      @@farishcakescreations4933 I'm not sure if I'm understanding your question so apologies.... but once you've added your cmc, theres no need to keep adding more, it will only make it too dry. Just make your model or embellishment and use icing sugar, if you need to roll it out or if it is sticky. Yes you can add shortening to avoid cracking. Hope that helps? Xx

    Thank am on the right time and Very helpful video!!!!I have few questions kindly help me. How much do l put on a 1kg fondant?After adding CMC in fondant how does it take to dry after placed/covered on a cake before l deliver it to my customers?

    • @MysteryBaker
      @MysteryBaker  3 роки тому +1

      I'd suggest between 3 to 4 teaspoons of CMC/Tylose Powder to 1kg. Once you've added powder, work quickly if you're covering a cake, as it will start drying. So get the fondant on the cake as quickly as you can. It will take around 6 hours to become hard. So I would allow cake to dry overnight before delivering to customer. Hope that helps. 🎂❤

      MysteryBaker We bakers must stick together. My grandparents owned small neighborhood bakeries starting back in the 1920s. Grandmother taught me much of what I know. Many many years ago now. Good memories. Most of my baking is for adult kids & grandkids now ((the BESTEST kind)) 🥰🤗❣️

It's great to have you join me. I'm thinking of doing a LIVE video and I'm hoping to ask people what got them into baking and/or cake decorating and have a nice baking discussion. Mam just wana ask you after using cmc to fondant the fondant topper where has to store chiller or ac room or non ac room and after covering the cake with fondant how to store the cake without sweating bcoz my place is a bit hot plz plz mam help me

    • @MysteryBaker
      @MysteryBaker  4 роки тому +1

      In reply to your first question regarding fondant topper - I'd suggest that you allow them to dry naturally in the coolest part of your home and try to avoid refrigerating them if the air is humid, simply because when you remove from the fridge, they may sweat due to humidity. As for cake sweating - take a look at my video which tells you how to prevent cake condensation in humid climates ua-cam.com/video/5Gxe_Fp-xkM/v-deo.html

    Hi
    I also use Tasco fondant for covering the cake but always my fondant break
    Please help me
    Can I use cmc powder?

    • @MysteryBaker
      @MysteryBaker  4 роки тому +2

      No, using CMC, would make the fondant too hard. What I would suggest instead, is to firstly reduce the amount of icing sugar you use,when rolling out the fondant (as too much can dry it out) and finally work quickly, the longer you take to roll out fondant, the more chance of the fondant drying out. Hope that helps? Xx

    • @MysteryBaker

      If you add half teaspoon of CMC powder to 5 tablespoons of water. . Stir and leave for 30 minutes, it will make an excellent edible glue for fondant. A little goes a long way. Hope that helps? X

      MysteryBaker thanks, l agree with you! I’m not entirely sure what the feel should like as l’ve never used ready made gumpaste...l found mine a bit too dry/ stiff but then when l added more fondant it was to limp?

    • @MysteryBaker
      @MysteryBaker  5 років тому

      @@jotibhalla527 Youre looking for a firmer texture but still malleable. For a ping pong ball size of fondant I'd use a quarter of a teaspoon. Knead it then cover it in cling film for a few minutes and then you're ready to go. The more you get used to using it the better you will become at gauging quantities of CMC to fondant. Good luck and if you have any more questions please feel free to ask xx

    • @MysteryBaker

      Personally if you're going to be working slow, I'd add only 2 to 2.5 level teaspoons, as it will harden quickly if you add 4 tsp. X
