- Smidge is a famous pair of Minecraft accounts, once owned and showcased by Dream. But while Smidge is often just seen as a normal dupe pair, it's history is wild. In today's episode of Minecraft Uncovered, we take a look through the last 5 years of the Smidge accounts being stolen, hacked, shared, sold, and more.

Hi! If you watched this video yesterday, you're probably very confused. For those that didn't know, this originally went up yesterday as scheduled, but the video was privated about 10 minutes later. Turns out that a few small pieces of information were actually private, so I quickly re-edited the video and now it's back. The information given in the video is largely the same, with the exception of Mahers' acquiry of Smidge (he bought it from someone who pulled it through Protonmail Support, instead of pulling it himself through Mojang support as I previously thought). Sorry for the inconvenience, I hate taking videos down just as much as you do (if not more) but privacy comes first. Enjoy!

You can take what I say as truth or not, it doesn't really matter to me. I know what happened to the accounts. They were locked the last time I had contact with them. I used to know Hazel personally for eight years until a falling out. To my knowledge, Hazel didn't buy the account. It was my friend Joe(We will call him Joe for privacy matters). If I remember correctly he got the accounts by trading items in Hypixel pit. He was going to use the accounts for youtube. His plan was to have our friend group run the channel. The group consisted of Hazel, Joe, June(another code name for privacy), and me. We started to get ready for it by starting a channel and figuring out what we would record. We already had recorded a couple videos. That was until, I think originally the person Joe got the accounts from had told someone else the passwords. Hence getting the accounts locked when that person had logged in multiple times while we were still logging in without knowledge of another person doing so. When we figured out they got locked we tried to get contact with the original owner by contacting people, but as Smidge has been passed around so much we couldn't find anything. If you want to possibly reach out to the mentioned people to get better accurate information over the situation feel free to ask for their discord tags and I will give them to you.
I kinda feel bad for that kid. He won a pretty special pair of accounts, and a cape from his favourite youtuber, and he just got it stolen.

I remember entering the giveaway and losing. Tiny bit upset but still thought it was pretty cool of Dream to give them out.
Well, this is unfortunate but the other Smidge account was renamed to tempname059

Fun fact: I met the Smidge accounts on Munchy Mc on January 2nd of this year. They told me the smidge accounts are back and to get "SmidgeIsBack2021" trending on twitter. obviously only 2 people actually tweeted that lol
I saw one smidge account on hypixel in around January of 2021. He claimed the other one was banned, and that’s the last I’ve seen of them.
This makes the fact that SilentDeath got locked + namechanged to BEAMEDBYSMIDGE 100x funnier now that I heard the story behind it

Its just crazy how much history these name twins are carrying. For me those are apart of the game and it’s community, it add‘s some type of footprint to the history of accounts. It’s gathering interest and attraction rather than breaking the game. It’s fully understandable that mojang doesn’t allow them in general, since theoretically and practically they actually do break the game. They still won’t harm anyone and are important for the culture, that’s what i think.
