  • This debate is about as old as all-wheel drive itself and one that’s sure to stick around as electrification becomes the new normal. Is the extra traction with AWD explicitly necessary, or have we become brainwashed by the peace of mind it provides, particularly in winter weather? To find out, Dan travels to Sweden to see if the rear-wheel-drive Volvo EX30 has the chops to make it through winter.

    Technically, no as even driving on FWD as long as you have proper winter tires will get you where you need to go. However, if you are doing some light off roading or driving on hills and inclines and deeper snow, then having AWD on winter tires is definitely more beneficial and advantageous!

    Get off the plowed section into the snow and tell us how great/un-required awd is.

      Sorry, but all-wheel drive isn't going to help claw through snow past the rocker panels! Thanks for watching!

    people who buy these dont care about range lol. i bought the model y performance for speed and practicality. why do you need long range? anyone ever heard of a plane??
    but this will not sell, wayyyyyyy over priced.
