In Germany we have multiple Hydrans Fire Systems per state. Almost every bigger town has a vehicle that can handle swap bodies. The HFS just fits in this system. Other swap bodies would be a skip, water/foam tank, hazardous materials, extended rescue equipment, operation control, boats etc.
Most are replaced but many older cities in US still have old wooden and other hydrant systems. With that kind of system do you run into issues like frozen hydrants in colder areas or bad hydrants in general where you have to lay to next one. Also how is your staffing like do you have all full-time or do you have volunteers. Cheers

Over here in Germany the Hytrans container pump system is relatively popular. A lot of districts or industrial complexes near rivers or lakes have and use them. These containers can be loaded and unloades in a matter of minutes, so they rarely have a seperate truck for them, they just load them on when needed. One pump can typicially get to around 2000gpm.They can also be used in flooding incidents, whilst there are specialized flood pump trailers that can get to around 6500gpm.
I find it interesting that roll-off/hook lift containers are not a common thing in the US. In Europe they are used for a large variety of things, not just for fire departments but also for general logistics or waste management for businesses and constructions sites. Also: these trailer mounted water monitors are many used with industrial fire departments (in Germany for example some chemical plants, refineries and other high risk industries are required by law to have there own fire departments which often times use very specialized gear that is not commonly seen in communal fire departments.) I enjoy your videos and like that you take an interest in fire fighting equipment that might not be common in the states.

I am not a motorcycle guy at all , but I love the idea of the dry chem on the motorcycle for firefighting , it no doubt could be a game changer on a jammed up highway with vehicle fire as well as in a densely populated city with heavy traffic it could be a game changer for vending cart fires for first in auxiliary to structure fires , certainly as well as vehicle fires . I think the dry chem on the bike is a huge idea , and I hope it become a norm here in PA if not the whole country . Just my two cents worth . LOL. Thank You for your videos.
The fire extinguisher ball I think it's the most practical thing that I've seen on this. Some of the other things that I thought could have some use is the robot with the fire hose because that robot could be used on those defensive fires where you can't send firefighters inside but you could probably send the robot inside to do an interior attack. And the other one is on the trailer putting out a large amount of water that would be perfect for a fire at a large Port facility where you have unlimited amounts of water from the ocean and ships burn very hot and have lots of fire the same thing with all the warehouses other industrial facilities at a port.
The "Bulldog fire truck" will cost a Dept $1.5Million for what is a lifted brush truck. Howe & Howe Tech is no longer American Owned, the brothers sold out to Textron Systems back in 2018!

In Costa Rica the Fire Department got their first pump motorcycles in 2017, to be used in the Capital City due to the heary traffic in peak hours. They were BMW.
These turbines are for industrial fires, especially chemical fires to keep the fumes down on the ground. The containers are commenly used in europe or at least in germany. A firdepartment would have a truck to carry these containers and several containers, so you could use one chassi for several specialized trucks. Decontamination, heavy technical rescue, big medical emergency with many victims, watertanks, hoses, etc. For all these things there are these containers in commen use
The Hytrans Sytems and similar are really popular with petrochem and refining industries for providing lots of water rapidly to fires when they do happen in the US/North America. They also offer relay units which are where they shine in the US, large amounts of water over large distances to lower tanker loads where roads are rough but waterways are present. They're much more popular for departmental or state use in Europe where the Fire services are set up differently from the US. Amazing system for a specialty industry/setting in the US sadly. Love to see these more often in our fire industry. EDIT: FDNY Special Operations Command has 2-3 of these they have begun using them for pump out operations post highrise fires and industrial/ large scale fires near the rivers!
The Paris Fire Brigade has the Howe & Howe Fire Robot and they used it during the Notre Dome fire a couple of years back. The City of Boston Fire Department I believe has one and the Los Angeles City Fire Department has 1 or 2 that they use on occasion here in So Cal.
The hytrans water transport system is in the Netherlands used to fill the fire engines with water. Even with the system in place we still can use handlines.
I love the idea of a simple ball that can be tossed and puts fire out,makes a safe solution for public buildings to give untrained folks a option to either aid escape or to knock the fire down. You should look up Big Mo from Chicago FD history big volume unit. I took a old pumper that had failed water tank and made a draft-ldh carrier for a rural district when I was in the vfd,it was a capable pumper being a 1000 gpm unit,sure reduced the need for tenders on large fires.
That 14000gpm monitor system is ideal if your district has waterfront industrial areas. Not something for a company but as a County/State apparatus maybe it has merits. Most suited for city fire departments I would think. Drones with TICs for 360s and searching multi-level residencies.
His numbers are off, it's 14,000 LPM, so about 10K GPM. still nutz. now the HYTRANS flood systems which is 3 of the intakes in 1 system puts out about 45K LPM
great video, a few things about the equipment shown, the heavy pump unit at the start from hytrans is in use in every fire service in the uk and is smaller than one of your american engines, they have different modules that can be used, so instead of the vehicle ( called a prime mover in the uk) being stuck at an incident you can simply take which pod you want be it comand unit, heavy pump, mass decon, hose layer, foam etc and drop it at the site then you can go to get another pod, so 1 truck can do multiple roles. the ball fire extinguisher has been used in america for a fire already a chief responded to a smoke in basement and he used a tic, no one in the building so he deployed the exploding ball by rolling it down the stairs and it knocked down the fire prior to the engines arriving. the fire bikes are again used in the uk, they where decomissioned from fire fighting after they where deemed dangerous after a fire fighter came off and got # pelvis/femur as the tanks arent baffled and unsteady, there now used for PR. as for drones we use them for the options you mentioned as well as with the water rescue teams, they can deploy rescue pfd;s t o casualties with attached safety lines so we can get them to bankside. the wheeled remote controlled units are used in tokyo, they have youtube videos, however where i live in cheshire we have petochemical plants and we used these back in the 90's, obviously tech has moved on but as you say, they where expensive. keep up the good work love the videos.
Not every service has a HVP (Hytrans system) or prime movers, most do but they are just strategically placed by the government for rapid response across county lines.
I know for a fact that every service was given strategically mass decon units, mass robe and disrobe and also high volume pumps, I was one of the teams working with them as part of the fire service flood response for the uk, cheshire where I am still has theres as do many others but, they where given to the brigades quite a few years ago, as with the IRU'S but at least half have been decommissioned now.

The come with a hoop type mount for mounting to walls. best places to set them up in fixed mounts are Small Server room, indoor genarator's and likely spots/rooms that don't get visited/used that often.
Hey i am from the netherlands, and driving one of the trucks that you showed of first. and we use it a lot with big fires. and we feed trucks (Engines) that will feed tower ladder/ ground crew.
The Netherlands actually has a lot more interesting vehicles. My local fire station has a youtubechannel (Brandweervloggers) where they recently showed off a special unit with a air cushion (for jumper rescue), a cold cutter and a Big Fan, which can also be hooked up to a water system to throw a big cloud of water. The Hague actually uses motor cycles as response vehicles (there is a video from the same channel about them). They are more for recon, small issues, inspections etc, not really for extinguishing.
They have them in the USA as well their made for Industrial Fires and or manufacturing plants(I think Pierce makes one or one of the big companies) . Some facilities have their own fire depts and depending on cause of fire you need lots of water to put out. Also besides monitors like this they have specific trucks designed for Industrial Complex's like a mid mount pump normally on a catwalk but for these purposes their built-into the cab won't lie its kind of neat not only if you have dangerous environments, but extreme weather, but also being in the cab it's probably not as loud. But there are alot. of unique fire apparatus like ones that can go on rail lines or like your pictures they have robots like eod but instead of a shotgun or water burst it has a blitz nozzle. Maybe a new video series idea, unique equipment used like piercing nozzles or not used by many anymore but cellar nozzles. Not only because it's cool tech/stuff but I can tell you many years ago I worked for 2 different departments and I made a suggestion for equipment we ran at one or other and was able to get it and even though retired they still use it so it can be educational but also gear on the wish list or suggestion it's like drones are now becoming more frequent and they can be used not only for size up but for SAR purposes as well.
In my country, we do have bike rescures in teams of two bikes. They have dry fire extinguisher and water fire extinguisher. They also support first aid. And they get quickly around the traffic even in long stretchs of traffic jam.
the high flow water systems are used for industrial - refinery fires. The fire ball extinguisher is kind of neat but its not UL rated and if used on a fire and doesnt put it out the insurance companies might not cover you

We stopped a barn fire with o e UHP system on pur command vehicle and had it knocked down and under control before our engine arrived on scene. We run 20 gal a min at 1200psi . Literally no water damage and o e firefighter can run the nozzle
on the fire motorcycle , you can use a honda goldwing , it would have enough room for the water tank and hose line and room enough for a airpack rack behind the driver

The fire was so big the schools were canceled and the village of told not to use water period colon has a good size fire department. But we have no letter trucks their truck was Leonidas 7 miles away Sturgis 15 miles
The robot would be great for hay bales. I think there are very few water sources in Chesco that could handle the Hytrans. I suspect that many of the static sources would be depleted pretty quickly at 14000 GPM.
FDNY use to have a truck called a "super pumper" I believe was on an 18 wheeler style truck, would go to river and pump from there, I forget what the need was for it, but was pretty neat to see.
The hydro trans system could be used for industrial purposes ie a refinery or chemical complex if you have a river, lake or pond nearby. You say you need tanker taskforce this could eliminate that. I have watched videos from Europe showing these in action. Some are quite a distance away. So it might be a good thing. The monitor if you had a refinery tank complex it would be used to deliver a large quantity of foam or cooling water to a tank farm fire. Just my take on this. Don't knock it till you try it.
Load up a drone with extinguisher balls, fly it over traffic and dive bomb the car fire. I also think it would interesting for traffic apps such as waze if they could clear a fire truck route. Basically try to route traffic away from the fire and warn drivers before the truck is even in sight that they need to pull over.

These systems are very common in Europe. We have them in the UK too. You can change which modules you put on the vehicles.

Hytrans pumps are given out by the government in the U.K. every service has at least one truck with a hytrans pump and hose lay module.
Check out NJ and VA, I believe then have pod systems designed for this kind of flow. Also commonly used for industrial facility fires.

The robot would be great for hay bales. I think there are very few water sources in Chesco that could handle the Hytrans. I suspect that many of the static sources would be depleted pretty quickly at 14000 GPM.

FDNY use to have a truck called a "super pumper" I believe was on an 18 wheeler style truck, would go to river and pump from there, I forget what the need was for it, but was pretty neat to see.

The hydro trans system could be used for industrial purposes ie a refinery or chemical complex if you have a river, lake or pond nearby. You say you need tanker taskforce this could eliminate that. I have watched videos from Europe showing these in action. Some are quite a distance away. So it might be a good thing. The monitor if you had a refinery tank complex it would be used to deliver a large quantity of foam or cooling water to a tank farm fire. Just my take on this. Don't knock it till you try it.
Load up a drone with extinguisher balls, fly it over traffic and dive bomb the car fire. I also think it would interesting for traffic apps such as waze if they could clear a fire truck route. Basically try to route traffic away from the fire and warn drivers before the truck is even in sight that they need to pull over.

Also a fire department here in my town actually have a drone for search and rescue. It has a camera as well as heat detector etc. It has been used so far as I know one time for a search and rescue and located the victim with it by the heat detector.
