Even though it gave a detailed account of the first successful Filipino resistance against foreign invaders, I believe that Antonio Pigafetta's journal on Magellan’s historic voyage was not entirely free of bias and outright lies. His loyalty on his on his captain, Magellan, led him to never wrote a negative thing on him, his journal always presented and described Magellan with a very good remark. He is also a Christian and biased towards Christian belief. He as well used estimations regarding quantity instead exact counts.
We have what we call External Criticism in Historical Analysis it covers the Internal aspect of A Primary Document or sources , your question actually falls under the said criticism which is internal in nature . Now going back to your question the voyage authored by pigafetta himself so there is a chance that the context was written basing from his account. A real life experience. So you can never tell if it’s bias unless it was translated by someone who didn’t have the primary account to the event so the importance of studying his account and by doing historical will give you an answer to your own question.
