One time my mom asked my homophobic aunt if she chooses to be straight. My aunt said "yes, I choose to be straight everyday." This in combination of a pan ex-mormon youtuber describing how he once assumed being gay was a choice because he could conceive of being attracted to men, makes me believe a lot of people who think sexuality is a choice are mostly people who are some variant of multisexual (bi, pan, queer, etc.) but are convinced everyone experiences attraction to multiple genders and most people just suppress certain sides of their sexuality
My little sister is trans so as a cis gay man, I wear a pride pin and trans pin (in support of my sister) and I’ve been purposefully called a woman because of it even though I was born with a penis and do not look like a woman at all, beard etc. It baffles me when people go out of their way to be assholes for no reason. Also kissed my husband on the cheek once when we were parting ways in a shopping centre to get different things from different stores. Literally something I didn’t even think about, it wasn’t even a make out or anything just on the cheek and had a Karen have a go at me because “there are children around and they shouldn’t have to see that” Turned round and said, “Lady, we are married and I can kiss my husband if I want to.” And she called security on me for “abusive behaviour” lol I couldn’t stop laughing My husband kept calling me his little criminal lol
Aw! Gosh. I wish I had a supportive brother like you! And I'm mad at that Karen. She got mad over a couple doing the same thing straight couples do in public all the time, and some straight couples go over-the-top, especially at my university💀 If I had one wish I would remove all LGBTphobia from the world. I have no hope of coming out being from a devout catholic family, and I can't trust anybody (they WILL out me which will end in disaster). Hopefully one day I can move to the UK or US where I can be my authentic self. Wishing you and your family all the best!
@@SukunaYaoi you’d be surprised at how often it happens. People see the trans flag or the pride flag and flip. I am a teacher and the amount of times parents have called me Mrs [last name] You can not believe it if you want, it doesn’t matter to me lol My twin brother has had it done to him too once but not as often as he’s not allowed to wear pins for his job.
@@JamieJMarie hopefully one day you’re able to be yourself! I was born in rural texas so even though I have a supportive family, I was bullied a lot growing up. Now I’ve lived everywhere pretty much and I couldn’t be happier. If you don’t mind me asking where about are you from? Country-wise?

@andreatomasi3755 I know that you said this was a joke, but as a straight man, I choose to be offended by this. You will be hearing from my lawyers very soon. P.p.s. This was also a joke. Please don't hurt me 🙏
@@mp5enthusiast a straight person telling a bisexual that their heterophobic joke is offensive?!?!! HOW DARE YOU?!?!!??!! I WILL HAVE YOU CANCELLED. P.s. this is a joke. You are funny
i think the reason why straight people will ask things like “how can a (insert young age) kid be gay/trans?’ is bc they believe being queer is inherently sexual but being cishet isn’t
Yep. People even manage to sexualize asexuality. I had someone get extremely concerned I was "allowed" to work with children because I'm ace. So sexual attraction is necessary to be around kids? Uhhhhh WTF???
Whenever someone asks that, I say "How was I straight/cis at 4?" Cis at 4, they usually shut up unless they just come back with some blatant transphobia, but sometimes they do ask how I was straight at 4. Then I tell them kids have innocent crushes and if they're automatically thinking about sex when it comes to kids experiencing attraction to any gender at a young age, that's a them problem. Then they shut up.
They don't view being straight as a sexuality, they view it as nature. They view other sexualities as divants on not nature even tho even in the animal kingdom different sexualities and genders exist. But once science and the animal kingdom doesn't align with theirs it can't be right. Homophobos in a nut
Over two decades ago, I asserted as much. I wasn't sure why, but it felt wrong back then too, I just didn't understand the distinction. I was and am an idiot, but I think I figured out why that was a dumb thing to assert. Edit: when did the Nineties get so far away?! Added another decade. I'm so grateful that I have learned since that people are people and deserve love.
@kanye_north11 Mostly to differentiate between "The Cis™" being a certain brand of teamsphobe as opposed to just any cis person since cis people aren't all terrible people. Just like "The Straights™"
So something I figured out, and it's pretty crazy: I don't get called homophobic even though I'm as straight as these people, because I have common decency when talking to people. Absolutely wild concept, right?
I’ll never understand that. Just look at literal babies clothes, with onesies for boys that say “I love boobs” or some other creepy shit, because THAT is apparently okay.
It’s hilarious how little people seem to understand that you can VERY MUCH be sure that a kid is gay at 11, my parents knew my cousin was gay from the moment he was born. XD
istg when i was 4 or 5 i was being informed by my mom that 2 men can get married, and i said "I want to marry a man"... i think i predicted the future because i really do wanna marry one....
I've only seen photos of the person refusing the rainbow steps, and that video is such a treat. I've never seen someone so fragile that they'd rather look like an infant learning to move about the world than simply walk up some colorful stairs.
I'm not sure if he thinks he'll "catch" gay if he goes up the rainbow steps or if he thinks the stair choice is tantamount to making a declaration of his identity/orientation. On the plus side, though, he's getting a mini workout in, so there's that.
The city I live in had the university paint some downtown crosswalks rainbow colors- I haven't seen it but I pRAY there are people who just step into the road to avoid it
What cracks me up is the person walking on the rainbow steps who looks over at the idiot. They must be thinking like WTF are they doing! 😂 Could you imagine seeing that in real life…
I personally like The Click’s theory on why people think being gay is a choice: that the people spouting this belief are bisexual and have themselves chosen “not to be gay” and so therefore think that’s how everyone else thinks as well.
I have a similar theory about people that claim that "conversion therapy" worked for them. "I'm now happily married to a woman and we have 3 kids" - probably a bi man and could always have had a happy relationship with a woman (or massive internalised homophobia/denial, similar to when being gay was illegal).
I also think they could be ace because before I figured that out about myself, I would "choose" to find someone attractive, and legit thought that everyone worked like that
“I can’t say anything without being called ‘homophobic’” is such a weird hill to die on, because it’s just a way to say “my vocabulary is so filled with homophobic language and I use it so frequently, that I literally can’t speak without slipping back into it”
It's like someone claiming that women can't experience sexual pleasure because none of the women they've ever had sexual contact with has experienced it.
5:17 mhm, I 100% chose to be made fun of in school and have straight men violate my very clear boundaries just because I’m a lesbian. I definitely wanted this and thought it was a super cool trend to be an ace lesbian. I totally have not been told to kms because of my sexuality. I totally wanted adults to tell me(13) to kms. Totally my intention.
@@marvelous971-j6m Thankyou, the actual comment telling me to kill myself, and then telling me I’d probably be incompetent at that as well was a while ago, and I haven’t payed it much thought since then:)
The ONLY thing I CHOSE to do was FINALLY accept who I really am inside, being honest with myself and moving forward from there. I chose to stop hiding and keeping my mouth shut. I chose to embrace what was there, all along.
THIS. When they tell you its a choice, they really mean "this is inconvenient for me, so please hide what you are and choose to have a miserable life in the closet". I am glad you chose to be happy and in peace with yourself instead
@@arona6692 Thank you and I'm just simply baffled by this. What compels someone to tell another to suppress their way of life? Where's the threat? It's so odd 😕
@@Roman_Adrian I think those people only think in arbitrary "right"/ "wrong" and never in what makes you happy, because apparently in their mind doing the "right" thing can never be easy ig, so they are miserable too. Now you are the perfect example of how and why their system sucks : your way of life makes you happier, freer, and you don't hurt anyone so its not "wrong". So now if they acknowledge you they have to realize that their struggles to conform to their ridiculous values are useless and meaningless,.
@Ville this is the third comment I've seen from you saying the exact same thing. The fact that you're not saying anything else kind of ruins your argument.
11:15 something that really relieved my bottom dysphoria was my cishet dad telling me that every guy comfortable with their masculinity will sit to pee at times because it's easier and is proved to be better for you (i forgor why). So as a transmasc enby, it's alot easier to use the bathroom without dysphoria.
It could be because men who don't sit to pee are less likely to poop often enough for their bowel health. You should be pooping 2-3 time a day (after every meal) but most men will force themselves to only poop once, and then wonder why they are constipated all the time (taking half an hour to poop is not healthy).
@SevCaswell this isn't true for everyone. From what I've read from reliable medical websites, it ranges anywhere from from once a day to every couple of days. Maybe that also includes several times a day for some people, but the idea that you NEED to be pooping several times a day and after every meal like clockwork and if you aren't something is wrong is something I have not heard of. Do you have any info or reliable sources that talk about this?
Bare minimum, pee +poop is always a sitting pee. Would be weird for a guy to use urinal then go use toilet. But guy who pees in stall will be assumed to have a possible wet fart being held back and is Mr play it safe
It's also quieter. And less cleaning the bathroom per week. And in the middle of the night, I'm not going to turn on the light and put in my contact lenses to see well enough to aim standing up.
I definitely didn't choose to feel like a failure and a disappointment to my parents for not wanting a partner or children. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜 Have a great day, everyone! Platonic aroace love for everyone!
@@weirdo00001 Nah they're an ignorant jerk who doesn't listen to actual reason. Though the fact that they think it's a choice is just their Bi coming out story I guess
Literally every time I hear someone saying that "being gay is a choice", I have to think of them as being bi and "choosing" to be straight bc they can't admit it. I don't have another explanation
It's the only logical conclusion a rational minded person could reach. I once said this to a religion fanatic who said gay, bi etc was a choice and after I did, he began to explore his bi side and eventually he realised that he wasn't particularly attracted to women
The whole thing about “kids can’t know if they’re LGBTQ+” also perpetuates the idea that being queer is inherently sexual. Like, a kid having a straight crush would be fine and innocent but a kid having a gay crush would be wayyy too sexual for a child
my mom said she started having suspicions about me being lgbt when i was 4. it wasn’t even about crushes or anything. she just saw that i wasn’t like other girls

I am a super fair skinned white woman who lives in a predominantly black neighborhood. Most of my neighbors know me and know that I am cool and friendly with everyone. But when new people move in and see me walking my dog, it often takes a few hellos from me for them to see that I am not going to cause them any issues. They aren't being phobic of any type, they just don't know me, and don't know what my beliefs are. I just say "hi" to everyone and eventually they start to say Hi to me first. The problem with these particular straights saying that there is straight phobia, is that they are clearly homophobic. Therefore, the LGBTQIA+ community is going to avoid them like the plague. On the other hand, I have had a lot of gay and trans friends, so the LGBTQI+ community isn't going to be afraid of me. I may have had other friends who are part of the LGBTQI+ community, but unless they volunteer the information I don't ask. It is up to others to share that kind of information and not me to go prying.
There's a white lady in my (Black) neighborhood like this lol. Just continuously friendly and helpful until people realized she was chillin and accepted her in

In my school, we painted the side steps outside the building in rainbow and loads of the lads were going under the railing to walk on the grass hill right next to it because “they didn’t want to turn gay”. 4:24 Barbara Coloroso, an author (& former Franciscan nun) who writes and speaks about parenting and bullying, said in an anti-bullying summit here in Vancouver "intolerance, bigotry & hatred cloaked in the garb of religion is *still* intolerance, bigotry & hatred." She also said something about the act of dehumanizing those who are different "it's about making somebody into an *"it"* and once you're an *"it"* to me, I can do anything to you." In saying that, she mentioned the Holocaust & the Rwandan genocide. It’s astounding what humans are capable of and how many atrocities are born from a hatred of the *"other."*

The character headcannon ones annoy me. There are a lot of characters who aren’t technically confirmed as straight. Those types of people who complain so much about LGBT+ headcannons just see it as ‘they’re not confirmed as not straight so they’re automatically straight’.
my partner for years before meeting me just headcannoned every character as bisexual unless their orientation was explicitly stated and tbh i can get behind this way of thinking
I had one of my homophobic college humanities classmates say that we should discuss how "men don't have enough rights" and then refused to debate me when I said ok then let's talk about actual minorities and how they actually don't have as many rights.
The problem with the MRA and MGTOW crowds is that yes, there are legitimate issues that specifically affect men, but they're completely ignoring those in favor of a persecution complex to justify their own sexism. Patriarchal values, for example, do harm men as well because they set unrealistic expectations while taking away the tools men need to deal with their emotions in a healthy manner. There's a discussion to be had about this, but it can't start with the assumption that, "Women gaining rights takes rights away from men."
"men don't have enough rights, they don't have the right to molest people, they aren't entitled to having a partner who let's them do whatever how unfair :(" like what???? what do guys have to be upset about, that they can't get fucking laid ? there are worse issues in the world, get over yourself.
I couldn't accept being gay as a teenager and "chose" to be straight, and guess what happened: over the course of 10 years I developed massive psychological and emotional problems and almost killed myself in the end. After I accepted that I was gay, these problems slowly dissipated and today, almost 11 years later, I am happy to be alive and happy to be gay.
The thing I find funny is the one where the person changed the name of bin on their desktop to LGBT is that they have riot games installed, riot games runs valorant. And valorant has gay people in it.
The video of the guy struggling to get up the grey stairs will never fail to make me laugh. He probably thought it was going to make him look so tough!
I sometimes really don't know what to make of my mom. On one hand she says that gay people are just people like anyone else, and then when my dad asks "how did she know he was gay?" she answers "you can (clearly) see it" and I'm like??? please don't tell me my mom is one of those "you don't look gay (enough)".... on one hand she's supportive (?) but still makes a certain distance, like saying "we" and "the others". As if sexuality is a club, and if you don't belong to the "norm" you're automatically that weird kid in class that's different
Omg, no bc my mom is exactly like that but worse- I came out to her three times. Last time she told me she hadn’t believed me bc I “didn’t look gay”. Mind you this is the same woman who won’t let me buy anything that makes me feel comfortable in my body or own anything at all with rainbows on it.

Same. I was so confused why gay people had sex growing up because I was raised under a religious rock and sex was apparently just for baby making. So I was really confused when people accidentally got pregnant. Apparently I'm just ace. Lol
I would like to point out that opening up about your identity is not _just_ scary with new cishet people, especially if you're identity is occasionally considered invalid by LGBTQ+ members (eg. acearo, pan, bi, genderfluid, bigender, any xenogender that wasn't made up to make fun of trans people etc.) My Ma is literally trans and I still didn't come out to her about being genderfluid for a WHILE, she figured out on her own from my pfp on my email (parental control app had it very big) I /still/ don't want her to use my chosen name or pronouns because I straight up don't like her and want my identity to be a precious thing between me and my closest friends (other strangers just get to know my "safe" nickname and base level pronouns) I was afraid because of prejudice in the LGBTQ+ community, regardless of her saying she doesn't care who her kids like or what they identify as, some people say that but don't /actually/ mean it as a broad statement. My main example of it is biphobia and poly stereotypes within the LGBTQ+ community (my Ma is lesbian and poly having a polycule of 4 people) Most of this is not that important but I mostly just wanted to point out my statement from the beginning, prejudice within the LGBTQ community is really sad and makes it way more isolating than normal for people with those identities because they feel as if they no longer have a safe space they can rely on and are completely alone. I sorta think it should be addressed a little more because it's a genuine issue. If you read through this ramble, congratulations, here's some cake 🎂 I got enough for everyone to share
Absolutely. Where I live it's changed a lot in the last 25 years though. But overall bigotry inside and between minorities/oppressed groups is super common as well as super sad. You'd think discriminated/oppressed people would understand not to do the same, but I do understand the reasons behind this. I mean reasons beyond the sad fact that being a minority or oppressed doesn't make you a good person 😑 As I said in the LGBTQ+ community it's so much better now than it used to be. But among and between ethnic and religious groups in my country it definitely isn't. There are some _incredibly_ intolerant people among them.

@@Spookatz. Let me correct myself: it exists but is a non problem, and eliminating bigotry prevents heterophobia from becoming a problem. Also straight and cis people have always had the power, I heavily doubt the hatred towards what will always be the majority is going to become a problem.
Well lets see - I have to believe a male having sex with another male is in a heterosexual relationship, if one of those males thinks they're a woman; or else I'm labeled "transphobic". So what exactly do you call it when you deny that opposite SEX attracted people exist? What exactly do you call it when saying you're an opposite SEX attracted person, somehow means you're "transphobic"?
On the "being gay is a choice" crowd and your supposition that they wouldn't be able to "choose" to be gay for a week: I truly believe that most of them are bisexual, without knowing that that isn't everyone's experience. And so they do kind of "choose" to be straight.
I have been accused of heterophobia in the past and it is a badge I wear with honor. Would y'all like to know what I was doing that was so discriminatory? My coworker was a creep who would not only sexually harass his female coworkers, but would flirt with customers in the drive thru, read their full names off their debit cards, and look them up on social media later. I tried to report him or request a different person to be scheduled to work with me, but management was complete garbage. So, I attempted to Pavlov him. I started pretending to crush on the same customers as him. Would shove him out of the drive thru window & be extra sweet with them. I'd give our coworkers he was harassing some emotional support & an ego boost. Before long, I became *very* popular with all the women he was harassing. He thought it was a hate crime against straight people that I would not let him "flirt" with any of these women. Because I wouldn't let him cyber-stalk them by reading private info & I would act as a bodyguard for my coworkers so he wouldn't try to stare at or take photos of their asses when they werent looking. (Which, yes, he did to a 17 year old once & management claimed they couldn't fire him because he could sue for wrongful termination.)

Could you make a video about tips for being trans during the summer? I’ve struggled to figure out how to stay flat while swimming…..idk if you have tips for this but maybe summer tips in general would be nice :)
You can try trans tape if you are not allergic to the glue they use. You can wear trans tape for swimming and exercising, it is waterproof and safe to do sports in.
Whatever method you use, be sure to be safe. When I was still in HS I used really crappy amazon cosplay binders. Nearly drowned because the water pressure made it that much harder to inhale, lol. I tend to stick to a sports bra's now because of that. It's not ideal, but neither is ripping off your binder at a public pool because you're drowning It can suck to not feel completely flat, but don't let that ruin a fun day of swimming :) This is temporary, so don't beat yourself up over it. Prioritize your safety, oh and STAY OUT OF THE DEEP END lol
Yeah, the logic of "How can an 11-year-old know he's gay?" or "She's never slept with a woman; how does she know if she's a lesbian or bi?" has always confused me. I'm straight; I had my first celebrity crush at 10 years old and started having sexual fantasies at around 14, both of which are years before the average person is sexually active. Do homophobic people just forget about their childhood crushes?
Best response would be "How can an 11-year-old boy know he's straight?". After all, if a kid can't know whether or not they're gay, how could they possibly know if they're straight? If they're reasonable, they'll recognize it's a good point for obvious reasons. If they're unreasonable, they'll just fully expose their homophobic.

I guess I’m heterophobic because I’m scared of encountering mean straight people. I have a former friend who tried to convince me to be straight (I’m bi) because she was worried for my salvation
i have a grandma who says being bisexual is a mental illness and an abomination (evangelicalism) and that bisexual people need to repent. she never backs down in an argument sadly so i lost that one because she just repeats herself thinking she has flawless facts.
Hey! Just wanted to say: about two days ago I came out to my mom as bisexual, and now everyone in my immediate family knows! I originally wanted to tell her first, but it didn’t go that way. Both of my parents are very conservative Christians, and they’ve discussed LGBTQ topics as a sin, or against God’s plan. I figured out I was bi when I went to my high school orientation and they were showing off the school cheer and dance teams, and I just saw the female dance team and was… very sure in that moment. I’d been questioning before but that moment made it very clear to me I was also attracted to girls. About a year later I told my younger siblings first, with my sister being very supportive and my brother constantly forgetting any time I mention something casually bi to him. Like, “hey, I think dad suspects that I’m bi.” “What’s bi?” “It means I like girls and guys and people who are both or neither.” “Ok.” And then it repeats. But anyways, I ended up telling my dad after getting into a fight with my mom and feeling more open with him. He’s definitely the more old-fashioned and while he was… supportive, per se, he was very adamant it’s likely a phase and on the topic of trans people, he keeps misgendering them purposely, but… I’ll keep talking to him about it. That was all last year, and two days ago I told my mom after having a breakdown in school and talking with the school social worker, confessing I’ve been feeling passive su*cidal thoughts. My mom ended up picking me up and we talked about that in the school social worker’s office, and on the drive home we had a sort of heart-to-heart and I worked up the courage to finally tell her. She’s been more accepting than I expected, though still insistent I not tell my younger siblings (in elementary school) about this, since apparently LGBTQ topics are too mature for them. Even though they’ve been the least problematic. She still thinks they don’t know I’m bi, which is fine, It’ll come up sooner or later. But I’ve been super excited because now I can tell the rest of my extended family (they’re not religious and are all accepting, but before I was afraid if I’d told them they would out me to my parents accidentally). On the straight and lgbt representation, I’d like to point out that often characters very rarely say “I’m straight” flat out. They are just assumed canonically straight because straight people are the default. I think I’ve only heard like one character actually say they were straight in a show. Headcanoning a character with no actual canon sexuality is ok. It’s normal, for a lot of lgbt people we don’t get the representation like straight people, we don’t get default, natural representation. The thousands of characters that just seem straight because their attraction is only brought up in the other gender doesn’t necessarily mean that they only like that gender. My personal example for a character like this is Bob from Bob’s Burgers, he seems straight, has a wife and kids, but he is bisexual. Often times our perceptions of sexuality in media is left to personal interpretation because creators are too scared to ever confirm anything.
Rei Daniels, exactly! People often think that characters must either be explicitly gay to be well, gay. But often times certain measures must be taken, so they end up seeming straight, which sort of furthers the whole “well lgbt people can head canon anyone!” when really a character has always been queer coded, but due to safety for the show, can not be confirmed :(
Meanwhile implying that all that people shpould have done to ejd the world (and plenty would love to) was to "choose" to be gay n marry each other to achieve their nefarious goal. If that's how it worked, then it must be an incredibly slow decline. Has noone told them about intercourse culture back in the times of Roman empire???
I mean of course! You do know that for every gay couple that gets married, two straight couples have to get a divorce? Our fullproof plan for world domination is almost complete! Btw, this is joke people XD
I had the most "head empty, dumb transgirl" moment recently where I realized that the man-boobs I've had for my entire life are now just a head-start on unhyphenated boobs, got a flash of gender euphoria, and just happily played with my boobs for a while. I swear between this and being the only autistic person in history who can't do math to save her life I'm transitioning into a ditz.
@Hermit Sage The real irony is that my dad, who would easily be diagnosed as autistic if he ever got tested, has a BS in mathematics alongside a Masters in Computer Science, is a former mathematics professor, and tries to find newer and more efficient ways to find various types of prime numbers for fun. Numbers are his favorite toys and somehow I'm deathly allergic to the things.

I had a non binary individual say to me that they would love to live in a community that was all lgbt+... it didn't make me feel discriminated against, it mad me sad that they didn't believe true acceptance/equality was possible any other way.
Would you consider it racist if a black person said they wanted to live in a black only community? Isn't that the same as what the non binary person said except its about race? I as a white man wouldn't personally feel offended by it but I would question their thought process.
@@SuperJJParker- If a white person can be allowed to want to live in a white-only city, why csnt a Back person want to live in a Black-only place? Like DayDreams said, the Enby would have felt safer in a LGBTQ-only city because they believe it's the only way to feel safe. And as another Enby, I feel the same way.
@SuperJJParker BIPOC people have been excluded from white spaces for a long time, using a variety of tools. Blame the disease (inequalities and discrimination), not the symptom (desiring a safe community).
@DayDreams of Green Design I'm not arguing that people have not been excluded from spaces before. Do you think its racist for people to say they want a community for only their race? Also are you saying that because people were excluded before that those excluded people should now be able to exclude others?

I love how much they have to put on this big act aswell. Like my dude really handed his phone to his friend, shook his head before making an exaggerated crawl up the blocks (or atleast I hope it was exaggerated or else dudes just pretty unfit for how he looks), just to make a point about not wanting to walk on coloured steps like a normal person.
5:22 - I am convinced that at least a substantial portion of the people who think “being gay is a choice” are just self-loathing closeted bisexuals, not everyone of course, but when you hear some folks describe it as: “I, like everyone else, struggles with those gay thoughts” and you’re like, my guy perhaps you should talk about it with a therapist about self-acceptance.
I thought I was straight. Then I found the true definition of asexual a couple years ago and oh... No, I've never been straight. All my struggles from childhood and my current relationship suddenly made a ton of sense. I _wish_ I was straight, things would be a lot easier... I recently saw someone describe their slightly-heteroromantic asexuality as "straight but really bad at it" and wow does that describe me to a T.
I saw a photo on my moms phone of a family under an umbrella while the rainbow was raining or something. She’s gonna be disappointed cuz a drop hit me.
3:45 That is an extremely recent edition based on a mistranslation from 1946. The actual verse has nothing to do with gay relationships as a whole. As for the question, "Why are kids too young to be gay when they're not too young to be straight?" I think it's because people see kids coming out during adolescence and think that's when it 'happens' to them; they assume they're finding out about it at the same time the kids are. The truth is that they already were, and they're just now telling you about it. The more vehemently you insist, "My child tells me EVERYTHING," the less true it likely is.
Found this bible verse the other day: "I grieve for you, Jonathan... you were very dear to me. Your love for me was wonderful, more wonderful than that of women." (2 Samuel 1:26 NIV) and, idk, sounds like King David was kinda gay/bi
My partner's dad once said "if you think being gay is a choice, you're a closeted bisexual, cause I KNOW I didn't choose to be straight."
Well, that the perfect answer.
Every accusation is a confession with people like that.

@Ville_x We found one.
@Ville how is it proved?

All the while they will put their infants in Federal Boobie Inspector or Lady's Man shirts and think it's perfectly innocent.
Yep. People even manage to sexualize asexuality. I had someone get extremely concerned I was "allowed" to work with children because I'm ace. So sexual attraction is necessary to be around kids? Uhhhhh WTF???
Whenever someone asks that, I say "How was I straight/cis at 4?"
Cis at 4, they usually shut up unless they just come back with some blatant transphobia, but sometimes they do ask how I was straight at 4.
I personally like The Click’s theory on why people think being gay is a choice: that the people spouting this belief are bisexual and have themselves chosen “not to be gay” and so therefore think that’s how everyone else thinks as well.
This expands on OT’s theory that the default sexuality is bisexual.
I have a similar theory about people that claim that "conversion therapy" worked for them. "I'm now happily married to a woman and we have 3 kids" - probably a bi man and could always have had a happy relationship with a woman (or massive internalised homophobia/denial, similar to when being gay was illegal).
I also think they could be ace because before I figured that out about myself, I would "choose" to find someone attractive, and legit thought that everyone worked like that
This was literally me before I learned that liking both guys and girls wasn't normal lol
@stop lgbt L
“I can’t say anything without being called ‘homophobic’” is such a weird hill to die on, because it’s just a way to say “my vocabulary is so filled with homophobic language and I use it so frequently, that I literally can’t speak without slipping back into it”

Yay, wholesome dads!

@science_bear bro what?
I had one of my homophobic college humanities classmates say that we should discuss how "men don't have enough rights" and then refused to debate me when I said ok then let's talk about actual minorities and how they actually don't have as many rights.
That man is on drugs and what rights don't the lgbtq+ rights we don't have yet.
Fr people really want to be oppressed so bad it's weird as hell, they'll just say random things to hurt people and not elaborate
I wonder what rights he wanted to have. Presumably, a right to have more power over others.
"men don't have enough rights, they don't have the right to molest people, they aren't entitled to having a partner who let's them do whatever how unfair :("
like what???? what do guys have to be upset about, that they can't get fucking laid ? there are worse issues in the world, get over yourself.
I couldn't accept being gay as a teenager and "chose" to be straight, and guess what happened: over the course of 10 years I developed massive psychological and emotional problems and almost killed myself in the end. After I accepted that I was gay, these problems slowly dissipated and today, almost 11 years later, I am happy to be alive and happy to be gay.
i'm so sorry you had to go through that, but i'm glad you are alive and happy with yourself and your sexuality!

@stop lgbt 🤓
@stop lgbt BESTIE WHY THO-
I would like to point out that opening up about your identity is not _just_ scary with new cishet people, especially if you're identity is occasionally considered invalid by LGBTQ+ members (eg. acearo, pan, bi, genderfluid, bigender, any xenogender that wasn't made up to make fun of trans people etc.) My Ma is literally trans and I still didn't come out to her about being genderfluid for a WHILE, she figured out on her own from my pfp on my email (parental control app had it very big)
I /still/ don't want her to use my chosen name or pronouns because I straight up don't like her and want my identity to be a precious thing between me and my closest friends (other strangers just get to know my "safe" nickname and base level pronouns) I was afraid because of prejudice in the LGBTQ+ community, regardless of her saying she doesn't care who her kids like or what they identify as, some people say that but don't /actually/ mean it as a broad statement. My main example of it is biphobia and poly stereotypes within the LGBTQ+ community (my Ma is lesbian and poly having a polycule of 4 people)
Most of this is not that important but I mostly just wanted to point out my statement from the beginning, prejudice within the LGBTQ community is really sad and makes it way more isolating than normal for people with those identities because they feel as if they no longer have a safe space they can rely on and are completely alone.
I mean reasons beyond the sad fact that being a minority or oppressed doesn't make you a good person 😑
As I said in the LGBTQ+ community it's so much better now than it used to be. But among and between ethnic and religious groups in my country it definitely isn't. There are some _incredibly_ intolerant people among them.
People need to realize that you can choose to marry someone, but choosing to be attracted to someone is not a choice
ikr, like being gay is not a choice, but coming out is (most of the time)
Well I was told it was a choice so it's not entirely my fault.
A person my family knows found out I am a lesbian and their reaction was "well that sucks why would she choose that, that'll make things hard". I honestly found it hilarious. I don't know why it happened either man, but ✨️women✨️
✨Women✨ are amazing, even if we could chose our sexuality, why wouldn’t we want women tbh:)
Why can't people except the scientific fact that sexuality is a biological thing and not a choice?
@@marvelous971-j6msexuality is definitely not biological lol, if that were the case gay people would never have fully straight parents

Edit: /j because replies are a war zone. And also because it was intended as a joke.
i think it has the potential to exist, but doesn't really pose any kind of problems today.
@@Spookatz. How does it have any "potential to exist"? /gen
Of all the things that don't exist, this doesn't exist the most.
On the "being gay is a choice" crowd and your supposition that they wouldn't be able to "choose" to be gay for a week:
I truly believe that most of them are bisexual, without knowing that that isn't everyone's experience.

Those kind of people need only one reply.
"Let your god worry about what you don't like."
That last little "ugh"... man, I felt that in my soul. Kind of how I've been feeling about the world lately.
I’ll be having a chance to talk with some of my cousins soon, and I’m excited! I’m hoping I can get comfortable enough with my parents that I can buy some pride merch that I can wear on my backpacks and stuff casually, so fingers crossed!
(Idk this was more of a long story sharing comment but I wanted to tell someone bc I don’t really have any irl friends I can talk to about something this close)
Anyways be queer pet dogs 💖💜💙
(Or characters that are forced into being straight to avoid past implications of them being any kind of LGBT, like Velma.)
Rei Daniels, exactly!
People often think that characters must either be explicitly gay to be well, gay. But often times certain measures must be taken, so they end up seeming straight, which sort of furthers the whole “well lgbt people can head canon anyone!” when really a character has always been queer coded, but due to safety for the show, can not be confirmed :(
@stop lgbt you also look to be 10 years old so maybe you should come back in a few years when you actuality understand what you're fighting against
stop lgbt, care to explain why? I’m curious as to why you think a huge group of people should be stopped.
Nathan Drake (from Uncharted) is also confirmed as having explored sex with men, so could be considered bisexual.

Love jegaysus so much 💕
Do you think if a homophobe saw a rainbow in the sky they'd think we're turning the sky gay?
I think some do think that way lmao but that's only telling on them
They *are* pretty dumb usually so maybe…
I'm straight and I'm tired. I spend 0% of my time thinking about who is in a relationship or what is in someone's pants. They just want an excuse to be an asshole to random people. 😒
Exactly!
The only legitimate reason to care about someone's sexual orientation is if you personally want to sleep with that person. Otherwise, you're an idiot.
Completely unrelated but Jamie I LOVE your piercings and I’m so jealous of how well they’ve healed
“how are children gay at 11??” me who knew that shit at 7-8
You notice in the rainbow 🌈 stair video the guy going up the regular stairs looks over at the guy going up the blocks like he's an idiot, which he is 🤣. Well at least he got his cardio for the day 🤣🤣🤣
I love how much they have to put on this big act aswell. Like my dude really handed his phone to his friend, shook his head before making an exaggerated crawl up the blocks (or atleast I hope it was exaggerated or else dudes just pretty unfit for how he looks), just to make a point about not wanting to walk on coloured steps like a normal person.
I don't really like the "being gay isn't a choice angle" because it's like, if it was then, would it be so wrong choosing to be regardless?
I love how Jamie is casually calling us potatoes at the beginning of every video :]
Thank you for the clip of the guy climbing the blocks vs the rainbow stairs - I laughed so hard XD
14:25 im trans and recently found out one of my exes is "super straight" and then he begged me to take him back lmfao
He’s playing all sides so he always comes out on top (or on the bottom? Seems like he’s losing either way) seems like an idiot
I'd say you dodged a bullet
Lmao
They had a straight musician in the 80s, isn't that enough?
I saw a photo on my moms phone of a family under an umbrella while the rainbow was raining or something. She’s gonna be disappointed cuz a drop hit me.
Hey I want to say that I'm working with someone to find a surgeon that will do my top surgery soon!! I'm so excited!!
Yay !
I'm so excited for you!!!!
OMG THATS AWESOME!!!! Good luck!!!🏳️⚧️♥️
My cousin just got approved for their top surgery recently! Titties popping off all over the place!
Aye congrats!! Hope everything goes smoothly!
The more vehemently you insist, "My child tells me EVERYTHING," the less true it likely is.
facebook and twitter is very common with transphobia comments with any lgbt posts :( and it hurts every fucking time
Found this bible verse the other day:
"I grieve for you, Jonathan...
you were very dear to me.
Your love for me was wonderful,
more wonderful than that of women." (2 Samuel 1:26 NIV)
and, idk, sounds like King David was kinda gay/bi
There is no straight explanation for this
