Marco Luciano is 22 years old, and has 21 MLB games under his belt. It is ridiculous to nitpick his play; the first caller nailed it.
Sorry, but look up baseball reference and you'll see that he's played years at that position. The mistakes he's making is fundamental.
@@scarface910I think the point he's making is that he has only been in the majors for a short time and doesn't want to make a mistake and it's in his head still. He doesn't want to get sent back down. Once he becomes confident he's here to stay he can relax. He's 22 and he has star potential. The Giants are winning let him work through it
@@scarface910 so has Kyle Harrison, or Keaton Winn, or Luis Matos, or Heliot Ramos, or any of the vets... they all make mistakes. Working through them and staying consistent/improving is what baseball is about, not being a 5-tool star at 22
@@stanford4289 I just don’t see “star potential”. His minor league career numbers don’t scream star potential. I got nothing against the guy, I hope he becomes great. I just don’t see anything in his past to warrant the expectation that he will be anything other than what he has always been…a ok player.
Luciano is either going to be the everyday shortstop or you trade him. Quit doing half ass player development or give the kid a chance to play for another team

This Giants team doesn't give a rip they just want to go home with a W. Most of these guys only learned to play baseball a couple weeks ago. In April Casali was playing SS in the Panamanian League

SS isn’t a position you can hide a guy. Is his bat worth moving to another position? He’s not gonna out hit Matos, Ramos, or Conforto. He likely would be around Yaz level production. But Yaz plays great outfield. Would Wisely be a better choice going forward? I’m guessing it’s Ahmed’s job for as long as they are in contention this year. Luciano either needs to become a way better SS, or start hitting .300 w, 20 bombs.
