I live in a world where my weird character is on a video with Klaus and Hair Love, this is odd man. Joking aside, thanks for having me on, this was cool to watch.
@@ToonBoomAnimation thanks for the info, I am actually doing my animation thesis with toonboom harmony, when I finish I will send them to you, thanks mike
I remember first discovering this program back in 2015 and being amazed at how powerful it was, it was still early days and I remember introducing my univeristy lecturers to it! Now they actually teach it at said uni! I'm so glad more and more people/studios are using this software and realising just how darn good it is! And with it constantly updating and improving it's only becoming even more powerful and man am I glad I found out about toon boom when I did because it sure changed up my whole animation process for the better aha
Those three -- Klaus, Hair Love and Spring Herald --- all look good. A lot of the other stuff is kind of underwhelming. Just goes to show that it's not the software , it's the artists who use the software.
I don't know much, but it looked to me like a lot of these reels are using the cut-out/rigged doll features. How is this program for just straight draw frame-by-frame animation? The paperless animation. Can anyone tell me if it is worth it if that is all you want it for?
I love animation I use the sims 4 to create films and series but I wanna learn a new software I have scripts I have written that I wanna use a new software for
Warner Bros. Animation can be kind of stingy about allowing their sub-contractors to take credit. WBA probably wouldn't grant permission to use clips from GEAH.

I personally think that good 2D animation is way better than 3D, and it always pisses me off that there are so few 2D animation programs out there, there are a lot only for 3D... So I'm pretty sure I'm going to buy this program soon :D Ps. 0:09 O MY GOD "Klaus" was made with ToonBoom? Okay now I'm impressed! And wait, what about "Spiderman into the Spider-Verse"? I mean, those movies looks really similar to each other...
Spider-verse was 3D-animated, Klaus 2D. Spider-verse was altered to look more 2D, specifically like a comic book, and Klaus was Shaded to look 3D. Two very different approaches with not so similar results. But it really shows that one could animate something like Klaus in ToonBoom. I came here to check out the capabilities of the program and they seem to be pretty high.
Can I ask something? Will there be a android version of toon boom? (for ios too) (of course tablet, but it would be even better for smartphone) Since they are getting more and more powerful, their screen is enough big. It can be for free (trial) and paid (advanced and premium). Porting the whole software won't be so hard if you get a team that will do so.
Seems unlikely. You need a powerful computer with a fast processor and lot of RAM for Harmony to run smoothly. Tablets don't have the power to run production software.
Creative choices are made by people. It is worth keeping in mind that even productions that you might not care for involve significant craft, labor and coordination. -Mike
@@ToonBoomAnimation Family Guy is worth Billions. I came to this video to find out that ToonBoom isn't some polished GoAnimate substitute. Family Guy has access to "significant craft, labor and coordination". The creative choices just aren't made by people who want Family Guy to be outstanding, artistic or interesting because that would turn off all those plebs who have no appreciation for good animation in the first place and watch Family Guy solely for the low quality humor. Again, it's the industry. Not the artist or the tools.
Thank you for bringing animators out the Flash dark ages and into the Renaissance with in-betweens and such.
Haha flash darkages
The story matters, programs are tools
maxmagnus777 viewers don’t care about your stories when the animation is horrendous.
@@dwainehiggins4451 Dwarf fortress would disagree. Also kids cartoons.
@@dwainehiggins4451 Ah yes and season 1-20 of South Park might have a say in it.
It’s kind of unreal to me to see my animation actually on the demo reel! I’m really happy and I love everyone else’s too! It looks great!

GOOD WORK

Rise of the TMNT and Klaus?! Aw heck yeah.
So inspiring to see all the different styles being created with this software! I'm a TVPaint guy, but definitely interested in giving Toon Boom a try.
Awesome! I like the variety of quality and styles in the reel! Thats how it should looks like! Its for everyone! :) Well done! :)
Thanks Adrian, we appreciate that! -Mike
This compilation actually introduced me to Rottmnt. Thanks, Toon Boom.
*Wonderful!*
What does it take to be part the reel? ... Is it necessary to be part of a house production ? ... Thank you, i love toonboom ❤️
You may get featured in next year's showreel by making something cool and letting us know that it was made using our software. -Mike

Looking awesome! :D I'm putting together a short film in TB right now!
Am I the only one who think this is surprisingly harder to master than 3D?
I really like rise of the tmnts animation
One of my shots made it in! Hooray! :D
Some of the animations in this video look very hand drawn!
That's because some of the animation on the reel IS hand drawn. 'Klaus' for one example. That Cal Arts student film 'Spring Herald' is another.
Bruh this is better than adobe animate
Как же круто)
never knew malaysian company using this software.. love it
You KNOW its good if Rick and morty uses it

Why doesn't toonboom harmony 21 support amd ryzen cpus yet ?
I wish it would say, in the textbar, what software was used for each clip.
I know right ...
Pretty sure most of them were animated in Toon Boom Harmony, because that's the reason why they were featured in the demo reel.

Yes. They have said so publicly in an interview. -Mike www.animationmagazine.net/streaming/green-eggs-and-ham-a-newish-odd-couple-on-the-road/
