I literally actually tried putting all my vive dongles on a USB hub on my vive pro and it made it noticably worse... Not better, but spacing it out definitely helped! Awesome and informative video.
Wow, thank you so much. I had the same issue. My mistake was having the dongles too close to the PC. Thank you for creating this video. If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t have fixed this technical problem I was having with my yt videos and playing vr too. Thanks!❤😊
Thank you for the video - I was pulling my hair out as I recently bought new vive trackers and they kept drifting. I was blaming the position of my lighthouses but this wasn't the case. I removed all three dongles from the USB ports directly and put them in their USB cradles and scattered them around and now my trackers work flawlessly.
Awhile back I ordered 2 trackers, after plugging the dongles into the cradles, it didn't work. It turns out there is glue covering the pins on BOTH cradles of the trackers I ordered.
Hey! So I’ve recently got trackers about 2-3 months ago? They’ve been doing.. okay? But the hip tracker just wants to jump around a lot, like when I swing my arm past just ever so slightly, it’ll lose tracking, I have 2 base stations but one is in the corner of my room, and the other is like, sorta? I have a bed in the way so it’s a bit harder to track with the bed. Any tips on that?
Would this also work for my valve index controllers? The usbs are currently hugging each other and my controllers keep flying off (im using the steamvr usbs that tundra labs sells as my controllers cant connect to my quest 2)
Sorry i'm very late to this video but I'm desperate to find out how to fix my stupid tracking issues. I just put in an order on amazon for a USB extension cord for the dongle I'm using now, but I also use tundra trackers with the sw3 dongle, except I only have 2 trackers connected to the big sw3 one and a separate dongle for the hip tracker because the sw3 sucks when 3 things are connected to it. But basically all I have to do to fix my tracking issues is apparently just move my singular hip dongle away from my PC and face it outwards towards my play space?
you think it wouldnt be that hard as the vive trackers are just a controller in another shape, if it works flawlessly then why is the vive tracker having issues
I have started having this problem since I formatted my computer from scratch. When I'm playing a game for about two hours (vrchat for example), one of my live trackers loses tracking and SteamVR continues to show its icon but it's blinking, like if telling me that it doesn't have tracking, but it stills on. The only way to get it to work again is to restart my computer, so this seems very strange to me and I don't know what else to do. Things I tried: reinstall steamvr and steam disconnect all vr devices and reconnect them reinstalled the usb drivers using SteamVR, it didn't work either recalibrate the tracker that has the problem when this happens (which makes things worse, because somehow the problem ends up being passed to another tracker and it does not give good results) To keep in mind: When Windows was installing all the VR drivers for the first time, at some point I had received a notification windows error with the update or isntall of one of the devices, I have the feeling that the error is there and it was some kind of vive tracker driver. So the only thing I can think of is to reinstall the drivers from scratch, but I don't know how to do that. I just don't know anymore, i would appreciate any help
can i just neatly separate the dongles and rest them on my desk? cus i had them like sort of behind/on the side of my PC but now i placed them on my desk separated by a few inches
I have the same problem but with tundra trackers (so the dongles shouldn’t be an issue) paired with the oculus quest 2 and yet I’m still having problems with either a singular tracker disappearing or just flying away
hey my htc vive controllers keep loosing track like the one of the controllers just flies off and when i shake the controller it fixes it for a little bit any help?
Can confirm, i have a 7 port powered USB hub that i've placed ontop of a shelf where its visible from my playspace. And i use every other port on it, so that they have spacing in between them. (i didn't have problems before, but tacking got better). One problem i have is that the left foot tracker, always thinks its 3-4 cm heigher than normal, making my left leg look like i'm stepping on something.
@@thatstotallycapman Ah, the problem is elsewhere. I tried to debug it using the lighthouse console and test each of the trackers, no issues there.(As they connect with cable directly for this test) Then i tried to re-pair everything and do room setup. I noticed that another tracker started to loose tracking now, but the one i had problems with stopped.. I then did the re-pairing again, but this time i plug in 1 dongle, pair 1 tracker. Still the same problem. Then i did it again, but with different order of the dongles and my issue moved to another tracker. It turns out one of the dongles is the problem. I tried different usb port, i tried to use the cable extender and put it in different locations. I even put the dongle in the index trunk usb port. nothing helped. All of the trackers work perfectly, but one of the dongles seems to gone bad. I also noticed that the dongle was getting super hot, almost of burning me. But i haven't had the time to contact HTC about it. I have 4 trackers, using one as the chest, but for now i'm not using the chest one. I would get a new dongle, but man 50 euro for a usb Bluetooth device....
If you don't understand, i really dont know what to tell you. He told you what to do in the last comment you posted. Take each vive tracker dongle and space them out...Also, move them far away from your computer and any wires..Making sure there are no obstructions between your dongles and your trackers.
I've been having issues with my vive trackers and been fighting with them for 2 weeks now, I'm using a quest 2 with pcvr and my hip tracker will just shit the bed, even in plain view of both base stations I've drilled many holes in my bedroom walls thinking it was my base stations. I never even comment on youtube videos. I am so utterly frustrated by what is happening because if this is true that means my gaming setup in the other room somehow has to have dongles connected to it in a completely separate room. Or I will need to move my headset to my gaming room along with my base stations which is no where near a comfy bed. I truly thought this would be an easier experience god I was so wrong
You might want to try something like the HaritoraX or Slime VR. IMU trackers pair better with a quest than Vive trackers currently. But that is going to change soon with Vives new trackers that will use the same system as the quest for tracking.

any luck on this, i cant seem to find anyone else with this problem
If this actually works, you’ll get a new sub from me. I’ve been searching for a solution like this for about 1 year.

I cant separate them without extensions but i also cant afford to waste money on stuff that possibly wont work

The seems like the controllers is losing tracking and assuming it's still moving. How are your base stations set up?
What usb hub do you have?
i pray this works, i had all 3 dongles practically touching eachother on a small hub, just ordered some extensions i hope it works

Right on the money
NO WONDER WHY MY TUNDRA SW3 DONGLE WORKED BETTER IN MY INDEX! THAT IS *SO* STUPID 😭
It just happened to me today I don’t know what to do lmao
Try to keep your revivers separated and pointed at the play space. Personally I have found that having them further from the PC actually helps as well
@@greaterthanpie what are revivers
@@Bloodyaxel sorry autocorrect receivers. For your trackers
@@greaterthanpie I only have a hub I don’t have the receivers
