the Future (I mean they lose their mind when she was taking green smothies)
"I'm so angry I'm literally shaking because someone chose to do something healthy for themselves that I don't like" Oh hey wow that's nuts have you ever considered minding your own business?
Repeat after me: THE HUMAN BODY IS NOT DESIGNED TO CARRY 30kg OF EXTRA WEIGHT OR 15kg BELOW A NATURAL WEIGHT (you usually don't make it to being 30kg underweight bc guess what, you will die pretty quickly). If you think you are doing great carrying 30 extra kilos, do it. You are a free human being. You are also entitled to smoke 3 packs of cigarettes a day, starve yourself or drink 2 bottles of wine a day. But it is scientifically proven that none of this is healthy. You will feel the side effects sooner or later. I am so done with this part of "body positivity"- promoting an unhealthy lifestyle and diet as something liberating and great. And no, I don't only have this opinion towards obese individuals, I also disguise "healthy" influencers who promote 1200kcal diets as healthy.
When I lost weight (I was slightly heavy for my frame) my fibromyalgia went into remission, I felt healthier and had more energy, and I was much happier with how my body looked. I'm slight framed so I really don't carry extra weight well. I don't understand anyone getting angry at another human being for trying to better themselves in Any way, but then again I don't understand a lot of things people get all wound up about. 🙄
"I've come to terms with my fatness and love my body" Also her: is LITERALLY shaking because someone else lost weight. If that doesn't scream confidence, I don't know what does :D
The "you don't know if people really like you or because you are thin" was hilarious to me. As if skinny people only get treated nicely all around. The thing that actually might change is that strangers are nicer like in costumer service maybe or people at the gym take you more serious. But when it comes to private friends and love... Fat people can have fake friends as well. Also fat people often struggle with "do they love me or do they have a fetish?"
Is incredible that they said like having a thin body is something out of the world, and not a normal body type that have been predominant for thousands of years. Well you know, before peope became so privileged they took much more food than they needed
also, are your friends keeping you around so that they 'aren't the ugly one'. I have friends that went through this issue. Friends were mad they lost weight and started treating them badly. Turns out, they were using that person as a 'confidence booster'. Being fat doesn't mean you have good friends/loved ones.
I've got some weird experiences around this one. I recently lost about 50 lbs. What I have noticed is that people are DEFINITELY nicer to me. Not just strangers... But I make friends easier and I generally get invited to do more things than I ever did. It is somewhat worth noting tho that a lot of us who lose a large amount of weight tend to also get a lot more confident and outgoing once we do because we don't reject ourselves as often with the idea that we don't deserve those friends or opportunities.
Zachary Levi lost weight/gained muscle and he wasn’t even fat. He said that when he got a dietician and started eating better he never realized how bad processed food impact mental health. I feel like mental health is probably a huge plus when losing weight.
Claims that making fun of fat people is wrong because they are also humans! Gets angry because of someone who used to make fat people jokes lost weight, with the the source of hatred being the weight loss alone. Makes sense.
I know I need to work on myself and health but I wouldn’t project my anger at myself for being lazy on to anyone else. I love seeing people so motivated to lose weight and to get healthy and fit it’s awesome! Some people just want to blame others for their own short comings.
It’s literally so funny to me how she’s mad at Rebel Wilson for losing weight after having been fat representation and being typecast as a fat girl… like everyone has the ability to lose and gain weight ?? It’s not like… an immovable permanent state of being
Nah bro u born fat and stay fat, obese people can exercise and eat carrots all day they’d still gain weight. Check your thin privileges 🙏🙏 -fat activists probably
When I saw Wilson's weight loss photos, I thought, "wow! Good on ya girl!" I was genuinely surprised, happy for her. Same with Adele. They're both gorgeous either way, but they wanted to change. Admirable.
Body positivity also means loving your body enough to take care of it and that’s what Rebel decided to do, Rebel’s weight loss has absolutely no effect on her so the fact that she’s complaining about what someone decides to do their body even though it has no effect on her is pathetic, um excuse ma’am your insecurity is showing
Imagine being so privileged .. You think you have the rights to someone's body ! 😂😂😂😂lol throw the whole world away ! On another note: Loving the cosplay Michelle! Appreciate the hours you spend for our entertainment! ❤
@@onnie.6815 😂😂😂😂😂you know she'd cry Patriarchy and then start using her body to protest ... Well I guess she'll do one of those sitting down protests since she can't exactly stand the whole day or even walk the entire day. Now that I think about it .. I hope the government does tell her to lose weight it would be a reason for her to start getting her exercise in through protesting.
What’s so surprising or unusual about this stance it’s the same argument being used to push vaccines, it happens in a lot of area’s of society, it’s not unique to the fat acceptance movement.
I can relate to the "losing weight for health reasons" thing. I weigh about 180 lbs right now, and my blood pressure is higher than it should be. I don't live in a very exercise friendly area right now, but when I move at the end of the month, I'm absolutely shedding these pounds, because I don't like how those numbers and my body are looking.
The way fatfabfeminist tried to make herself a martyr because “fat people are treated like they are less than human😭”. I’m disabled and half the time use a wheelchair, and there is a very noticeable difference in the way i’m treated depending on whether or not I’m using crutches or my wheelchair. When i’m in my wheelchair I’ll have a entire room of people become awkward because they don’t know what to say, as if i’m an alien, or there’s how I’ll have people whisper (unsuccessfully) about whether I’m faking my illness because I stood up, and what about when I’ve had people ask my mum if it’s “ok to talk to me” even though I’m 24, as if mental capability is connected to leg function! But sure being and staying fat is definitely one of the most difficult things to do! Anyway, life goes on! It’s great to see that you’re recovering well, Michelle!
I get this, my friend has cerebral palsy. She actively avoids using a wheelchair because of how people treated her. She usually uses a cane or me or another friend will help support her while we walk. She's told me some straight up horror stories of people accusing her of faking her illness just because she can walk. It's ridiculous. My bestfriend is a type one diabetic and something that reminds me of that is how occasionally when we go to restaurants instead of diet soda they give her regular. Sometimes it's an accident, other times it happens so often that it feels like they're doing it on purpose because she's skinny and don't think they need to give her diet. I hate people like that.
LITERALLY HATE HOW THEY COMPARE THEMSELVES WITH DISABLE PEOPLE LIKE GIRL U CAN T WALK BECAUSE UR MORBIDLY OBESE NOT BECAUSE U HAVE NO LEGS. They act like they have no other choice but be obese and like it doesn't depend on them.
@@Reaperess I don’t have diabetes but I do have serious stomach issues and the way people are quick to judge is awful. Luckily I haven’t experienced it in person (yet😒) but just hearing the online horror stories and these clowns saying how quick they are to judge and take a gamble with peoples lives gives me chills😨!
@@user-cv4qe5mr4e what’s worse is when they’re saying “I have binge eating disorder so I can’t help being fat!” Because, sure, it is a horrid condition, but the difference between them and myself is I go and get treatment for my conditions. I try to be with all my might to be a functional person because I, and most other disabled people, have a fear of being useless and these people have the audacity to claim they’re the same when they don’t even try.
Lol, it's like a alcoholic who quits drinking, and then all of a sudden, the other alcoholics are like " You're no fun anymore? Oh its for your liver and mental health? Disgusting. You used to make great alcoholic drinks and now you're making virgin mojitos and not hanging out with us anymore and we're mad!"😂
As someone who's in the performing industry, there's a ton of pressure when you're first starting out to figure out what "type" you are in order to ensure that you'll get hired for jobs. I have no doubt Rebel felt this pressure when she first began her career, and decided that becoming the "funny fat friend" type was the most lucrative option. Actors (and people in general for that matter) have every right to change their body if they want to, and to decide that they don't want to be a certain type anymore. I'd just hope they'd do it in a healthy way, and definitely seems like Rebel Wilson has. Also, I love you cosplay Michelle! I'd also love to hear you sing more. You have a lovely voice!
It would be so cool to see a video where you review a client's before and after pictures and to also hear from their experience with you- how you helped them, how their weight loss improved their life, ect!
When you stated the reasons you wanted to lose weight, I was just like "same!" Doing it for that reason and also to prove all the negative people wrong that would project their insecurities onto me 🙂
It upsets me that the body positivity community started out as a movement for people with burns, scars, and things that aren’t changeable. But the fat positivity community changed it to being something about being morbidly obese being “healthy”.
I've found the whole "people treat you better when you're thin" thing to be quite the opposite since I've lost weight, ever since I've started taking my needs seriously and looking after myself, I realised who was around just to take advantage of me and my permeable boundaries - I would do anything to keep a friend because I was so ashamed of who I was. And when I set firmer boundaries for myself and others, I lost a LOT of friends very quickly, I even broke up with my fiance. I've since become a lot more confident and I do notice people treat me differently, but that's because I treat them differently, I don't hang my head low and avoid eye contact, I start conversations, I'm smilier, more extroverted and more polite. My body language is more open, I look more approachable to people. But most importantly, I don't take people's sh*t anymore. I've learned to be more selective over who I want to be around and who I don't. I don't think fat activists realise that there can be far more sacrifices made for the sake of health, than junk food. Friends, jobs, time. But I wouldn't change it for the world.
the part you kinda missed is 'people of the opposite sex' treat you better. i am a bit surprised that you broke up with your fiance. was that due to your eight loss or other issues?
@@jellyrolly nope. I meant everyone, same and opposite sex. I stopped taking shit from everyone and that included girls as much as guys. I was bullied and abused by my fellow women and girls most of my life. Since I started putting myself first and communicating my boundaries that seems to have stopped for now. As for my fiance, no he was a good dude, I just recognised our priorities became so different, I tried to make things work by making more quality time for him etc, but he wanted to do his own thing as much as I wanted to do my own thing, I realised I wasn't going to continue in a healthy way, so we agreed to break it off.
@@jellyrolly I’m so confused. you say that people don’t treat you better, as you said they treat you the opposite of better. yet you list ways they treat you better like no longer taking advantage of you? or is it just that nothing changed.
When I was a child (10-11 years old), I lost just under 80lbs to save my life pretty much. I have managed to keep it up and now I have a 26 inch waist, look fabulous and feel the happiest and healthiest I have ever been.
So what I’m hearing is that Rebel suffered from what I like to call the “midsize predicament.” She was too “fat” to be casted as the main/pretty lead, but she was too “skinny” to be casted as the stereotyped fat friend/character. Rebel, who at the time was probably a starving artist just wanting to get an opportunity (and as someone who was open about having BED) decided it would be easier for her to gain the weight instead of losing it (which might be true since genetics are tricky and Hollywood is ruthless about body image and having the “perfect body”). She finally did catch her big break and chased her dreams, but she’s getting older now and realizes that she needs to lose weight for her health and future. She was able to overcome her BED and she found the drive within herself to lose the weight. She probably had countless PR professionals telling her that she’s risking losing her “shtick” if you will of being the “fat” actress if she loses weight and that it could kill her career that she worked so hard for, but she decided to put her and her health first and lost the weight anyway. I’m having trouble seeing her as anything other than an icon that any feminist should support. She played the game and won. I definitely agree that it would be great to see some thicker women casted as leads and to have some larger characters that aren’t constantly having their weight referenced in the plot, but i think it’s a little rich that someone who is profiting off of being the “fat fab feminist” is mad at another person for “profiting off of being fat” when really she had no issue with that at all (as she seems to be doing the exact same thing). Her real issue was that Rebel chose to stop benefiting from it and lost weight. She had no issue with Rebel taking the role of “Fat Amy” in Pitch Perfect, because that was liberating. She’s just mad Rebel stopped being fat. Personally, I think Rebel is such a role model for me and so many other average size women. Everyone in Hollywood is a size 2 thanks to it being part of their job and them having the money to hire chefs, personal trainers, etc. Every once in a while, you’ll see the stereotypical “fat” actresses, but they’re usually size 20+. What you never see is the healthy and beautiful size 8-12 actresses who have a little extra fat due to genetics or other factors, but they’re still healthy and beautiful, and that’s the group that Rebel is representing now. It’s about time we have someone representing us midsize girls (the size Rebel probably was originally, but that was never offered a role due to that size not fitting the “skinny” or “fat” checkboxes). GO REBEL!
As a white person, I’m offended that you said white people don’t use seasoning. I would write a dissertation as to why you are wrong, mostly all of which would be anecdotal, but ultimately I just want you to know that white people who love seasoning exist and your jokes impact the way I’m treated, as a white person who loves seasoning…
I got called “small fat” and privileged because I said depending on the material and brand of clothing I can fit into a 1X even tho I comfortably wear a 2 or 3X. I was trying to make the point of depending on the material is why it fits, that’s why I even brought up the material and brands. Then when they kept up being rude I decided to return the same energy and since they brought up they weighed 400lb while I weigh 250 while being 5’4 so I’m really fat looking(trying to get back down, broke my ankle in January just lost all motivation) and that “I must know it all” I replied with maybe I know more then them cuz I didn’t let myself get to 400lbs and have actually lost weight to get healthier since I use to be almost 300. I got called fat phobic for that one 😅 then they deleted all of their original comments and made a video replying to that specific comment that I made trying to twist the whole situation and make me look bad, they won’t let me comment on their video so ppl who see their video can’t know what actually happened 😂 so that was a new experience
Some people suck! I'm glad you're recovering and getting that motivation back. I have issues with motivation because of joint issues, so progress is progress... Scales may not be the best indicator, feeling better is one of the best.
Some people are so miserable they just want to cut everyone else down with them. Hope your ankle is feeling a lot better and good luck on your journey! 💜
"Fat people aren't seen as people!" "I want her to look this way to appease my ego!!!" with the word "feminist" in her name. That's a bit hypocritical. This also reminds me of how men used to talk about women 'in the old days' over radio and in newspapers. It feels so gross. Just let Rebel do what she wants with her body - be it to gain or lose weight.

Being fat isn't an identity, either.
im so happy for her, i wish people werent so ignorant and continued to support her amazing decision
she isn’t mad over wilson losing weight though, she’s mad over how wilson is using said weight loss to mistreat fat people, and saying that they should also be obligated to change their bodies just bc she did. the clips in this video are taken out of context though, so i don’t blame you for thinking that based on this alone

👏👏👏 well said. She needs a hobby that's healthy for her, worrying about others is not it.
I'm so glad I have an identity. 😅

She talk about being fat as if it's race or ethnicity that u can't change lol
It really rubs me the wrong way. She's obsessing over someone she doesnt even know and it's really not her business.
Being fat has been scientifically proven to cause fat to collect around the brain, causing dysfunction. Being fat literally makes you dumber, not to mention hormones being off the charts.

You’re beautiful . It’s sad this person let something so silly bother them. Rebel did this for her not for others .to get upset is odd lol

Ditto; and a side note to acceptance, is improvisation on my part.
And she is still the same charismatic actress.
also who does she think she is. you are so important that I care what some random chick on TikTok thinks lol/ I think she needs to get off the internet and lives in the world
That wouldn't surprise me it's fairly common for overweight people to fake being more confident than they are to have a shield from their insecurity.
Yeah watch out. I'm a terrible person. I once stole a pencil from a lottery stand.
@@ayajade6683 I 100% agree with you. I am obese and I have faked being secure with myself to avoid negativity. I have since then worked on my mindset and myself to lose weight so I don't have to fake it. Im onlt speaking for myself but I can completely see other overweight people doing it also.
I made the decision to lose weight it was because I wanted to!!!! I dropped 50kgs over a span of a year it took a lot of work but it was worth it
People who care about what strangers do with their body have waaaay too much free time on their hands. Periodt. Michelle the voice of reason as always :)
It's mostly misery they just pretend to happy be with themselves
I just don’t see why ppl care so much? So ppl who are overweight gotta stay fat forever? They can’t change without being accused of hating themselves or other fat ppl even if there’s a completely different reason 😑
Honestly. Like I only have one job but that's enough for me to keep myself on my own business. And fat activists looooove to repeat that "you don't get to talk about other people's body", but only when it comes to them. People who are considered thin or fit don't have thay privilege apparently.
They can do some workout to cover that time.
Congratulations on the weight loss! I weighted 286 at my heaviest and I'm down to just under 260 now, so almost 30 pounds down, with about 130 to go.
They want to feel opresed for being too privileged to care for how much they eat
The amount of times I've heard "thin privilege" is stupid. I'm not privileged because I exercise and don't eat a surplus of calories every day.. anyone has the ability to be at a caloric deficit, they just choose not to and need some way to blame me for their problems and treat me like I'm the problem.
Lmao my brahs been fucking with me for 20+ years for being skinny af, as a dude.Yea we got easy life, especially when we are white 🤣
I could never win, I was made fun of by my friends and strangers for being fat, and now that I’m skinny my family and some freinds make fun of me for it and to be honest the comments I get now are far more hurtful than any fat insult I received back them.

I’m offended we don’t give Rebel enough credit on her amazing health journey! I watched her interview where she explains that she didn’t want to be the fat girl of every joke anymore. Rebel is goals and I hope she continues to make fat women mad over nothing lol
Ik right. Why would she want to be typecast forever? That gets boring and ends some ppls careers. It’s totally fine for ppl to evolve. Did ppl care this much when Chris Pratt transformed??
@@sandraaa8496 everyone forget Chris Pratt’s transformation!!!! I definitely did I think he went back to being pudgy again lol whatever happened to him
But I think this is the point the girl on tiktok was making. I think she feels is unfair that fat people always get treated as the funny character, and she wished people would just look at them as humans.
Maybe fat men have a better chance of getting a good role but still can't think of any
@@nodiggity8746 but Michelle even said it that if you’re hanging out with shitty people that mistreat you that’s on you. I am fat, I’m never the joke because I needed to switch my group of people.
I would feel sad if any time I see someone with my body type were portraying an embarrassing stereotype
I'm pretty thin, that's my body type. Obesity runs in my family and I've always been bullied, by my own family, for being thin.......
Pretty sure that's called"jealousy"
why’s it always the family 😭
I love it when Michelle defends women's choices to change their appearance
That's because she's normal, normal people don't get upset when others improve themselves. 🙂
Not just women, she's defending both women's and men's choice to change their appearances.
YES!
Yup, feet and knee issues
Yes thats why i want to lose weight now, at 33. My bmi is 25 and my belly messurments are too high. I already lost 8 pounds so far. Idk if its better to aim for a bmi of 23 or of 21 which i actually had in my early twenties
@@Saar114 if you're at 25, you're probably fine. BMI isn't the end all, be all. It isn't designed for women's body composition and it doesn't account for muscle mass. Talk to your doctor.

Wait she thinks she’s a martyr-
“Most fat people won’t choose this battle,”
But doesn’t the fat acceptance movement say being fat isn’t a choice?
It sounds like she just doesn’t trust thin people at all. Perhaps she was bullied for being fat in the past and so her trauma tells her Thin=Bad. Sounds like she needs either a therapist if she doesn’t already have one, or a new therapist if she does
Or she's jealous she can't loose weight and her fav celeb did and now she is mad bc she can't relate with her fav celeb anymore
Right. This idea that "thin people don't think of fat people as being human" is totally toxic and neurotic. I've had friends who were fat, thin or anywhere in between. I wonder how she thinks that she can be a feminist and hate women who are "thin".
@@izombieboy3318 she may be jealous, but I'm pretty sure she could lose it if she really tried. For some, they don't even have to put forth any real effort, and it just comes off soon after just being a little active.

Did everyone really forget that a huge contributing factor in Chris Farley’s addiction and eventual death was the fact that he wouldn’t get cast in anything if he lost weight, and people close to him have said that he really wanted to lose weight but didn’t to save his career.
I was just about to mention Chris Farley! Agreed. He filled the whole niche of the bumbling, overenthusiastic fat guy. RIP.
And by extension John Candy.

If anything, these people prove that you don't have to settle; you don't have to blame your genes.

Caregivers also get really bad injuries from having to lift people who are severely overweight.

If you think you are doing great carrying 30 extra kilos, do it. You are a free human being. You are also entitled to smoke 3 packs of cigarettes a day, starve yourself or drink 2 bottles of wine a day. But it is scientifically proven that none of this is healthy.
If you're rich you might wonder whether men are pursuing you for your money. I hope to have that problem some day!
Is incredible that they said like having a thin body is something out of the world, and not a normal body type that have been predominant for thousands of years. Well you know, before peope became so privileged they took much more food than they needed
She's not wrong though....
also, are your friends keeping you around so that they 'aren't the ugly one'.

@@user-cv4qe5mr4e IT'S SO ANNOYING LIKE DAMN BRUH you can lose weight just fine but disabled people can't fix their limbs
As somebody who is overweight, I hate when people who are overweight or obese get offended by weight loss journeys… *IT DOESN’T MAKE SENSE*
IKR??? like wth?! 🤷♀️
Yup just like how someone people only take the roles that they are objectified for their looks. They took that type of role to gain celebrity status.
It would be so cool to see a video where you review a client's before and after pictures and to also hear from their experience with you- how you helped them, how their weight loss improved their life, ect!
"I genuinely have no words..."
And yet, she goes on and on and on...
Yes!! I thought that was the whole reason why that movement started
IKR where is the space for "different bodies acceptance"?
They "accept" bodies unless their skinny.
@@venomg5799 what about skinny burn victims, skinny amputees?? or wait they cant be in the bod positivity movement bc they are skinny got it
Pretty sure that’s not how it started out
"You guys still have Lizzo for now" ...well.... Lizzo started dieting and immediately got backlash for wanting to lose weight
I just love how people like this feel there entitled respect. Respect is earned.
GO REBEL!
Thank you for this perspective! didn't think of it this way
As a white person, I’m offended that you said white people don’t use seasoning. I would write a dissertation as to why you are wrong, mostly all of which would be anecdotal, but ultimately I just want you to know that white people who love seasoning exist and your jokes impact the way I’m treated, as a white person who loves seasoning…
we are around
🤣
We mostly live in louisiana where of the seasoning isnt painfully spicy then its bland
🤣🤣
Yeah, I'm white and so often get annoyed when something is advertised as super-hella-hot-af, and there's just a bit of chilli lol
Woah. Glad you're doing better.
Exactly, people are really getting mad at Rebel for improving her health like WHAT.
