Lucy is the epitome of a girl scout.... Goody two shoes
“Thou shall get sidetracked by bullshit every goddamn time” I laughed my ass off. 😂
best quote of the show for sure!
And that's the entire essence of Fallout. You start out with every intention to stick to the story and five steps in and something weird sidetracks you. Lol
Side quests ftw
Best line in the show
Bro ran out of chems and needs to stock up before continuing the main quest 😂😂😂
Homie being COMPELLED to quietly sing every new song that comes along is so relatable, I've been crooning over the whole damn show each time.
Absolutely the same for me. Love it.
musician’s curse
I have been singing to myself those songs so much the last few days.
I KNOW!!!! I flipped out when Act Naturally started playing outta nowhere I was like “No wayyyyy!!!!”
Mm Id do same just because of playing BioShock lol
20:57 I love how things repeat so maximus starts yelling fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck but not because he’s running away. It’s because he’s running to help the squire. This is fantastic.
There's actually quite a lot of practical effects in this. The whole bit with Lucy walking past the ruined ship was actually filmed in Africa, and they only had one chance to shoot it since they had to worry about leaving the appropriate tracks in the sand. Likewise, the confrontation in Philly was filmed in an actual repurposed section of a massive junkyard. It's pretty impressive.
I would love to see the VFX breakdowns of these scenes so we can know just how much these “practical” effects were digitally altered. Look, I love an in-camera effect or set piece just like anyone. But the way that people are ONLY rhapsodizing about the “practical” effects in this series seems frankly insulting to the undoubtedly massive work that the VFX teams put into this. I just found an article that claimed that the series relied on practical effects with VFX only serving as a “garnish.” That is a laughable claim in a series like this. Also again, insulting. Imagine being a VFX artist, getting to work on a show with massive VFX like this one, and it comes out and everyone loves it… and your work is just described as a “garnish.” What the hell does that even mean.
@@lowkeyproductions6681 Keep an eye on Corridor Crew's channel. I am sure they will do a VFX breakdown of this at some point soon. They also point out what is real and what is CGI.
@@lowkeyproductions6681wow. I appreciate you recognizing that. I had worked my ass off to create a vfx that is basically invisible. You can’t imagine the pain of removing a zit off some stars nose. Two weeks, day after day, making a scene “perfect “ only to have a jackass say “oh, they just push a button and it happens”.
@@JiraiyaTheGallant44 To be fair, their CGI is not really comparable xD
impressive work, def deserves more attention
The Water Chip is seemingly a direct reference to the first Fallout Game where you play as a Vault Dweller who must venture outside to find a new water chip and save your vault.
Yeah, that was on purpose! I literally clapped.
@svanjasa Wonder if the brother gets out of vault 31 and go search for a new water chip 😂😂😂😂
@@eduardocruz4341 I hope it occurs to them to check Vault 32 for their chip first.
In this case they can just go to the now unused vault next door and get theirs
@@marauderdz I doubt that...they are basically morons especially the so-called new leaders...maybe the maintenance tech that told them about the chip problem...the brother probably could think of that but he needs to find a way to get out of vault 31if that robot will let him 😉 😜
17:50 I’m actually glad that Maximus got a chance to hear the other side of things and to realize it wasn’t personal. It’s just the way the law of the wasteland.
Notice 3:42 he doesn’t have the accent talking to the director and his wife, but when he is a ghoul he is using the accent like he is when he is acting
huh I noticed that and wondered if I was just hearing things
23:17 this is where everything clicked in my head. This is exactly when I realized that he was the poster boy.
When he put the picture above the body and was like "yeah....looks like him" 😂😂☠️☠️
Man, Ella kills it. I didn't know her before Arcane, but Jinx was amazingly voice acted. And now we have Lucy. Her and the rest of the cast is really selling this show.
The vault tec suit is also the colors of his cowboy costume
Yeah that's why his wife said they even got it in his color
Johnny pemberton is so good as the squire. Truly he’s funny in every role 😂
I loved him in Superstore. Such a great show.
This is the sequel to Superstore.
The interruption about the water chip may have been my favorite part of this episode. Fans of the very first game will remember that the whole premise of Fallout 1 was fixing your vault's broken water chip.
8:37 I like how the way they went about this it wasn’t like he became a tough guy because getting beat up. He just became stronger in conviction because he’s gotten his ass kicked so much so he’s able to get up and fight back. This was much better than him just kicking everyone’s ass.
What multiverse did we pop into that we are getting some fire live actions of video game properties. This show is just amazing. Utterly amazing.
That Gulper monster is the biggest NOPE NOPE NOPE ever😳😳
To think It just swallows you and slowly digests you over a long period
@@matthewglover8804 I actually really thought that dude was going to get eaten but hey it took a twist there
@@OrionInSpace yea still not 100% sure what happened there lol I think he was probably inside it's stomach and was latched onto it inside really tight. So when maximus pulls him out,the gulpers insides ripped out as well..Im not sure lol still was an awesome scene
@@matthewglover8804 I’m pretty sure he used the thing that the squire shot at his mouth to rip out the insides if you noticed
@@OrionInSpace that hook/spear/anchor was from when the ghoul was dunking the girl to attract the gulper. It snapped on it when the girl was watching it come up and snapped its mouth on it. As the ghoul pulled her out, the hook latched on and pulled the gulper out with the girl. That is why the gulper didn't try to escape until the rope snapped. 😂😂😂😂
11:09 I like how Maximus was quickly starting to act like the original Titus like starting to grab an ego because of the armor, but he realized who he was who he is and decided not to be essentially a dick to the new squire
Greg getting spoiled is the worst part instead of just finding out about the vaults naturally.
Still can't believe the Goul is THE ORIGINAL "Vault Boy" and he single handedly improvised his most recognizable pose! SO GLAD WE FINALLY KNOW WHO THE VAULT BOY IS! Cooper Howard!
Gulpers were a pain in the ass in the game so I’m glad they made them just as difficult in the show.
This is a completely different breed of gulper, to boot.
@@filthycasual8187 Lucys boot at least!
@@filthycasual8187yeah. The ones in game seem more salamander like and these ones look like they have human dna. Fev maybe?
Fev gulper it had human fingers aka human DNA makes me want to see a Centaur 🤢🤮
@@jaredlynch150 You'll find out later in the show, I promise. I'm not spoiling much more than that.
The waterchip being broken was the premise of the first fallout game.
Yup!
Anyone else screaming “don’t spoil it for Greg!”???
Yes i was really sad that the vault system was spoiled for him because i think they are saving that info for later (i havent finished the series yet)
Yep. I'm writing a pretty scathing comment.
Finally, someone noticed Rico lol
NOBODY DOES RICO LIKE RICO!!! Mahaahahahah!!!
Okay I’m glad I’m not going crazy I recognized him in the first episode I could have looked it up but where’s the fun in that😂
I was watching the third episode and my gf walked in and immediately pointed and said “is that rico?” I didn’t even notice til she said it lmao.
I knew that just by the trailer...the moment I saw him I was like *insert Dicaprio's pointing meme*
@@tomsb1280 lol I never saw that trailer but I definitely did that when I saw him in "Enders Game"
The fact Walton Goggins IS Pip boy just 👌🤌
Slight correction: Vault Boy
@@DanReyesB More of the og base for Vault boy before making him blonde.
Ah yeah my bad
Jesus Christ it’s the Vault Boy 🤦🏼♂️
get a life kid
I love Walton Goggins since "The Shield". I've always thought he could be an awesome Joker and this Fallout character make me want even more to see him as the antagonist of Batman.
I've wanted him as Freddy Krueger for years 😂
Never played these games but I love this show so much . I’m just so impressed by Walton, you can see how far his soul was destroyed by trying to survive . It’s him or them and he has really hardened his heart . I love also that Lucy is slowly getting schooled in the real world
I can't believe you all edited out the "yep, it's definitely him" bit. One of the funniest bits in the season.
I am surprised at how well played Lucy and Maximus are. For all the praise he gets (and he does do a good job), Goggins is playing the easiest character to 'get over' (the badass anti-hero). It is much harder to play earnest and vulnerable, but the actors absolutely nail it.
wait a minute! Lucy’s brother was Rico on Hannah Montana! i KNEW he looked so so so familiar to me. i can’t believe it took me this long to figure this out. i was a huge Hannah Montana fan.
He was also in Enders Game
@@swig_gigolo oh ok cool. i’ve never heard of that. i’ll check it out
@@mimicoolll0thank you for posting this, because I’ve seen so many people refer to him as Rico and I had no idea what that was from (I’m way too old to have watched Hannah Montana, lol). Like the other person said, I know him from Ender’s Game
Ella Purnell (Lucy) was also in Yellowjackets, @37:22. Y'all should cover that series, play catch-up with the 1st two seasons before season 3 comes out in 2025. It's really good, they have great writers, there's excellent acting in it, and it's just another really good messed up story with horror elements infused in the mystery that's being uncovered from the fallout of an event that changed the characters lives. Highly recommend Yellowjackets.
I second this!!! Yellowjackets is a fantastic series and so underrated!
The water chip is a reference to the first fallout game I can’t wait to point out all the references in this show
Also the song "Maybe" was also played in the intro of that game.
All my favourite scenes were when Lucy and The Ghoul were interacting. I just love their duo. Perfect narrative foils for eachother.
33:45 excited to see gregs reactions to mj spoiling what the vaults are in the finale
Aw... 33:20 he couldn't contain himself and let the cat out of the bag about Vault Tec... DOH!!! That was a HUGE spoiler bruh!
Having a Mister Handy as a doc is always terryfying. I also will note the CG was REALLY well done for it. I wasn't taken out of it at all.
I love that he knows all the songs, a true Fallout fan! lol. So far there hasn't been a song I didn't know. Anyone who playus with their in game radio off on their Pipboy is missing out with the music in the tv show.
Maximum looks more like Denzel Washington’s son than his actual son does or am I crazy
John Washington took his mom's whole face
I like how we are getting some little backstory for Vault Boy. When I watched this episode I just went THEY USED HIM AS THE FONDATION FOR THE VAULT BOY!!!!! The show is so good.
Who Is Your Favorite Character From The Series?
The Ghoul is amazing
Definitely cooper Howard, the ghoul. Guy is badass. I mean, Lucy is badass too. But coop.... he is something else. Honestly, both are my favourites.
The ghoul and the Dog (dog meat) 😂😂😂
Lucy and the Ghoul are great, but I’ve really grown to like Maximus. I had the least interest in him after watching the trailers, but in the show, he’s beginning to become a really dark, complex character, it seems that he might turn full heel by the end of this. I’m also loving the B story with the mystery in the vault.
Either Norm MacLean (the brother) or The Ghoul.
The squires of the Brotherhood remind me of the squires of Monty Python's Round Table, sans coconuts.
Or killer bunnies.
Love the call out to all the side quest that always pop up 🤣 not to mention main characters will stay put of where the main story is like how the Dog stayed
“Uh, this is normally the kind of thing the overseer would discuss in private.”
“Just go ahead,”
“The water chip is destroyed.”
Honestly one of the funniest parts of this show IMO.
The thugs trying to steal the power armor is reminisce t of every time I would return to Sanctuary to find one of my NPC's fucked off with a spare suit - including getting it glitched onto an inaccessible roof.
Yeah. You learn quickly not to leave power cores in suits, or in containers. It's especially annoying in survival mode, where you absolutely cannot hold more than a small handful of cores with crippling yourself.
Leaving dogmeat behind is the perfect example of the gameplay mechanic that you can only have 1 companion at a time.
24:57 Moises Arias played Rico in Hannah Montana. That's where people mostly know him from.
It’s cool knowing Waltin Goggins character basically became the vault boy, and many… many years later he regrets even suggesting a thumbs up
Im glad i wasnt the only one that burst out laughing at the ''TORTURE IS WRONG'' bit. I feel better about myself now.
Y’all trying to place Moises Aries’s was great. He was on most Disney channel series in the late 90’s and early 2000’s. He was the kid that was killed while bullying the MC in Enders Game with Harrison Ford, and played many other roles.
I also like the connection of the Dont Lose Your Head poster. Gave Lucy some drive to escape the vault to find her father and so far along her journey, Wilzig lost his head and now The Ghoul shot the head off the billboard.
The broken water chip is a call back to fallout 1. You had to go out into the wasteland and find a new one as the player and there was a time limit to find it.
Thaddeus is played by an incredible comedian Johnny Pemberton everyone needs to check out his stand up he’s Great!
4:34 I love you. I already saw the episode, but that subtle hint of there’s gotta be something up with the costume that leads all the way back to the end of the episode and the big reveal.
33:10 yep at this episode a friend of mine also spoilered for me everything about vaults experiments :D
25:01 lmao bro was on Hannah Montana As Rico Suave 😂😂😂😂
HURRY UP AND DROP THE REST 😭
4:54 he said that he was taking a nap one day after shooting and woke up to see himself STILL in ghoul makeup and got scared
14:58 “GLORY AWAITS!”
the creature in the water is or look's like a Axolotl ( Mexican salamander / Mexican walking fish )
Woody attempting to found the Vault 33 chapter of the Campaign for the Liberation and Integration of Terrifying Oustiders and their Rehabilitation Into Society, an objective he will never find.
“Sat here patiently waiting for the next episode…
Having finished the series on Day One.
This is my Jet. Inject or inhale it”.
well, season 2 already had been greenlit if i'm correct. Also, i really didnt think we would have the origin story of the vault boy caracter...
Yep. Season 2 was already greenlit before episode 1 even aired.
@@SonOfMutaWhere has this been said. Everywhere I look says there is no news on Season 2.
Broken Waterchip and all it's conspiracy was the main plot of the First Fallout
Great Reaction Greg and Michael! This show has been great! 👍
“STOP TORTURE IS WRONG!” Is my favourite line so far
I got so excited when they mentioned the failing water chip. It's Fallout 1 all over again.
The song at the end is "Act Naturally" by buck owens and besides being catchy, the lyrics are spot on for the character
You really shouldn’t have told him this early on that most of the vaults are experiments.
Just found your channel and I'm SUBBED... love the vibes and the thoughtful post show reaction..
Keep up the good work, and I look forward to going back through some of your old content 🫡🫡👍🏿👍🏿
38:00 she was in yellowjackets! Which you should definitely watch
the water chip is the mission on fallout 1, i love that part
6:42 “That knight really was something huh” 😳 They cooking right now!
Ella Purnell is incredible in Yellowjackets, I’ve always wanted Reel Rejects to check it out!!
Ella Purnell also plays a character in Yellowjackets, which is a kickass horror/mystery type series on Showtime. She's quite good at playing this type of character who is trying to be positive and a role model, but is also falling apart.
Yes. I ENJOYED Yellowjackets. She was Jackie
Yellowjackets is a pretty big show Ella is known for.
I started with Fallout 3. Been to Comicon representing Vault 101. Made a pipboy from pvc. You said, "I just wanna watch this forever." I concur.
The guest kinda spoiled things sometimes while talking about the games. He needs to be more careful.
Thae last fallout game came out 6 years ago.... how long do you expect people to not talk about the lore of a 20+ year old series?
If the source was a movie or TV show, I'd agree with you, but I don't think most people watching the show played the games.
@@sentenced03 Probably not as you're watching a new show based on those games for the first time. Kind of poor timing there.
Seeing as how I can’t watch it myself right now. Yall are ahead of the curve uploading things faster than others~
I for one appreciate the collection of Fallout shirts.
15:17 maximus has like a he has good instincts. He just doesn’t have the training and the technical lot knowledge like Thaddeus, his new squire
I just finished the show, and JESUS do I need season 2.
If I recall correctly, the Vault Suit does resist radiation lol.
38:07 yellow jackets she was in yellow jackets
That Gulper monster was really well done, the reveal that it’s a Human Axolotl chimera was crazy 😮
I immediately recognized the voice of the guy who delivered the bad news about the water chip. He’s one of the voice actors in Fallout New Vegas.
Love blind Al from Deadpool is playing Betty 😂 13:14
"Alright Maximus, we're going to do like 15 close up shots of your face in this episode and we want you to make the same blank expression every single time". 👏

Love your reaction and review videos❤❤
Keep up your great contents and remember to always have fun
If I had a dollar for every time Walton Goggins played a guy without a nose I'd have 2 dollars, not a lot but its weird it happened twice.
I'm surprised no comment about the busted water control chip being literally the plot line of the first Fallout game
33:00 that scene with the community, trying to discuss what to do with the end with the Raiders you quickly see how much that how much of the society have always lived in this one vault 33 and and the others who have come from a different vault like Lucy‘s dadbecause though the ones in this vault, don’t want to disturb the status quo make a decision and I have a feeling that Lucy’s dad I can’t remember his name came from a different vault so they saw things from a different point of you and that’s probably why he rose up to be the overseer
Norm was played by the kid who played Rico in hannah Montana 😂
Lucy taking the Dr.’s head was a nod to players just taking a limb from an NPC to carry their inventory without weighing themselves down😂
I love that this Gulper was an Axolotl and not a Salamander. Love them givin variety to pre-established monsters.
Love the Gulper design, giant axolotl crossed with bunch of humans.
Ella Purnell is also a main character in the first season and then a recurring character in the 'Yellowjackets' show. She has quite...the story arc.
Love that it's heavily implied Cooper was the first Vault Boy maybe it's said that he was later but I've only made it to episode 4 so far
5:25 I also like the different opening titles, depending on where we’re going with in the show
Just accidentally might’ve spoiled the ending of the show to myself. The mentioned the stuff we haven’t even touched in the west coast and I thought new californian republic and they might actually end with a tease of them
God this show is nearly perfect
