I have been using the parchment paper for years. Makes less of a mess plus by not continuously adding flour to prevent sticking, makes for a more tender crust. Also, I have found through experience that the addition of shortening makes for a more tender crust. Not as healthy, but hey, pie never was considered healthy anyway so do it up right. Great video!
omg...what is wrong with me? Ive been using plastic for my crust.....yet, I use parchment paper for everything else I make.....oi.... I WILL be using parchment paper this year. Thx u.

pretty but without the eggwash it doesnt give a nice brown color. any idea on how to get an eggwash on there without messing up the design? besides very carefully :)

Why you using shortening with butter?? What is the alternative for shortening?😊
Delicious looking crust, and I like your cutting board too! What size is it and where can I purchase it?
Do the leaves fall off easily since they are not put on using a "glue", like water or milk?
Sarah White I didn't notice them falling off, but to be safe it would be best to use a wash, I recommend an egg wash. It would also give it a really good golden brown color😊
Sorry but I’m having trouble finding the pie cutters on that site. The link doesn’t take you straight to the pie cutters. I even tried looking them up on their search bar, but, nothing. 😔

Pretty, pie didn't look baked long enough
I think she baked it halfway then added the decorative crusts to bake again so they wouldn't overbake
