- With a growing number of international students coming to Maastricht, housing is increasingly difficult to secure. This video interviews students on their experiences in searching for housing in Maastricht.
to find a place to live in Netherlands is a nightmare, not only in Maastricht and not only students are affected, anyone
Then smarten up go ela where Full is Full
Spoken like a true racist neanderthal. Oh sorry i meant dutch.
Do not encourage students to your country if you cannot house them. It is greed on behalf of the universities.
Here in South Australia we have specially build student accommodation..for many overseas students..
I was born in Maastricht my family have lived there since 1770..
However i reside between New Zealand/Australia..
@aena
My children did the following
B.A. LLB Hons
B.Com.-B Econ
My children did these degrees through Adelaide University.
Many years at uni because of the double degrees.
My son did B.Econ but became financial journalist working for a major financial times.
Remember if you are a foreign student expect to pay overseas fees..
"Covid has stopped students and foreigners to Australia and New Zealand"
Wish you all the best with your studies.
Its is written into the law that the universities have no responsibility for the students accommodation. Further the law essentially requires huge expansions in student numbers.
Omggg yaaass!! I support the cause. #BetterHousingInMaastricht #WeAreNotRefugees
Hey I'm a student currently in my final year of high school and I'm thinking of applying to Maastricht for uni. Do you have an email or something I can contact you on for questions? That'd be great thanks
very real issue.. with so many scams..
A very informative video! I hope this video will pre-empt future students, and that it'd spark some change to help improve the whole experience for everyone. Love what you're doing!
Thanks Samantha 😃
Finding a home in Maastricht is not only about students, I am an expat non-EU, Many of the nights, it was my nightmare, it is like you are applying a job, you have to write a statement and show your income-Work contract and your income have to be x3, x4 times more than the rental amount..
İt tooks almost 3 months for me to find my dream home!
That's shit... Then let's not even consider the Netherlands at all for education if the government and institutions don't even have the gumption or initiatives to put student housing as the top priority.
And don't even talk about the fact that if you are out of the EU u need to pay almost 10.000€ pero year in your career!
Yes, everything in life should be free. Free money for everyone!
@@wrnrt yes
Where are you from Emily? You sound South African
What are you studying? I've been researchig a lot about universities everywhere around europe and I found that Maastricht University might be what I'm looking for. I still have two years until I actually decide though. Great video!
Would you recommend the school though?
Yes, I have found the uni to be very good and I love studying here :)
I tried to find a room via fb group but because I could not be in town until late august to actually view them, I opted for the guesthouse that is more expensive that I initially tought spending but at least I’m not homeless, finger crossed!😓🤞🏼
Miss Marie what is the guest house like?
John Deason its nice, already with forniture (washing mashine and drier included) and expensens (water/electricity) included. A little bit more expensive of what I initially was looking for but generally i’m happy about it!😊
John Deason and you can choose to have a studio or to share with some other people, I share the kitchen with other 3 and the bathroom with 1 person!😜
Not bad
@@Ariam89NY hey! How much exactly did you have to pay for the Student guesthouse? I’m planning on studying there next year and it would be nice to know more specific details!
you have special way to show us things keep move forward
Couldn’t be worst than Dublin surely?
Irish (Galway) living in Maastricht. I compared price and quality to Dublin (Trinity). What I would pay for a bunkbed in a 3 bedroom house with 12 people in Dublin = my new studio here. Just my personal experience.
@@bubblegumpop62 what the netherlands is much cheaper than ireland no?
Dublin is the capital so it would be far mor expensive than Maastricht
